Triple 5 stars!
Like virtually everyone, we were hesitant to leave the safety of our home in the midst of Covid, but also desperate for a change of scenery. I actually stumbled on The Villa at Saugerties through random searching online, and was immediately intrigued. My husband and I spent 5 days there in August, and booked a return trip in October before we even departed!
The Villa is beautiful — exquisitely landscaped and clearly nurtured with a lot of love from the owners, Joe and Amanda (who could not be more lovely and welcoming). The rooms are beautifully furnished, w comfortable bedding, large bathrooms, extra amenities — what you would expect in a luxury setting. But importantly for these times, we felt incredibly safe and comfortable throughout our visit. With just 4 guest rooms, there is more than enough room to socially distance, while also enjoying the company of other guests each morning for a 5 star breakfast prepared by Joe, as well as dinner with the other guests on Saturday night, an extra treat also prepared by Joe. The Villa also has a beautifully landscaped pool area (we spent lots of time getting gardening tips from Amanda!) where social distancing was also not a problem. We loved the area, and traveled to different towns each day we were there and tried different restaurants each night. Even outdoor dining in the area — which we are hesitant to do at home — felt safe and secure, with more than 6 ft between tables everywhere we went, and all servers in masks.
We can’t wait for our return visit, and while I am so grateful for the gracious, friendly and warm hospitality Amanda and Joe offered in the midst of a pandemic, I look forward to visiting mask-free one day!

My boyfriend and I spent the July 4th long weekend at Villa at Saugerties. We have traveled all around the world, stayed at some of the nicest places and Villa at Saugerties ranks as one of the best experiences. It is beautifully designed and decorated with the entire place filled with stylish and tasteful touches. The rooms are super comfortable, the bathroom was stylishly with a rain shower, chic/quaint balcony, a designer fireplace and a mini fridge filled with treats. The pool area is elegant, tranquil and transports you to somewhere in Europe. The food was AMAZING, especially the breakfasts! Exceptional farm-to-table fare that will rival any top NYC restaurant. The best part of our stay was the hospitality and company of Joe and Amanda. Incredibly thoughtful hosts that go out of their way to make sure you have a safe and unforgettable experience. We will definitely go back! As my boyfriend says, it’s a place so special that you don’t want to tell anyone about but also want to tell everyone about! Note, this place was featured in the latest Departures magazine.

We booked the last weekend in September to get a break from the city. The Villa at Saugerties provided an amazing escape from the city; the premises were beautiful and spotless, Joe and Amanda were wonderfully welcoming hosts, and the food was excellent. With only four rooms and a maximum of eight guests, it felt both safe and warm and inviting. There's a lovely pool that Joe and Amanda kept open well into September, and while it wasn't a great time to sunbathe, it provided some very refreshing swims. The food at the Villa was fantastic, and of course the surrounding times have some of the best restaurants in the state.

We can't say enough about our amazing experience at Amanda and Joe's villa for a honeymoon after our microwedding. We've been extremely cautious about pandemic outings, and Amanda and Joe seem to have taken every precaution possible to make this as safe a getaway for guests as possible. The space itself is extraordinary - it's the most beautifully decorated interior and exterior space we've stayed in - the charm of a European getaway and the upscale amenities of luxury American travel. The food is worthy of any five star restaurant. What puts it over the top, though, is Amanda and Joe's incredible hospitality and generosity with their guests - from Amanda's patience in explaining COVID protocols and providing local recommendations, to Joe's healthy and delicious breakfasts and the fabulous Saturday night dinner, to all of the thoughtful touches and amenities throughout the entire experience. Their passion for hosting was evident in every part of our stay. We're so grateful to have discovered the villa and would stay again in a heartbeat.

Spent a mother/daughter weekend at the Villa at Saugerties and everything about it was just perfection! Run by couple Amanda and Joe, we were treated to high touch service from the moment I called to book the reservation - I received a lovely email with suggestions of all the local things to do and she spent time on the phone with me to discuss itinerary and any special requests.

The Villa is clearly a labor of love - every single detail is just perfection - every design element by Amanda and every food decision by Joe. There are 4 rooms, each uniquely decorated with beautiful custom pieces. We had Room 1 which had a gorgeous sage colored bed, navy chair and an antique looking crackled oval mirror on the wall. The view of the lush outside gardens was spectacular and we enjoyed time sitting around their lovely pool. The main floor also has an elegant sitting area and a large round table so plenty of spaces to do work or just enjoy some quiet time.

