Overall the property is nice and charming and I really wanted to like it, but rooms are tiny and we had to share a shower with the rest of the floor. Although I understand this location is just overpriced during the summer, it honestly felt like robbery to pay as much as we did, and not even have a private shower. Definitely recommend choosing a different destination for this price range.

Our son got married at the Rams Head last weekend. The food was amazing. Hospitality was excellent. Our daughter has Celiac and they were able to accommodate her without a problem. Linda is the owner and she is quite the professional! I loved everything about the Inn. The rooms were impeccable. If you have the opportunity to go to Shelter Island, Rams Head is worth the trip!!

The rams head inn is situated in a near perfect position overlooking shelter island. Sadly that's where it all ends. The hotel is tired, the staff don't seem motivated to offer good service and the rooms are shabby. Overall not a good experience.

Romantic, elegant, historic, lovely and really just perfect. You can't help but relax here-very private location-not overcrowded either. Private beach, tennis, and more-sunsets and relaxation!!!!!!!!! Food, service and bar all great with top notch staff

The definition of hospitality is the friendly and generous reception and entertainment of pretty much anything with 2-4 legs This hotel is anything but that. It feels like the place in Happy Gilmore where Adam Sandler's grandma lived at. No one greets you when you walk in. Just yell "hello" and you'll see someone rise up from their foot stool behind the counter looking very confused. 99.1% sure they are hypnotized. Need help taking luggage to your room? Well, they won't ask, because they don't offer anything. So be physically ready. Need anything before noon? Good luck! No one can seem to do anything until noon which is when it appears most people get in. Looking for a clean room? Best wishes! Might as well wear a bee keeper outfit and cotton balls stuffed up your nose from the foul bathroom odors. Looking to control the AC/heat in your room? It's 2018, this feature doesn't exist yet, still being worked on! Looking for a clean property? BYOCM (bring your own cleaning materials). Trash was left out from the previous night, no biggie, I cleaned it up. Want to do fun activities? You'll need to walk to the basement and get the equipment yourself! Verrrry hospitable! Looking for peace and quiet? Probably should wear noise canceling headphones. If you flicked the wall hard enough, you'd probably go right through it. I think the hotel was made out of paper mache. Bartender and manager - rude, won't help at all (until at least noon), got scolded for wanting to take a cereal box at night because it wasn't breakfast. 2 nights = $800+ of pure sadness Are there any pros? Comfortable chairs outside, good amount of shade, lot of solid restaurants on the island.
