My daughter and I enjoyed an amazing overnight for some much needed R & R. The entire facility and property is beautiful, warm and welcoming. Spa experience was perfect from overall ambiance, services, guest facilities and especially the outdoor hot tub. It was pouring rain but we didn't care, it was amazing. The apple cider mimosas were yummy and the outdoor fireplace kept us warm. We had dinner and breakfast which were equally amazing. All of our selections were wonderful, but I have to admit, the truffle fries were the best we've ever had. Mission accomplished, we were beyond relaxed at the end of our visit. We'll be back. Worth it!

Don’t get me wrong. Mirabeau is still a very nice place but every year the service slips more and more. The facilities are great but you pay for spectacular service and it’s is not happening. The overall cleanliness was not great this year. Towels everywhere for long periods of time. The hot tub area littered with empty cups, glasses and towels. There was even a band aid that sat next to the hot tub for two days. Tried to get breakfast at 10 am on Saturday morning and was told they were over capacity and it would be 1.5 hours until they could even seat us. The restaurant was 35% at capacity and half the place was in the spa (so it couldn’t have been room service). There was no apology but an offer to make us toast. Not what anyone should expect for the price. Lots of little things not done as well and checkout is always a 20 minute process. The majority of staff is young and inexperienced. Jose is the only person who seems to have a clue. So while we enjoy the facility and love the town...we may be headed elsewhere next year. You pay for service at a place like this and it is slipping more and more each year.

This property is quite beautiful. The grounds are stunning and the public spaces are warm and comfortable. Every staff member made us feel welcomed and each was accommodating in any way they could. Our room, in one of the cottages, was very nice. It had a small patio with table and chairs - a very nice addition.
My caveat is for anyone with some physical disabilities. There are stairs on the beautiful bridge that are difficult to navigate if one has no depth perception. You can not see where one step ends and another begins. The railings are partially blocked by pretty vines and the railing ends before the last two steps. There are cement steps going from the sidewalk to the room walkways which are quite deep and have no handrails. Unless you request a handicap room, there are no handrails in the shower or near the claw-foot tub.
In addition, note that there is a $24/day resort fee, whether the area is used or not.

This was my fourth time visiting Mirabeau and it is ALWAYS a treat. Yes, it is higher priced but you definitely get what you pay for! Mirbeau is a special place from the facilities - which are stunning as the Monet gardens and bridge set the stage - the rooms are fabulous and I highly recommend you get one with a garden patio if there during warmer weather. It truly adds to the experience. The spa is well worth it and make sure to take full advantage of the outdoor grotto jacuzzi, bar included! The service is excellent...very attentive. Lastly, get into the town of Skaneateles as it is as quaint as they come with cute shops, good restaurants and special ambiance. Dining along the koi pond mixes delicious food, stellar service and spectacular views. Just a great experience whether with friends or couples. I’ll be back!

I have been to Mirbeau many times and have had great experiences in the past. This was my first time back in about 7 years. This time was not memorable in a good way. We arrive to be told that the jacuzzi was non-functional. That was a serious bummer as we were planning to go there after massages and dinner but we powered through that disappointment. The spa treatments were decent and our dinner was good but that is where everything made a turn for the worse. We could barely get to the bar to order a drink, the bartenders were very inexperienced, and come to find out there is a huge wedding party beginning to flow in. All accommodations surrounding the bar were unavailable to us for the remainder of the night and we felt like we were looked at by members of the wedding party like we didn't belong there. We paid a lot of money for every accommodation and now a few more were made unavailable to us. We could not relax in the library, the dining area or the bar. We had no other place to go but back to our room. Then, the occupants upstairs from us were drunk, obnoxiously loud, and were noisy until at least 12:30 am. Never had I experienced this at Mirbeau before. The rooms are meant to be relaxing and quiet. We left first thing in the morning and reported our disgust to the front desk. They offered nothing except for a meager apology. We will not be returning and management will be receiving a letter about this stay. BEWARE when scheduling and make sure you can use all amenities when you go or you will be spending $1000 for a mediocre experience.

