We spent three nights at the Villa at Saugerties. The property is impeccably designed and the owners, Amanda and Joe, are warm and make you feel at home. The room we stayed in had a beautiful patio where we sat with our morning coffee or relaxed after a day of hiking and town hoping in the area. They have a delicious brunch prepared for you each morning and a dinner on Saturday night. This gave us ample opportunity to explore food in the area, but made the trip so much more relaxing to know we could sleep in and have yummy meal each morning. We can't wait to return!
Amanda and Ed set out to "make people happy" and they succeed. They labored for six years to build a sanctuary of peace and quiet in the middle of a beautifully landscaped parcel of land on the edge of the Catskill Mountains. Ex Food Channel manager Ed creates a sumptuous breakfast daily. Amanda says she doesn't know much about gardening. Don't believe her. She's as much of a master with grasses, herbs, and flowering plants as she is with the interior design of the Villa. Dinner Saturday nights is an extravaganza. BYOB means you can splurge on the wine. Just four lovely rooms. Saugerties is full of good restaurants and nearby town of Hudson is now restored to its past beauty. Also close are the towns of Rhinebeck, the historic homes of painters Thomas Cole and Frederick Church, waterfalls, hiking paths.…
The Villa is the perfect place for a relaxing getaway. The property is beautiful and charming, and the rooms are private and luxurious. The owners, Amanda and Joe, are so kind and really go above and beyond! The food is also delicious!!
The Villa is incredible! Our stay was perfect! Amanda and Joe are wonderful hosts and made us feel incredible welcome. Joe's cooking is beyond, with the amazing muffins, decedent breakfasts, and Saturday night dinner. We cannot wait to stay at the Villa again!
