I have been a Marriott Bonvoy member for 2 decades, and the Westchester Marriott is yet another example in hundreds, of a hotel in desperate need of a wide-reaching renovation. I am only giving it 3 stars because the staff was great! Always helpful and cheery, and the location is great - only 10 minutes from my office. But the room was so bad, I may stay further away just to stay somewhere else. The hotel charges premium pricing but offers way lower quality rooms, atmosphere and dining options. I get it, it's COVID, but the only restaurant on site isn't open past noon?! So, when dinner rolls around, you have the choice of Ruth Chris Steakhouse or Doordash or going to get something. And sometimes, you are just exhausted from the day, you just want to sit in the hotel restaurant with your laptop and have something light and be able to sit there for a while. But no, I had to figure out what I wanted to eat and order it, and most places take 1 hour or more - and we all know, once you get up to your room you want to get undressed and relax, not have to wait for your dasher to show up. They have a machine that makes lattes and cappucinos, and the coffee was pretty decent, but they charged like $3.50 a cup, when I can stop at Dunkin for a fresh coffee. But it did it's job when I didn't have time. They had delicious yogurt parfaits, but other than the usual fare, not much else. Room & Hotel: This hotel was built during the golden age of hotels when the lobbies were these huge grand areas with bars in the middle. During this time most hotels were built with huge ballrooms and a ton of meeting rooms so it's still a good destination I guess for meetings and weddings. They say they have renovated the lobby but ummm really? So much unused space. As an avid traveler and a global traveler, I could already see the largeish seating area is a great space for a Starbucks. There is a salon in the lobby too, that would be an ideal spot for a coffee shop, and what a plus that would be for this hotel. The pool is inside an atrium with rooms all around it, which is so old school it made me laugh. And why is the snack and coffee area so tiny when there is clearly enough space to make it bigger? The room smelled old and looked old, with the original brass colored knobs and pulls that were aging badly. The bathroom desperately needed a renovation - my showerhead was rusting and the lever plate for the water was coming off the wall. I mean really? The HVAC was loud and I could never get it to a point where I wasn't too cold or hot. Half the plugs in the walls didn't work and the floor lamp didn't work. Marriott Hotels, if you need a consultant to write up reviews of your hotels and resorts - hire me - because I am not sure you are really seeing what it is we Marriott loyal travelers are saying because the Westchester Marriott is a huge symptom of a bigger wider problem at Marriott HQ. Shout out to the staff for being so helpful and cheerful!

Horrible to say the least. I was originally booked for a 7 day stay at the Marriott but I immediately departed after 1 stay when a group of men in coats banged on my door at 4am. After I asked them what business they had banging on my door one of them said oh we probably have the wrong door but they didn’t move away from my door. I was a young female alone in the hotel room and I was nervous. When I brought it to the attention of the front staff they told me it probably was a guest who mistakenly banged on the wrong door. Where was security ? How was the front desk not alerted or aware that 3 men are going around banging on doors. They instructed me to never open my door and call front desk. I told them I don’t feel safe and I am leaving to another hotel. They then offered me water ! For my troubles. Charged me for the night and sent me on my way. Never again Marriott !!! I will not

I was here to work for a night shift and the hotel is fine, nothing outstanding. The main issue I had while here was the noise coming from the other rooms and from the hallway. As you can imagine, trying to sleep during the day is pretty tough with all the noise coming into the rooms. The staff were friendly and accommodated me by putting me at the end of the hallway which was better. For a full Marriott, it doesn't seem to compare as well to some of the others but it is in a good location depending on your needs with decent amenities.

Nice location and comfortable rooms. Our room was quiet and we got a good night's sleep. The dining area could definitely use an update and expansion. Popular spot for group gatherings (weddings, bridge tournaments, etc...) When we checked in on an October weekend we were told there were 13!! wedding parties staying there...various gift bags for each filled the check-in desk! Nice center courtyard indoor pool area. Ample free parking.

When we checked in we were told there was multiple wedding parties staying there for the weekend. It was chaotic! But the 2 ladies who checked me in were very sweet. We were assigned a very nice suite. The room/suite was decent and comfortable. Front desk also helped us get a taxi when Uber was going to take a long time. Went downstairs for breakfast next morning and was appalled to see how many unmasked people, including the staff. That was a little concerning. Thought NY State has a mandate about indoor dining? Breakfast selection was actually very decent.
