DO NOT stay at this hotel if you want: • a working thermostat (air conditioning unit); • a comfortable room; • a hassle-free stay; • a quiet place to relax; • a hotel staffed with adequate security; and • a nice room with quality amenities; I spent three nights at this place & ended up needing to stay in 4 separate rooms! Day/Night 1: Rm#316 & Rm#323—Checked into Rm#316. A/C unit broken. Maintenance guy couldn’t fix it. He said many of the A/C units weren’t working cuz they were old. So, they moved us late in the hot evening to Rm#323 with a working A/C—finally. Day/Night 2: Early Sunday morning noisy guests next door decided Sunday AM was a perfect time to party in the hallway. About 8 people from several rooms were yelling, laughing, throwing things, hitting the walls, and slamming doors. I complained & the Front Desk sent “security” (I guess), but everyone just laughed at them. And they kept it up. Nothing was ever done about them. So, we left to get a little peace&quiet. That groups ended up checking out. But later that night, a large group of new guests, just as loud as the previous group, took over most of the rooms in the hotel. Again, security(?) did nothing. Day/Night 3: Rm#341 & Rm#167: The new group of guests ended up being even worse the next morning. We again had to leave the hotel to get some quiet. When we returned at 2PM for a nap, the people in the room next to us had literally turned their room into a makeshift day-care center for all the kids in their group. I saw at least 10 women (believe it or not) in the room watching over multiple screaming, crying, tantrum-throwing kids—about a dozen of them—from babies to toddlers. So much for taking a nap. So, we called AGAIN to complain. Nothing was done about them, but we were given yet another room—our third one: Rm#341. I thought everything would be fine. But I was wrong. THE AIR CONDITIONING UNIT IN THIS ROOM ALSO DIDN’T WORK! I called at 5:15PM for maintenance…..By 6PM—no one came. So, I went to the front desk to ask, in person, for someone to please fix the A/C. Still, no one came. I again went down to the front desk at 6:45PM & once more asked for maintenance. Then, at about 7:30PM, a guy finally showed up (i.e., over two hours after I had first called about the A/C). Not surprisingly, this maintenance guy also said the A/C was broken (as were several of them in other rooms). So, we moved to our 4th room….. Rm#167. Day 4: Rm#167: We checked out on our final day, but not without more issues. 1. The bill slipped under the door had a charge for breakfast, which was supposed to be included with our room rate. But the woman who took our breakfast coupons seemed upset that we were going to be getting a free breakfast—so she apparently decided to just charge us. I had to have that charge removed upon check-out. (Interestingly, while waiting to speak to the front desk, the lady in front of me was complaining about their A/C not working in their room—they must’ve been given one of our reject rooms.) 2. Much to my shock, at 8:15AM, someone decided to play BAGPIPES in their room. The shockingly loud “music” literally reverberated across the entire 1st floor (and lobby) like someone was blasting music thru a loudspeaker. I mentioned to the Front Desk: “Did you know someone s playing bagpipes and it’s really loud?” The staffer rolled her eyes and said: “I know they’re having some sort of celebration or ceremony.” 3. Regarding all four rooms, they were inconsistent with their amenities. One room lacked towels & had no soaps/shampoo in shower. Another room had the soaps/shampoos, but had no comforters on the beds. The third room had black out curtains that didn’t close all the way. And in ALL 4 ROOMS, the USB ports didn’t work. The ONLY good things about this place was the breakfast buffet, which came with our room(s). It was fantastic. But, tbh, I would have much rather bought my own breakfast somewhere else and been able to stay in just 1 room for 3 nights & have an A/C unit that actually worked. I’ll NEVER stay at another Crowne Plaza—ever.…
Have stayed several times when neededto be in this area. Always efficient check=in clean room and bathroom. Beds are excellent. Getting a good night's sleep important to function the next day. The common areas always kept clean including the large lounge/event area.
