Longfellow's couldn't be easier to get to. It's right off Exit 14 of I-87. In suburban, almost rural setting, it's surprisingly convenient to the heart of Saratoga Springs. It's not a big property, and the staff are very accommodating. The rooms are comfortable, although not exactly spacious, and the amenities lean toward the sparse. If you need blindingly fast internet, a rich assortment of TV choices in the room, a sumptuous breakfast to get you out the door, a pool, sauna and pro-style exercise facilities, consider another choice. On the other hand, quiet and basic comfort make Longfellow's a good alternative to the big-box cookie-cutter hotels that abound in the area.
Run, don't walk to a different hotel. Rooms were over $440 per night, which was more than other hotels that are in town. Hallway smells like weed, restaurant is closed, housekeeping service is by phone request before 9:00am. We missed that HSKP notification card on the desk, but spoke directly to the room attendant about requested service. I t never happened. There were people sitting on lawn chairs having a tailgate party from early morning until past 10:00 pm. All weekend it was like this. Our room was large, but we paid a lot than I thought because when you book online, they only charge for the first night. Shuttle bus drivers were terrific. But that's about all that was good about this stay.
Everyone at Longfellows has a smile and are very accommodating. The rooms are very spacious and have everything you need for your stay. Making reservations for the restaurant were easily made and the food made you want more. I had the filet mignon and it was cooked to perfection. The shuttle to the track and downtown were an added bonus. I will recommend Longfellows to my family and friends.
This was our second time staying here and it was perfect. We were going to SPAC and they had a shuttle that was available on Friday and Saturday. The staff was friendly and they offered a continental breakfast. The rooms were large and very clean. They also had a on premise restaurant but we didn’t eat here this time.
Impromptu weekend get away and I'm so glad we found this place. Stayed in one of the suites which was spacious clean and cozy. They offer a shuttle service Friday and Saturdays from 4 to 11 which is great especially if you want to go into town and not deal with parking or just enjoy a dinner with cocktails. Had dinner in the restaurant on premise on Friday and dinners and service were on point. Loved the natural wood burning fireplaces in the restaurant and overall feel of the whole place. It was very welcoming. We plan on going back for sure!
I booked this establishment from Wisconsin over a month ago strictly going on previous reviews. I can honestly say with 100% certainty that all reviews were correct. Our room was a loft king in the original “barn” section. Our room was immaculate, quite and the bed was oh so comfortable! The bathroom was huge with all new updated Kohler bathroom stuff, even had a spa/jacuzzi bathtub. My husband ultimately left is watch there. I got an email from Shari asking if we left it and could they mail it to our home. I said yes and asked how much I owed them for postage. Haven’t heard anything back on that so I’m assuming they’re doing it as a courtesy. We also had dinner at their restaurant, the food and service was excellent. If we ever travel to this area again, we will definitely stay here again!! Excellent place!…
My partner and I stayed there 2 or 3 times before and always liked it. It’s gone downhill since. Our party had three rooms. One of our rooms’ refrigerator contained food from the last guests’ stay. The rooms were musty. We couldn’t open our patio door. The “breakfast” consisted of packaged donuts and bagels. The coffee ran out. The second day, our rooms were not made up. When I complained to the desk, the clerk said we should have been told at check-in that we had to request housekeeping services before 9:00am. No one told us that. I heard other guests complaining about the same issue. A group of tailgaters had set up pickups, lawn chairs and coolers right next to the front door of the hotel. They were there the entire weekend. I would never stay there again.
We didn't stay here in terms of lodging, but took my in-laws for dinner after a day at the racetrack. The service was good. Very friendly and accommodating. Food was delicious as well. We all left with very happy and full bellies. We were seated on the lower level, neat "old school" feel with lots of wooden beams, etc. Overall happy with the experience.
Longfellows Hotel has been a great disappointment. No housekeeping service during stay - still blaming covid. Been here 4 days. No trash collected. No dirty towels collected. Hard to get clean towels when requested. No shuttle service. Breakfast is a brown bag collection of small juices andprepacked muffins left at ourdoor. No room service. Adjacent restaurant- which was great- doesn’t open til3:30 if at all. Today they are “shutting down” the hotel at 4. All hotel employees are off duty at 4. No one here at all. They have locked the front door at 4 and you have to enter thru rear door. Totally bizarre
This was our third stay over the past 5 years. The first experience was excellent, two years later it was acceptable, and this past weekend was barely acceptable. We arrived at 3:07pm when the room is "guaranteed to be ready" by 3pm, which it was not. After 10 minutes to confirm it, we were told it would about 25 minutes and to come back. The front desk employee finally used a kind tone when she was delivering the bad news. We were offered no place to hang out or leave our luggage. So, we returned to our car and drove around for forty minutes. We returned, waited in line (moved quickly) and the newish employee didn't apologize or give us any information on stay (room number, breakfast, etc.). We listened to the other employee's spiel so we understood a little bit about the accommodations. We received no direction on where the room was (half the 100s are on Level 1 and the other half on the Conference Level). I asked about the shuttle (great perk from the last two trips) and was told they don't have it up and running yet. Again, no alternative solution was given and was just another "see you later." The room was nice, but the screen door was busted and the cigarette bin on the patio was not emptied. Losing one hour to reset ourselves when the room wasn't ready (after a very hectic morning/afternoon) carried over into the evening and took away from our one-night trip to Saratoga.…