We also LOVED the food. Joe is a pro in the kitchen and seems to love preparing scrumptious meals for his guests. Each morning he prepares an elaborate breakfast and on Saturday eve there is dinner. Every meal was a mix of interesting flavors, textures and colors. I tried things I have never had before and I loved every single bite!

This was a much needed trip after a very long time apart and we enjoyed our stay so much. Thank you to Amanda and Joe!

The Villa at Saugerties was perfection. Nestled in a quiet, country landscape, you're not far from charming Hudson Valley towns, with good restaurants, cute shops, and old-fashioned character. You're also within short drives of beautiful hikes and nature trails. That is... if you even care to leave the homey and special atmosphere Amanda and Joe have created at the Villa. The inn is clean, cozy, and welcoming. Each detail has been hand-selected, from the soft woven linens on the bed, to the special Japanese flower arrangement on the large, circular communal dining table. Even more important than the decor, Amanda and Joe make you feel like family. They are beyond friendly, open to provide recommendations on your plans or just have a cup of coffee with you while sharing the story of how the Villa became what it is today! I still smile when I think of Amanda pushing the most delicious peach schnapps cake into my hand as I left (she knew I loved it). It's these gestures that make The Villa stand out. Finally, I'd be crazy not to mention the incredible food that we had each morning and one night for dinner. From perfectly sugared scones to uniquely spiced baked eggs, and bubbly morning cocktails, it was such a treat. We loved enjoying the meals with the other guests before going our separate ways. I can't say enough wonderful things about this haven.

The Villa at Saugerties is a dreamy escape in the Hudson Valley that offers a most special and memorable stay. Amanda and Joe have designed a serene, well-appointed 4-room home base with comfortable guest rooms (remote fireplaces! heated bathroom floors!) and beautiful surroundings (pool! exquisite landscaping!). They are such warm, thoughtful, and helpful hosts and the meals are sublime: Joe cooks flavorful, inventive, and bountiful breakfasts and one very special dinner (opt in for this!). All the food is seasonal and veggie-forward. Staying there is an idyllic, unique experience that totally transports you — no aesthetic detail is overlooked and Amanda offers thorough recommendations for things to do in the area. Explore nearby towns (Woodstock, Hudson) but make sure you bask in the lovely environment Amanda and Joe have created.

We could not have had a more perfect stay during our weekend at The Villa. The hosts Joe and Amanda treated us to their incredibly warm hospitality (and a series of absolutely decedent and amazing meals) and made us feel like family. It’s obvious the property has been built and designed with love and care - not only from the impeccable interiors, but the small details that make a huge difference like heated bathroom tiled floors, fluffy robes and chocolate cookies. Thanks so much Amanda and Joe for a truly memorable stay! We can’t wait to return!

We spent three nights at the Villa at Saugerties. The property is impeccably designed and the owners, Amanda and Joe, are warm and make you feel at home. The room we stayed in had a beautiful patio where we sat with our morning coffee or relaxed after a day of hiking and town hoping in the area. They have a delicious brunch prepared for you each morning and a dinner on Saturday night. This gave us ample opportunity to explore food in the area, but made the trip so much more relaxing to know we could sleep in and have yummy meal each morning. We can't wait to return!

We love staying here! My husband and I have stayed here several times, with our most recent trip being in late August. The rooms and property are beautiful, the food is incredible, and Amanda and Joe are such wonderful hosts. Like many, we've been cautious about going anywhere during the pandemic, but we knew Amanda and Joe would go above and beyond with the safety precautions, and they did. We highly recommend staying here!

Hello - We offer a super beautiful full healthy brunch included with your stay, every day. On some Saturday evenings we offer our guests a special prix fixe dinner in the gardens (weather depending). We do not have a restaurant for additional meals. Fortunately there are lots of fabulous restaurants nearby in Saugerties (10 min), Woodstock (15 min), Kingston (20 min), and Hudson (30 min), and we are happy to help you plan an itinerary or offer suggestions based on your dietary preferences ;) Feel free to shoot me an email if you'd like to learn more! Dog friendly?
Saugerties, New York3 contributions
Although we love dogs, I’m afraid we are not able to accommodate them at The Villa. There are some boarding options nearby, or if you would like recommendations for places to stay that can accommodate dogs, shoot me an email and I’ll be happy to help!
