Tantobie is perhaps not the obvious place for an Italian bakery, but this young couple have taken the plunge. Both have a love of cooking and the husband is Italian, so a promising start. We came for coffee and a sandwich, the coffee was good and served in lovely china and the sandwiches in ciabatta bread were delicious. Both were... More

My husband and I stayed here for two nights a couple of weeks ago. Breakfast was delicious: french toast one morning and an omelet with goat cheese the next, plenty of delicious coffee and fruit too. The Inn was beautifully decorated for Christmas and there is a large gas fireplace in the main room, which was in use during our... More

We stayed for a night mid-week for a couple of days of hiking in the Shawangunks and poking around the various small villages that dot this beautiful area. Suzanne, the innkeeper could not have been more gracious or accommodating. First she informed me of the substantial mid-week discounts. Then, when I expressed concern about traffic noise on Rt 209 [thanks... More

We stayed at the Inn at Stone Ridge for two nights and had a very pleasant time. We live in Manhattan and it was a spur of the moment decision to go upstate for a relaxing weekend, so we didn't do much research, just picked a place that looked ok. Suzanne, the proprietor, was professional on the phone, sent email... More

A year before our wedding in New Paltz my fiance and I stayed at several inns in the area so that we could recommend them (or not) to our guests. We were so charmed by the Inn at Stone Ridge that we decided to reserve the whole house for my relatives. We didn't have time to stay there ourselves but... More

I'm so sorry to hear that your guests didn't enjoy themselves. We are an "inn" which is basically a home away from home and we don't live on premises. A bed and breakfast you do.We are NOT a bed and breakfast. Our guests come and go as they please and we leave them alone to enjoy their time away. We... More

I do not usually leave reviews about INNs i stay at but i had to this time.... Here is what we experience... We checked into the Inn at Stone Ridge ready to relax and fully unwind. However - it turned out to be way more stressful than expected. When we arrived, the Inn Keeper was not at the front desk.... More

WE are truly sorry about the stink bug issue. This year these bugs were all over the east coast and no matter what you do, they find a way into warm places when it starts gettting chilly outside. He also did not tell these guests to take care of the stink bugs themselves. He was upfront when he checked them in... More

As I write this I am waiting to find another place to stay. The house looks charming from the outside. The staff have been quite helpful (especially the restaurant staff), but I cannot wait to get out of here. For one thing, our room smells of turpentine or some strong paint fumes. The downstairs smells much stronger, so initially. I... More

The Inn is a great place for a romantic weekend. the rooms were clean, nicely decorated and the restaurant serves a variety dishes , plain to fancy. the location is wonderful nestled on the mountain, and close to several little towns in the area.

My girlfriend and I went this past Saturday night for dinner. Made a reservation (glad we did), earlier on the day of our visit. The pictures of the grounds speak for themselves, very nice even in winter. We were seated rather promptly. The dinning area we sat in, on the driveway side of the house, was full. The layout of... I used to live in Stone Ridge and ate at 'Hasbrouk House', as it used to be known, a few times. The food then was always sublime. We went back this October for an evening meal and chose the shepherd's pie. If we hadn't been guests of some friends we would have sent the whole lot back. Shepherd's pie is... More

This is one reason why tripadvisor.com is so horrible. People with really bad attitudes and extreme negativity in theirs lives can post anything that they want. These people were sour from the moment they walked in. First of all our shepherd's pie is made with Prime Rib and the waiter did tell them that. We do not serve gruel and... More
