We could not have asked for a better experience during our stay at the Stony Brookside. We were in town for the weekend for our daughter's wedding at The Three Village Inn, which is right down the block. Elyse and Marty provided everything we needed for our daughter the bride, her four bridesmaids, and us, the parents of the bride, during our 3-4 day stay. The bedrooms were beautifully furnished, clean, had great A/C, and wonderful views of the lake at Avalon Park and Preserve, the Stony Brook Grist Mill, and the surrounding area. The beds were super comfortable. Bathrooms were private and we were stocked with thoughtful touches, such as super soft and absorbent towels, hair dryers, sunscreen, shampoos, lotions, etc. The living room and dining room were spacious, and decorated with beautiful original paintings, photographs, full bookshelves, and interesting objects of art. A grand fireplace was the focal point. Breakfasts and snacks were delicious and plentiful- egg casseroles, delicious fresh baked muffins, fresh fruits, cereals, yogurts... Elyse accommodated our requests and individual tastes perfectly. The Stony Brookside became our wedding home base for the bridal party preparations and photographs, which were taken on their beautiful grounds and across the street at the lake and preserve. The personalized attention we received was second to none, and Elyse and Marty ensured we had everything we needed to make our stay perfect. We had a lovely, midweek stay, in April, at The Stony Brookside. Elyse and Marty made us feel welcomed and relaxed. We loved being able to search through their routes. Each morning at breakfast, Elyse asked where we were riding. We told her what we had selected and she gave us spot-on tips about the roads as well as places to stop and eat. Elyse also took care with my celiac, gluten-free diet in her breakfast preparations and in her suggestions for lunch stops. We also enjoyed the Avalon Nature Preserve, right next to the property. We walked the trails every morning before riding. We loved being able to easily park the bikes in the garage at the end of the day. We definitely plan on returning!

I stayed with Marty and Elyse for three nights, and my brother 1 night, as we planned and attended our mother's funeral. I was grateful to be able to return to a warm, comforting and peaceful environment at the end of each day. It was evident that Elyse and Marty take pride in their home and value the health, safety and well-being of their guests. The Harbor room overlooks the harbor and pond , and was spacious and very comfortable.. My brother described his room, the Village room as very comfortable and spacious as well. This room overlooks the village. Breakfasts were scrumptious! The SBBBI will continue to be our home away from home when my husband and I visit friends on Long Island.

We had such a great time at the Stony Brookside! My husband and I are avid cyclists and we loved that this B&B was set up for bikes! We took the train from NYC and cycled from the train station to the property (less than 10 min!). Because we came during Covid, things were set up a little but differently but Elyse made us feel totally comfortable, safe, and welcome! The room was super comfortable and clean and the breakfast every morning was delicious! They also had snacks set out which was great to take with us on our bike rides! We LOVED that Elyse and Marty had pre-made bike routes mapped out and we couldn't believe how much there was to do and see around the area! Even if you aren't biking, there are great restaurants, hiking trails, and more all walking distance from the property. We would love to come back again and explore more of the surrounding area!…

I stayed at Elyse & Marty’s lovely inn for 2 nights, and enjoyed the last weekend of summer. Although I was graciously offered a bike (their mapped routes looked great!) I was happy walking everywhere— at the nature preserve nearby, to the beach for swims, to restaurants nearby for delicious dinners. Breakfast at the inn is home-made, fresh, and terrific. The inn is very clean, comfortable, and welcoming, and I enjoyed books about the history of the area. Elyse and Marty are very kind hosts, and whether you are a biker or not, this is a stop worth noting!

This is a great spot for a perfect weekend getaway. The hosts Elyse & Marty are friendly warm kind hearted hosts. The breakfast was delicious, their home is nice and clean, the guest rooms are extremely clean, we truly felt like we where visiting with family. My husband and his friend went for a bicycle ride, Marty & Elyse fitted them for a perfect bike ride, beaches are nice and close, my girlfriend and I spent our morning shopping and then we relaxed on the local beach, restuarants are in walking distance, along with unique shops, all in walking distance. During this time of covid19 pandemic, they did a wonderful job of keeping us all safe. We would highly recommend this beautiful cozy B&B to anyone looking for the prefect getaway

Location, location, location, the hosts are amazing, gracious and knowledgeable. Our room was spacious, immaculately clean, comfortable with lovely views. The biking is fabulous, scenery beautiful and food / restaurants are delicious.

We had such an enjoyable time at The Stony Brookside Bed & Bike Inn. Elyse and Marty were extremely helpful not only with local recommendations and information but also with itineraries outside of Stony Brook. The breakfast in the morning was lovely with lots of options. You truly feel at home in the B&B and Elyse and Marty couldn't have been kinder. The fresh baked goods and sweet, freindly cats were an added bonus!

Great Location with extreme friendly Innkeepers. The Inn offers all you need incl. Wifi, TV, Fruitts, homemade Cookies, Tea and Coffee throughout the day. Rooms are great and clean and the breakfast is ultimate!

We can’t thank Elyse and Marty enough for such a great stay. The inn was so beautiful and immaculately clean. We really felt at home throughout our stay, nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was so fresh and tasty and Elyse’s home baking was amazing. Elyse and Marty kindly lent us some bikes and we really enjoyed seeing the local area by bike.
