We've been enjoying our summer visits here for over a decade! The owners are friendly, very accommodating and they go out of their way to make sure their guests are happy. Rooms are always clean and comfortable. Great location in the heart of Saranac Lake: easy walk to Main Street, swimming at Colby or Clear lakes, easy boat access to Flower lake and just a 10 minute drive to Lake Placid and half hour to Wild Center. Very reasonable rates. You'll be happy you stayed.
Excellent service. Owners Edie and Joe were very welcoming and accommodating with delicious coffee in the office every morning. They know a lot about the area and had good suggestions for dining and activities. They are 2 wonderful people with great sense of humor! Their dog "Tristan" was delightful and very friendly. For non-dog people, meeting him is optional. The room was large and spotlessly clean. Very comfortable beds. Nice and quiet. Walking distance to town of Saranac Lake and very convenient to Lake Placid, Whiteface and Tupper Lake Wild Center.
We enjoyed our one night stopover here on our way from NH to visit friends further west. Very clean, neat and well maintained property. Close to downtown and fit the bill for what we were looking for. Great hosts and very helpful to us about getting to know the area. We would definitely stay here again.
Because of a family commitment that required getting up at 4:00 AM and taking care of grandchildren, we couldn't come from our home 45 miles away and needed a good bed minutes away from our daughter's house. Through this past winter, we depended upon the hospitality of Evie and Joe for one night almost every week. Amanda's is well furnished, cozy, and immaculate. It is located in the heart of Saranac Lake, right where you need to be to take advantage of the town's many attractions. Not fancy, but economical and very comfortable.
We had a wonderful experience at this motel over Martin Luther King weekend. The place was very clean, quaint, and close to downtown. A true Saranac Lake experience. The owners were super nice! Will stay there again for sure.
Beware lack of information. Tried first to cancel Wednesday at 7 for Friday and Saturday nights, told no. No cancellation within 72 hours. Cancellation charge as soon as you make reservation. Attempted to call at 8pm to let them know we were running late and would arrive at 9, no answer. Closed when we arrived. Male owner came to the door and was noticeably bothered by my presence. Told at check-in room couldn’t accommodate myself, 17 yo son and 10 yo daughter. I was offered a different room at 50% increase. I declined and asked they not charge me. He said no and told me leave but he was going to charge me. I picked up the information card he was having me fill out to take with me. He reached over the counter and grabbed it from my hands. I was shocked and began recording the interaction on my phone. His wife came out and began yelling at me. She told me to get out and not come back, as if I would want to!! Owner flipped me off and used inappropriate language. He has quite a temper. Will update if they try to charge me…
I love this place. Joe and Edie are the loveliest people. They want to help you with anything you need them for. When a friend left his hat in a restaurant in town, Joe went and got it and mailed it to my friend. They got up at 3 am so we would have coffee before going out birding at 3:30 am. The rooms are ample and clean. I can't say enough.
Convenient to the lake and downtown, very clean, comfortable beds (I'm picky!), the well-appointed room had everything I needed with excellent air conditioning which was much needed during a record-breaking hot spell in the Adirondacks. The owners went out of their way to provide amenities such as early morning coffee, extra towels, and even fresh baked cookies in the room. Thumbs up!
Joe and Edie are lovely people. They really took good care of their customers. They even took the extra step to get back my cap that I left behind an restaurant and mailed it back to me. Thank you Joe and Edie!
In all of my travels, Joe and Edie, Amanda's Village owners, are two of the most cordial people I've ever met. They take tremendous pride in this charming property; their care and dedication are obvious. I've just completed a wonderful two night stay in Room 7; it was very nicely decorated. comfortable, and absolutely immaculate. The motel's location is superb; numerous restaurants, shops, and activities are within walking distance. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and would definitely recommend this property to those who need accommodations in this lovely part of the Adirondack region.
