The Elmrock Inn is a charming and meticulously well-kept family establishment that makes dreams come true! With the help of the magnificent co-owner Kim, I was able to plan the elopement of my dreams in a matter of just a few days before Labor Day Weekend! My then fiancé and I were looking to elope for LDW the year of COVID and, luckily, the Elmrock Inn opened up vacancies a few days before we planned to travel! Kim was very friendly and a total pro at letting us know exactly what we needed for a 12-person wedding. She helped us find the best local florist, beautician, and photographer, and she even created an itinerary of what we can do with our friends during the long weekend. Kim also curated our menu for the wedding dinner, which her husband, a Hudson Valley top chef of 20 years, prepared! We savored every bite of all the decadent gourmet wedding dinner that Chef Mark prepared for us. And the three mornings we spent in the Inn, the breakfasts did not disappoint – all were mouth watering. On the evening of the wedding, there was a staff of people helping our friends/guests travel from ceremony in the expansive backyard to the rustic dinner table in their dining room to the bonfire outdoors, which was already set up for us. Kim, Mark and the staff made sure that ever need of ours was taken care of. Everyone was very professional, friendly and practice safety during COVID. It was a magical time in the midst of so much uncertainty everywhere else. We cannot thank Kim, Mark and their staff enough for making our day extremely special and unforgettable!!…
We had a wonderful stay at the Elmrock Inn carriage house (upstairs only). It was perfectly comfortable for the three of us, very clean and with very comfortable beds. There is no TV in the upstairs of the carriage house which was fine for us. The grounds of the inn are beautiful and serene, with lots of trees and open green space. Breakfast is hosted daily at 9am in the main house of the inn, and was delicious both days. The inn is situated right off the main road; when we stepped outside, noise from passing traffic was definitely audible but did not bother us at all during our stay. Mark was a great host, very low-key and allowed all of the guests to keep to themselves for most of the time. He had great suggestions for things to do in the area and was accommodating to our requests. We'd recommend this inn if you're looking for a comfortable, elegant but down-to-earth base to explore the Hudson Valley/Catskills region.…
We loved our stay at the Elm Rock inn. The room was very comfortable, there were lots of nice amenities like big bath robes, water and snacks. The outside stone patio was beautiful and we enjoyed sitting out there with wine. Breakfast was fantastic! Mark is such a good chef. He also offers great tips for hiking and things to do in the area. I noticed that some people commented on road noise; we stayed in the Iris suite which is at the front of the house on the road and it did not bother us at all. We're from Brooklyn and not accustomed to complete silence at night -- if that's what you're looking for perhaps book one of the rooms towards the back of the house or the carriage house. All in all this was a fantastic stay and we would stay again.
I stayed here with my daughter and friends for one night in the Carriage House. The accomodation was clean and comfortable. The Chef Mark was a very nice host and cooked a delicious breakfast made with French toast, fruits, apple cider, bacon, etc... He advised us for visiting the Minnewaska state park with falls and lake . It was a wonderful moment.
Absolutely the worst experience. Inn is located on a highway where trucks go by all night long. Feels like they are in the room with you, literally shakes the place. Total false advertising on the website, rustic doesn’t mean gross. Breakfast was unpalatable, raw scones and quiche was still frozen in the middle. Inn keeper completely unbothered by the complaints. Left early, please stay away if you want any sleep at all.