Response from Richard M, General Manager at Mirbeau Inn & Spa Skaneateles
Responded Jan 8, 2020
Mirbeau's popularity has grown significantly over the past seven years. This is particularly evident during the very busy Holiday season. The property has become a central celebratory place for many. We apologize that you felt we failed to live up to expectations as a result of the activity at the property. Although we did not host this particular event the guests of the wedding choose to continue the festivities after the reception at the Bistro & Winebar at Mirbeau We strive to provide wonderful experiences for all our guests and do our best to inform them of any such activities during the reservation process. Unfortunately some impromptu events occur that are beyond our abilities to share with everyone. Again our sincere apologies

Room: 10/10: I very much appreciated the large bath, fireplace, view and comfy bed.
Food: 8/10-I think the waitress was in training and mixed up our meals and our meat was not cooked as requested. They made up for the mistake with free dessert which was so lovely! I'm not used to fancy dining tho and they seemed in a hurry to take our food away... Also the french onion soup is delicious... ask for extra cheese on it :)
Staff: 7/10-Dining staff was great, even though the service was necessarily perfect, I very much loved their attitudes which is what matters most to me! Desk staff was very friendly. I talked to the guy folding napkins by the door as I waited for the bathroom and he was so nice! Spa desk staff was good. Spa staff cleaning the foot bath area was angry and not vibing well. The masseuse was terrible.
Vibe: 8/10- Covid complicates things, I miss the cucumber water in the spa area. I found all the art work to be little humorous... its a bunch of women working. every.single.picture. The Christmas tree and lights everywhere was so magical!
Spa: 3/10: This is super disappointing since it's the main reason we booked here. The hot tub was broken and was very cold, the massage itself was not very good, I asked the masseuse to not massage my legs because I'm ticklish and she ARGUED with me about it. I also looked at the clock twice, I was actually looking for the oils because I wanted to smell them before I chose which one to use (which apparently you can't do because of Covid) but I accidently looked at the clock on my search for them and she yelled at me for that. She talked A LOT during the massage, where I like it quite. She was not very strong or good at getting out the knots in my back. Her vibe was anxious and angry and that as well as the broken hot tub made for a terrible day of trying to relax at the spa.
Also since only one person at a time is allowed in the steam room, and the hot tub was broken, there was a line to get into it. Definitely not worth the money.

The setting is very nice and the service was very good everywhere, hotel, spa, etc. The hotel is quaint and beautiful but maybe in need of a little updating. We really enjoyed our time and don't want this to sound too negative as the weekend was very nice. I would say that the price of everything is a bit high. We typically get more space in a room that we spend this much for and as nice as the Spa is we usually spend about 1/4 to 1/3 less on the same services.

The inn is very attractive. We stayed on the club floor. Housekeeping was not very attentive about tidying the club room frequently. They had to be called nightly to put water in the refrigerator. I ran out of shaving cram and called 3 times for a sample to no avail. Every hotel has samples on hand . The food was good but not great but the service was very slow. Lunch took 2 hours. The spa is nice and the property is beautiful. Liquid soap is provided in the room but the tiny cake of soap they give you is a throwback from motels in the 1960’s. The spa is very nice and all employees were very pleasant but more training is needed. I asked where my wife and I could take an exercise walk and no one knew. All they had to say was walk out the front of the hotel and take the sidewalk into town. It was a beautiful walk. We had a nice time but training is needed in many departments.

My husband and I recently booked a day spa package followed by dinner and an overnight at Mirbeau. Never been, I was super excited to check it out. We both had a massage booked for 11am and while waiting, we sat in the "waiting area", which was absolutely gorgeous. At first we were the only two people there. I understood the concept behind the no cell phones and/or electronic devices, however, as people started to file in, majority had their phones out. While mine stayed in my bag, I did pull out my Kindle to read my book. As I sat there reading, an older woman that worked there came over and told me I had to put it away because it was an electronic device. Mind you, the Kindle was not connected to the wifi, nor was it making any sound. I was simply reading a book as most people these days read from Kindles. I didn't argue but this didn't sit well. For the amount of money I was paying, I felt this was a little much. The staff was a little over the top in constantly approaching guests regarding masks and other issues. I didn't find that down time to be relaxing at all. Several workers had little to no personality and found the overall experience to be very dry. The cocktails and food were very good. The bed was outstanding, however, breakfast was late the following morning. Upon leaving the Inn, my husband and I both agreed that an overnight and massage at the Belhurt Castle was not only much cheaper but overall more exciting and relaxing. I was disappointed in the overall experience for the amount of money that was spent.

Shameful. Point blank shameful!
A 5 star resort that sends out uncooked carrots on a $30 menu item?
And then the waitress doesn’t care? I hit them with my fork like they were rocks.
They were rocks!
ZERO APOLOGY OR COMPENSATION.
I retreated to the bar area for a glass of wine.
Horrible bar service. Waited forever and they acted like it was an inconvenience.
Asked if she could turn the fireplace on, she said “No!”
I asked, is it broken?
No.
OK.
So I just dropped $60 for lunch alone and nobody can turn on a freaking fireplace?
