My husband and I escaped the heat wave enveloping NYC and headed up to Saugerties for a weekend. We spent two nights at the Renwick Clifton House and could not have been happier. The house has been gorgeously restored and is in impeccable condition. It has a wonderful setting with a view of the Hudson River, and the interiors and... More

Can't think of a finer place to stay ! You might find it hard to leave the backyard terrace, where rocking chairs and glorious open views serve as the backdrop to an elegantly served breakfast by the very gracious, warm and friendly hosts ! We stayed in the Mary Powell suite, which is very bright and cheery with beautiful sunrises!... More

So happy we chose to stay here! The proprietors, Eric and Miriam, could not be more accommodating. It's a beautiful old house (200 years & extremely well kept) with a fantastic view of the Hudson. The breakfasts are incredible and the room we stayed in was fabulous. A perfect weekend getaway!

As far as I'm concerned, a five star rating is not nearly high enough for the stately and elegant, yet cozy and comfortable Renwick Clifton house. Eric and Miriam, the lovely owners, are two warm, knowledgeable and talented people who have enabled extraordinary numbers of us to experience a B&B that is truly special. This is a place where all... More

I needed to be in town for a family event. I called last minute looking for a room and Miriam could not of been more helpful. We have a long drive and our event was an all day gathering - so I asked if we could check in / drop off bags early and they graciously accommodated us. Our room... More

Have had an amazing visit to Saugerties and the surrounding Catskills area. But top on the list of wonderful experiences has been out three night stay here at Renwick Clifton House with our hosts Eric and Miriam. The house is only a mile walk to town yet nestled very privately and quietly away from all the town noise with a... More

Where to begin? From the moment we walked in to foyer of the charming 200 year old mansion I knew we were in for something special. The attention to detail in every room oozed class, comfort, and content! Breakfast were served in a elegent dinning room befitting a King and Queen and the breakfasts were scrumptious! The Mary Powell Room... More

Innkeepers, Miriam and Eric, were welcoming and very knowledgable of the historical area around their large beautiful home. Our room was elegantly and classically appointed, (and equipped with a modern bathroom). We also had a view of the Hudson from our bedroom window! The inn, built in 1812, was clean and bright, and also with a library for the guests... More

Stayed three nights in the Chancellor Livingstone room at the end of our road trip around New York state in early October. We arrived on a Saturday evening around 4.30 to find no one in and seemingly no way of getting in. Luckily another couple staying pulled up and knew the code for the main front door. Behind the outer... More

Overlooking Hudson, this is a good, though a bit high-end, choice for a short stay. The hosts are friendly and accommodating, the breakfasts tasty, made to order, and beautifully presented. Not a great walk into town, but a very short and easy ride.
