I booked two nights while traveling on business and discovered on the first night that their guest Wi-Fi (secure) does not work in my room and that the affiliated Tavern restaurant would not serve their standard menu because the kitchen was only set up for their prix-fixe holiday dinner ($$$$). I would have been better off at a two-star chain hotel.
Absolute surprise! Had a weekend trip planned for Destination Defender 2022. Found this gem in Saugerities NY. Clean like brand new clean. Room was filled with amenities including a heated bathroom floor, heat lamp with blower, full bar in fridge, snacks and even Chocolates left by the bed. Comfortable, cozy and clean, clean, clean. BTW- did I say the place was like brand new clean. What a pleasant surprise, I just wish I had a reason to stay longer. All guest workers inside were very friendly and accommodating. Met Jamie on the way out this morning; what a gentleman- I recommend this gem to anyone who needs to stay in the area. Will go back just to visit the hotel and just to try the tavern next time. Cheers to Diamond Mills- *****
What a wonderful hotel and the staff is fantastic. They were accommodating and Jaime went above and beyond even serenading us with his guitar while we waited for the bus to pick us up to attend my son's wedding. Highly recommend this beautiful hotel.
We just returned to NJ from a wonderful stay at the Diamond Hills Hotel where we stayed for a wedding at one of their nearby property (Saugerties Steamboat Co). Diamond Mills Hotel is a charming boutique hotel. Our king room and bath were specious and well appointed. The decor is far more charming than can be appreciated from the website photos. The facility is a well-done renovation of an old mill from a bygone era. The architecture affords incredible balcony views of the waterfalls. All facilities exceeded our expectations. We regret that we did not have the time to stay for more than one night, but hope to plan a trip back here in the future.
Upon check in we were assisted by Arielle who was sweet enoughh to contact us when our room became available a little earlier than expected. That was a huge help because we had limited time to get ready for an on premise wedding. Jamie who helped us with our luggage was very friendly and helpful. And Terry was a wealth of information about local sites to see and things to do. I highly recommended this lovely property.
They had me stay in 3 separate rooms for a three night stay because they couldn’t figure out how to coordinate rooms better. I understand it was a busy weekend, but they should have compensated me in some way for having limited access to the rooms . I had to check out at 11am every day and back in at 4pm, and they did not offer me any type of discount for this huge inconvenience. The housekeeping staff was excellent, and the food was very good, but the manager, Gina, was never available at the hotel when I asked to speak to her (several times). And when I finally contacted her via email, she was not accommodating. She had the nerve to tell me it was my fault for not booking a year in advance. Instead of just offering me any type of discount, or even a free dinner, she chose to make excuses and blame the paying customer. Terrible terrible management skills. This place is definitely not the Four Seasons.…
We stayed in the Tower Suite for 3 nights and it was perfect. Two floors; two full bathrooms; the heated bathroom floors is a real plus. It is all very clean, modern and comfortable. The patio is large enough to gether and the view was perfect. The staff was helpful and accomodating. We could walk to shops, restaurants, coffee shops etc. Convenient location in an adorable town. We took several day trips hiking. The Tavern restaurant is wonderful also with great views inside or outside.
This was our fourth stay at Diamond Mills Hotel and each one has been a happy and enjoyable experience . The hotel is beautifully designed and decorated ,has a tranquil waterside setting , is immaculately clean and is run and maintained at a five star level . Once again all at the Hotel , general manager Gina , front desk manager Sylvia and the housekeeping and front desk staff made sure all was well during our stay and were a pleasure to be around . Looking forward to our next visit . Patty & Peter Scharfenberger
I was staying one night. Multiple rooms were reserved for a wedding. They had my money for 10 months which is when I booked the reservation. My husband came down with Covid 2 days before so I immediately canceled. Their policy was no refunds less than 3 days b4. The women who answered the phone, Ariel I think, told me the manager agreed that I could book a later date. She asked me what date and I asked her if I could let her know as I was at work and had to check with my husband who was sick with Covid. She said fine and I should call back as soon as I could. I called back 7 business days later and was told that the Offer had been rescinded.bc I had not called back with dates in 5 business days. I contacted the manager Gina and told her I never was told I had to respond in 5 business dates. I also indicated that I wanted to add 2 additional days to the one I was promised and I provided her with dates but indicated I was flexible if the dates did not work for them. . Despite admitting in her email that I never was told I needed to provide dates in 5 bussness days she still refused to honor her verbal agreement. She said 5 days was reasonable which wasn’t the issue! I was never told this was their policy that was the issue . She also said I prevented her from booking the room to someone else because I hadn’t called back in the 5 days. This was totatally ludicrous since they weren’t holding any dates for me! Gina took advantage when I was caring for my husband who has underlying health issues and was very sick with Covid. Gina needs a lesson not only in customer service but in treating people decently. Unfortunately I have no recourse with my cc co. since the bill was paid back in august . It will be a cold day in hell before I stay at Diamond Mills.…
Supper boutique-y hotel with probably less than 30 rooms. All rooms face the falls. Rooms go from 1-10 with 10 being rooms closest to the falls. I don’t want to ruin any surprises, but the lobby will keep you busy with amenities not mentioned on the website! Not sure if it’s nightly, but we had a wine and cheese welcome between 4-5:30 at their on property restaurant, The Tavern. Room was perfect! Warmed radiant heated floors in the bathroom (and you can adjust the heat). 2 sinks too!!! Bathrobes we’re heavy but proved perfect when sitting out on the balcony after sundown. We had dinner from The Tavern and ate on the balcony - lovely!! Heavy on rules (when you check in), but it’s what makes this spot top notch! You are close enough to take a short stroll (uphill at times) to the ‘main drag’, where stores and restaurants aplenty greet you (a movie theater too!) Con: outside of 306 is the ice maker-we heard it 3 rooms down and it was loud. I would gather that the ice machines are outside of all 06 rooms.…
