Rooms clean, comfortable but not quiet until the dining room/bar closed. Free internet but no TV(a welcome change!). The gorgeous view while sitting on the front porch and the excellent food in the dining room make up for any inconveniences in the lodging.

Stumbled upon this gem as we searched for an authentic Adirondack experience, and we were not disappointed. This is a beautiful, historic little lodge just outside Speculator, with scenic views - inside & out. We were given spacious Rm 7, immaculate and peaceful, rustic yet comfortable. Beds were outstanding; we both slept extremely well. Evening sounds from the bar downstairs... More

The Melody Lodge has always been my favorite place to eat for over 20 years. I have never stayed there and have been wanting to try it. My husband and I were there for 2 nights in Aug. First thing I noticed was no TV in our room. At least an air conditioner, so that helped with the heat. We... More

Absolutely horrible service/ attitude. I don't know how you could ever plan on being in business very long with the way they treat their customers. The only lady that was pleasurable to speak to was the cleaning lady who would do a better job running that business than who is in place now. I would never recommend staying here.

We recently stayed at the Melody Lodge and I am guessing the older lady that checked us in was the owner because no employee can be that rude to a customer and keep their job. Just nasty miserable. She huffed and puffed every time we asked for something. I will say that the food was very good, the bartender, Sean... More

The food is fantastic, the waitstaff is fabulous, and overall a great experience. The rooms are basic but clean and functional. I took my wife here for a day of snowmobiling in the Adirondacks and we had a great dinner and a place to sleep to get early start in the morning. I've had food here at least three different... We selected the Melody Lodge while visiting the Adirondacks mainly because they were located in the southern half of the park and they were open. Many of the smaller accommodations had closed for the season. We chose to stay in Room #2 (the Violin Room) because the room offered a small balcony and a view of the two nearby lakes.... More

My husband and I have enjoyed drinks and dinners at this location a few times, but always in the fall. Today was a perfect summer day, so we took a ride up here for lunch. After being warned by some other friends that the lunch service policy wasn't immediately obvious for eating on the patio, we were forewarned to order... More

When I was reading all those bad reviews I was shocked. Those sound like reviews made by their concurrents. I stayed with those people twice in 2013 and 2014. I'm satisfied. Friendly people (owners) and bartender too. They are polite enough and not annoying. I like this place.

Our group goes to the Melody Lodge every year and rent all the rooms upstairs for the weekend. The staff is great and helpful (especially the housekeeper!) The food is to die for. Walk out the door and hop on the trails, then come back and sit by the fire.
