Just two hours from New York City, The Villa at Saugerties resides on 3.6 acres of pastoral grounds including two streams, a lily pond, and grand willows. The romance lies in the sundrenched gardens with its wooded backdrop, local and seasonal dining indoors and out, private patios, forty foot swimming pool, and fireplaces in each guest room - a timeless, Mediterranean modern oasis in the Hudson Valley. Each intimate guest room is a getaway unto itself with king or queen beds dressed in luxurious linens, hand laid Moroccan tiled bathrooms with marble sinks, and deep soaking tubs or walk-in showers. Cable television, Apple tv, and complimentary wifi are among some of the additional amenities offered. Varied four season activities nearby include hiking, biking, skiing, snowboarding, kayaking, golfing, indoor and outdoor tennis, HITS (horse show in the sun), apple/pumpkin picking, antiquing, and strolling the grounds here and beyond. Visit the farmers markets, waterfalls, and art galleries, or experience some of the great music and restaurants in Saugerties and the surrounding areas including Woodstock, Hunter, Catskill, and Hudson.

Detailed Reviews
The most special couple and experience. Joe and Amanda were unbelievable hosts, incredible incredible cooks, and thoughtful to every last detail. If you’re looking for a getaway weekend that’s close to NY (and especially if you’re looking to make up your vacation overseas) this is definitely the place!! Make sure to ask for the tomato rubbed sourthdough bread 🙃

Amanda and Ed set out to "make people happy" and they succeed. They labored for six years to build a sanctuary of peace and quiet in the middle of a beautifully landscaped parcel of land on the edge of the Catskill Mountains. Ex Food Channel manager Ed creates a sumptuous breakfast daily. Amanda says she doesn't know much about gardening. Don't believe her. She's as much of a master with grasses, herbs, and flowering plants as she is with the interior design of the Villa.
Dinner Saturday nights is an extravaganza. BYOB means you can splurge on the wine. Just four lovely rooms. Saugerties is full of good restaurants and nearby town of Hudson is now restored to its past beauty.
Also close are the towns of Rhinebeck, the historic homes of painters Thomas Cole and Frederick Church, waterfalls, hiking paths.

Response from Amanda Zaslow, Owner at The Villa at Saugerties
Responded Apr 8, 2021
Ina, It was such a pleasure to meet you and Maury last fall! I apologize for the late response -- crazy times!! You are too kind, and it was truly our pleasure to spend time talking with you (especially about food ;) and your travels. Can't wait to see you again -- maybe next time with Bonnie and Lew! Joe and I send you our best for a beautiful spring, and hope you are both well and staying safe. Better times ahead! xo

We had was such a wonderful time at the Villa. Amanda and Joe are such lovely, kind people, it was so nice to get to know them. The property is quiet and beautiful even in the dead of winter. The house is impeccably decorated, clean, and comfortable. The rooms had a private patio, fireplace, heated bathroom floors, and an amazing soaking tub! The homemade food was incredible and every meal was better than going out to eat! We felt very safe desfpitethe pandemic. They always kept their distance, wore masks, and the place was impeccable! Would return again!

The Villa at Saugerties is a dream. Where do we begin? The breakfasts were phenomenal and inventive. Each morning we had something different and were excited to see what Joe was cooking up. Amanda and Joe are both the most gracious hosts - they will go out of their way to make their guests comfortable and give great recs for the area as well. The B&B itself is BEAUTIFUL - love the interior decor and it's spotless. The rooms had nice amenities as well which were a great touch. The pool area was amazing and a great place to relax after our daily hikes. Still thinking about how great the weekend was. We cannot wait to go back!!

My wife and I just returned from a weekend away in the Hudson Valley, and the best part was The Villa at Saugerties!
Joe and Amanda are the most welcoming gracious hosts. Everything about the property was expertly designed with every detail considered. Stylish and cozy, amazing light fixtures, and unique materials throughout. We felt so comfortable and settled into a vacation mode right away!
We had meals at several restaurants in the Valley, but the best dining experience was breakfast each morning at the Villa! They prepared the most delicious dishes that we'll always remember. As Joe and Amanda shared their vision for the property it was clear their goal was achieved in creating such a beautiful space where their guests feel totally at peace and and wanting to return!

We have never met better B &B owners than Amanda and Joe. They are warm, friendly and totally professional. The house is impeccably decorated and feels like a second home. The food served is as good as you’ll find anywhere. This is a five star B & B. Don’t skip dinner if it’s served on Saturday night.

Amanda and Joe are amazing hosts and total professionals. They really made us feel like we were family and at home on our honeymoon. Everything down to the tiniest detail was perfect. The food was delicious every morning, such a great start to the day. They're recommendations for hikes or things to do in the area were spot on, and the general vibe of being at the Villa was so calm, inviting, and zen. A true Oasis in the Hudson Valley.

I cannot rave enough about this place! I tell all of my friends in NYC about it. I've stayed here twice now with my then fiance and now husband. Joe and Amanda are the two kindest people you will ever meet and the greatest hosts!
I came here in July and the property is perfectly situated to explore the nearby towns and do outdoorsy fun things like paddle boarding or hiking. Also in close proximity to Hudson and Woodstock, both of which have great restaurants and fun things to do. Amanda is a wealth of information and is great at helping find things to do if you are ever in need. Joe is an incredible chef who creates delicious, healthy, and wholesome foods with a variety of flavors.
Breakfast is included and that's been a highlight of both of our trips out here! We more recently came in October for our mini-moon and the grounds are absolutely stunning in the fall. Definitely recommend to anyone and everyone! Best for couples or families, you will not be disappointed!!

We have been refreshed and restored.
The Villa at Saugerties is a beautiful, exquisitely designed place...both in the rooms and the gardens. You feel nature's presence from the pink and white peonies in the room to the quiet bird calls and the willows in the garden where we shared our meals.
Amanda and Joe are warm, caring people who take delight in getting to know their guests. They ask for individual food preferences. Delicious meals are creatively prepared and served with pride.
Thank you, Amanda and Joe, for giving us unique moments in time we will long remember.

Amazing experience from start to finish. The grounds and the house are beautiful with such an attention to details. Amanda and Joe always go to an extra length to make us feel comfortable. The food was the best we’ve had in the area and elevated the experience even further. It just doesn’t get better than this!

Hello - We offer a super beautiful full healthy brunch included with your stay, every day. On some Saturday evenings we offer our guests a special prix fixe dinner in the gardens (weather depending). We do not have a restaurant for additional meals. Fortunately there are lots of fabulous restaurants nearby in Saugerties (10 min), Woodstock (15 min), Kingston (20 min), and Hudson (30 min), and we are happy to help you plan an itinerary or offer suggestions based on your dietary preferences ;) Feel free to shoot me an email if you'd like to learn more! Very best - Amanda
Hi there! I'll be happy to send you pics, rates, and details. You can email me through our website (Tripadvisor doesn't allow us to include our email address here for some reason), and I'll send you everything you need ;)
Of course! Tripadvisor does not allow links in this section, but our email address is posted near our name at the top of the page next to our address and phone number. If you just click on the little envelope, you can email us directly ;)
Although we love dogs, I’m afraid we are not able to accommodate them at The Villa. There are some boarding options nearby, or if you would like recommendations for places to stay that can accommodate dogs, shoot me an email and I’ll be happy to help!
