What a beautiful fun, in the process of being lovingly re-created as a b&b by the owner, Fred. We enjoyed walking the neighborhood. The bed was fabulous, and breakfast divine. The amazing home is craftsman style architecture, with stunning woodwork. The lighting is authentic to the period, which is lovely but makes it very hard to read in the room.... More

The Porcupine Inn is a charming, historic B&B just minutes from Main Street in Saranac Lake. The owner, Fred, is a gregarious host. He caters to all your needs and is willing to share his vast knowledge of the history of the Porcupine Inn as well other notable historic homes in the area. His love of art and antiques is... More

We ventured into the area without a plan, as it was our first time in the Adirondacks and we lucked out for sure. The Inn is gorgeous, homey, and has so much history. Fred really goes above and beyond and instantly you can't help but join in on the love he has for the inn. He gave us great recommendations... More

We were warming welcomed with a glass of prosecco, the house is extraordinary and impressive in it's size. It was fun to explore the nooks and crannies especially because it is furnished with one of a kind pieces. Although very large, the inn is homey and comfortable. Fred makes it a priority to ensure you feel relaxed and taken care... More

Don't miss staying at the Porcupine Inn! What a wonderful experience we had here! The owner, Fred, aquired the place just recently and is putting SO much into restoring the Porcupine to the stately beauty of times gone by. This B&B will exceed your expectations. It is a welcoming, sprawling haven that encourages gatherings in comfortable, well appointed common areas,... More

My wife and I spent two relaxing days enjoying our stay at this retreat in the woods. The host Fred could not have been nicer or more accommodating! The Charles room was beautiful and well appointed. The bed was comfortable and the breakfast was awesome! We look forward to the opportunity to return to this wonderful gem!

My girlfriend and I went up to the Adirondacks for Memorial Day Weekend and had the luck to hit upon this place. We knew we had made the right decision when we walked in and Fred, the amazing owner/operator, immediately poured us glasses of wine. The hospitality was truly above and beyond. Fred made sure we were taken care of... More

Fred is so nice and willing to accommodate your needs. Always quick with a great story about the homes history or about the areas history. My room was perfect, clean, quiet, and very comfortable. I would absolutely visit here again the next time I am in the Saranac Lake/lake Placid area. Thanks Fred for a great stay!

My husband and I took a long Memorial Day weekend to make the trek from Philadelphia up to Saranac Lake. We joined another couple at The Porcupine Inn B&B. From the moment we pulled up to The Porcupine we were surrounded by picturesque mountains and beautiful foliage. The B&B was warm, welcoming, and most of all a great place to... More

We joined another couple in spending an extended Memorial Day weekend within The Porcupine. The experience was amazing and like no other. We've stayed in numerous B&B's, Inn's, and whatnot throughout the country and Europe, yet, The Porcupine was truly top shelf and superior to most. Fred, the owner, truly makes the establishment shine. His exquisite approach to the décor,... More
