So the property and grounds are lovely. I booked an “Executive Suite” to the tune of $300 plus a bunch of extra charges and resort fee. As you can see from the images, the disparity between what you get and pay for is significant. Our room was very run down, stains on the walls, furniture and carpet. The rooms need a refresh. Mid century Modern vibe just does not hit home. The shower/bathtub was strange. Staff was very nice and other common areas nice but the room was incredibly overpriced.

My mother was looking forward to a getaway to see her family for the first time in months. She booked her room months prior to her stay in the King Mansion Balcony room. When she arrived they told her that her room was no longer available because the current occupants wanted to "extend their stay." They put her in a room not in the main house which looked like a Holiday Inn, then when she refused the room they put her in a main house room up a huge flight of stairs. She decided not to stay even one night because in addition to the stairs, the room did not have proper AC. I cannot emphasize enough that you should NOT stay here.

SAVE YOUR MONEY - litter covered grounds, non-existent front desk explanation of COVID protocols upon check-in, unable to meet the simplest requests. Lamps out in hallways, scum-filled ponds, need I say more?

Due to travel restrictions we decided to make our 10th wedding anniversary quick overnight at a beautiful location. We couldn’t wait to enjoy the scenery and amenities of this estate and even booked the king mansion sun deck room since we were celebrating a big milestone. On arrival the property had many obvious wedding guests unmasked. I even heard another customer complain about the non compliance of the wedding guests. We checked into our room and I was surprised at how run down the mansion was compared to pics I have seen. The room as well was nothing special. Our queen bed was only a full and the bed frame was broken and banging against the wall every time we moved. We tried to make the best of it and we’re going to relax at pool and take in the scenery. We were told the pool was closed for maintenance. The property was flooded with wedding guests and like I mentioned not all masked which made us hesitant to explore. To sum it up we spent almost $300 on a room we only slept in. We spent the rest of the trip off the property bc there was nothing g for us to do unless we wanted to crash a wedding. So basically our getaway was a bust. I really wanted to complain but the front desk was super busy with wedding guests checking in/out. It was a huge disaster and I wish we would’ve been made aware there was a huge event when we made reservation it was not worth all that Money to stay here.

Beautiful grounds on a former estate overlooking the Hudson. I have previously stayed here many times , but this time was hugely disappointing. Service is non-existent, supposedly due to Covid protocols. No housekeeping, or even replacement of towels, in-room coffee and toiletries or emptying the trash in 4 days. When I requested housekeeping, nobody responded when I returned at the end of the day. Also a $25/day "resort fee" tacked onto the bill, which is a deceptive charge. Room was poorly appointed and there was water leaking from the window that damaged the drapes and plaster was falling onto the sill. Parking is far from the rooms and dragging my bags across the campus, up hills and navigating many stairs was way more effort than necessary. How about baggage or golf carts? Overall, not a pleasant experience.