I arrived at 12:40 PM, thinking I would grab lunch before checking in. Although their website says the restaurant serves "breakfast, lunch, dinner & dessert", it was dark, with a rope across the entrance, and no staff anywhere to be seen. Same for the adjoining lounge, which the website says they serve "Lunch, Dinner, Dessert". Off to the front desk, where I was greeted with BARELY a grunt by the solitary person on duty. Despite showing my IHG Diamond Elite card, I was offered NONE of the amenities that normally go with this. I was the only guest in the lobby, yet there was no real greeting, welcome or small talk. Definitely the worst check-in experience I've ever had in an IHG hotel. After getting to my room, I had difficulty finding the toilet paper in the bathroom. I was about to grab the spare roll and use that, but when I reached under the vanity for it, I found it - in a completely ridiculous, hidden, inconvenient, and unreachable FROM the toilet location. Plus, it's open at one end, so when you pull on the roll, it slips right off of the dispense anyway. See photos. Glad I only had to stay one night.…
Very satisfied with stay, definitely will be back when I visit friends in the area! Large and well kept atrium, friendly helpful staff (thank you Denise for offering to carry my bag to my room while I held my sleeping child!), well equipped room and bathroom, easy and safe parking. Some things that could be improved - coffee in lobby had run out when I checked out at 11am, I prefer more bright lighting in room (and not a bunch of floor and table lamps I need to individually turn on/off, some furniture was worn out with scratches and bumps, TV a bit slow to use and Guide didn't seem to work so had to flip through channels
40 Minutes from Manhattan it is a nice option just past the NJ/NY state line on the NY side. It is a tad run down and the manager needs to pay attention to detail. The staff was not super helpful and the heat struggled the whole time.
This 3 story hotel in the middle of a treed area appears to have been just built. Everything is brand new. The room's are huge with every possible convenience imaginable. Really excellent. One however needs instructions on how to use the bathroom. The shower has only one fixed glass panel on the shower side. That is half a door so to speak. To reach the shower faucet you have to get in with at least half your body in the shower stall. If you are wearing anything you will get wet. If you are undressed you will get a jolt of hot or cold water depending on how far you opened the tap. To use. Turn the shower head as far as possible towards the wall before you do anything. The mirror is L shaped with one mirror facing you and the rest of it on the wall to your left. Right in the angle at your eyesight level is a lamp. If you are facing the mirror you see the left side of your face. The right side is not lit enough to shave. So shave your left side then turn facing the mirror on your left and finish shaving the right side. There are no bell boy service so get a dolly and handle your own luggage. To find the ice and vending machine take a right after you exit the elevator and walk down to the end of the corridor. There are no signs. There is a free open air parking lot. The self service breakfast buffet is pretty good.…
Nice enough room but a little run down and dirty. Comfy bed. Nice gym. The staff was very helpful. Water pressure excellent. Breakfast was mediocre. All in all, not a bad place to stay the night when traveling from one place to another. Don't get your hopes up and you won't be disappointed
If I could give zero stars for this hotel I would kids running all over all hours of the night. 12 o’clock check out however housekeeping insists on waking you up and just walking into your room without knocking at 9 AM. Rooms are extremely underwhelming
We cannot this hotel due to their lack of adherence to Covid restrictions. At check-in, the front desk were not wearing masks. When we asked if masks were required, the staff member said yes, but added that she didn't wear one since she was vaccinated. There was a bar mitzvah going on and NOBODY was wearing a mask. We were incredibly uncomfortable and considered leaving. Instead, we used a rear door to enter and exit the hotel, which allowed us to avoid the common areas. The 2 keys they gave us at check-in did not work. Our room was fine. The room was clean, the bed/pillows were very comfortable. The lounge chair in the room (Room 138) was stained; we chose not to use it. There were no extra towels. Not a hotel we would recommend. Note: we are IHG members so our experience was especially sad.…
I would give this place half a star if I could. They are very rude, and unaccommodating, with terrible attitudes. First of all, the rooms on the first floor have windows facing the lobby, not outside, so you hear everything that goes on in the lobby at all hours of the night. Then, when you call the front desk, because they are partying at the bar past 1 am, they tell you that they cannot do anything because they reserved the bar until 2. It doesn’t matter to them that my wife, my 2 children, and I could sleep because of the party in the lobby. Then, when we asked for a new crib sheet for our child an hour and a half before checkout, so that they could nap before we left, they refused because we were checking out soon. Spectacularly rude and disrespectful.
