We've just returned home from 3 nights at the Villa at Saugerties. We usually vacation in far flung places but the pandemic made that very uncertain so I booked our 40th anniversary weekend a car ride away. This was the perfect replacement for Paris! Rooms and baths are very well appointed and comfortable. The grounds and building are beautiful and serene - the hosts Amanda and Joe couldn't have been more hospitable - breakfasts creative and beautiful and keep you going for the whole day. Do take them up on Saturday night dinner in the garden - the food was delicious and plating exquisite. We are fairly bad relaxers and there is plenty to do nearby - we went to two open air art installations (Art Omi and Opus 40 - and stopped at Storm King on our way up from Manhattan),…
We have been refreshed and restored. The Villa at Saugerties is a beautiful, exquisitely designed place...both in the rooms and the gardens. You feel nature's presence from the pink and white peonies in the room to the quiet bird calls and the willows in the garden where we shared our meals. Amanda and Joe are warm, caring people who take delight in getting to know their guests. They ask for individual food preferences. Delicious meals are creatively prepared and served with pride. Thank you, Amanda and Joe, for giving us unique moments in time we will long remember.
Spent a mother/daughter weekend at the Villa at Saugerties and everything about it was just perfection! Run by couple Amanda and Joe, we were treated to high touch service from the moment I called to book the reservation - I received a lovely email with suggestions of all the local things to do and she spent time on the phone with me to discuss itinerary and any special requests. The Villa is clearly a labor of love - every single detail is just perfection - every design element by Amanda and every food decision by Joe. There are 4 rooms, each uniquely decorated with beautiful custom pieces. We had Room 1 which had a gorgeous sage colored bed, navy chair and an antique looking crackled oval mirror on the wall. The view of the lush outside gardens was spectacular and…
We had was such a wonderful time at the Villa. Amanda and Joe are such lovely, kind people, it was so nice to get to know them. The property is quiet and beautiful even in the dead of winter. The house is impeccably decorated, clean, and comfortable. The rooms had a private patio, fireplace, heated bathroom floors, and an amazing soaking tub! The homemade food was incredible and every meal was better than going out to eat! We felt very safe desfpitethe pandemic. They always kept their distance, wore masks, and the place was impeccable! Would return again!
We spent three nights at the Villa at Saugerties. The property is impeccably designed and the owners, Amanda and Joe, are warm and make you feel at home. The room we stayed in had a beautiful patio where we sat with our morning coffee or relaxed after a day of hiking and town hoping in the area. They have a delicious brunch prepared for you each morning and a dinner on Saturday night. This gave us ample opportunity to explore food in the area, but made the trip so much more relaxing to know we could sleep in and have yummy meal each morning. We can't wait to return!
Amanda and Ed set out to "make people happy" and they succeed. They labored for six years to build a sanctuary of peace and quiet in the middle of a beautifully landscaped parcel of land on the edge of the Catskill Mountains. Ex Food Channel manager Ed creates a sumptuous breakfast daily. Amanda says she doesn't know much about gardening. Don't believe her. She's as much of a master with grasses, herbs, and flowering plants as she is with the interior design of the Villa. Dinner Saturday nights is an extravaganza. BYOB means you can splurge on the wine. Just four lovely rooms. Saugerties is full of good restaurants and nearby town of Hudson is now restored to its past beauty. Also close are the towns of Rhinebeck, the historic homes of painters Thomas Cole and Frederick…
The Villa is the perfect place for a relaxing getaway. The property is beautiful and charming, and the rooms are private and luxurious. The owners, Amanda and Joe, are so kind and really go above and beyond! The food is also delicious!!
The Villa is incredible! Our stay was perfect! Amanda and Joe are wonderful hosts and made us feel incredible welcome. Joe's cooking is beyond, with the amazing muffins, decedent breakfasts, and Saturday night dinner. We cannot wait to stay at the Villa again!
Our stay could not have gone any better. 10 out of 10 for this BEAUTIFUL spot. The villa itself and room we stayed in was incredible. The outdoor areas are also fantastic. Can’t wait to stay there again!
We could not have had a more perfect stay during our weekend at The Villa. The hosts Joe and Amanda treated us to their incredibly warm hospitality (and a series of absolutely decedent and amazing meals) and made us feel like family. It’s obvious the property has been built and designed with love and care - not only from the impeccable interiors, but the small details that make a huge difference like heated bathroom tiled floors, fluffy robes and chocolate cookies. Thanks so much Amanda and Joe for a truly memorable stay! We can’t wait to return!
