I had a really disappointing experience at Baron’s Cove. Reserved a room with two beds and a pullout couch because I was traveling with two friends. The room was $595 incl. taxes for one night which seemed expensive for November but it had three beds so we booked it. When we checked in, we were given a tiny, musty room with one bed for the same price. When I spoke with the assistant manager, she apologized and said there was a misunderstanding. She gave us a different room with one bed and a pullout couch which she “offered” to give for the same price. I went onto their website and showed her that this room was listed for $100 less. The assistant manager refused to honor the price from their website. I told her the whole thing felt like a”bait and switch” to me.

While we like the hotel however I have never been so CHEATED WITH FOOD and DRINK at a resort in recent memory. -COCKTAIL RIPOFF - Cocktails run around $19, are in small glasses and have NO TRACE OF ALCOHOL AT ALL. So be prepared to have a fruit drink for this extreme price in a small glass or bring a flask and tell them to make a real drink if they object. -FOOD RIPOFF - Ordered a chicken wrap at the pool for $19. It was the size of my fist and literally had two small pieces of chicken in it. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind paying but don't rip me off when charging Ritz Carlton prices. -This is clearly a means of maximizing profits (stealing from you) all while you will pay in excess of $500 a night for an entry level claustrophobic room. - SAD

There are many small hotels in Hamptons, but very few share the same high class as Barron's Cove has. It is an old property with good bones and clever design. The similarity with English Private Club in decor and staff's attitude and overall ambiance cannot be missed by those well travelled. The attention to every little detail creates very special and relaxing environment, when quests simply know that all their needs will be taken care of. The Manager, Mario, keeps the ship tight, and he is personally involved in day to day issues, all while not missing a Vision of the big picture for the property. The staff are working very hard, and basically are doing heroic job with all the challenges during the times of covid restrictions. Guests feel very safe, and the staff members never let their guard down while observing all cover protocols. Everyone here is very professional, unlike some other places in Hamptons. One can tell that the staff is very well trained and reminded about protocols every day. We've stayed in this hotel few times over last few years, and we witnessed property upgrades with our own eyes. We learned that Mario will be leaving as he got promoted to work on another big project. We only hope that the new manager will continue with the tradition and the path established by Mario, and the property will keep the same class. The God is in details, and not a single detail in Barron's Cove is forgotten. I

Our stay at Baron’s Cove was wonderful in spite of a rocky start.. It’s located right near the marina and within walking distance from restaurants and shops. It’s very quaint and the décor provides a welcoming and relaxing environment. In addition, the staff was excellent to include the manager (Mario). We stay four days and had excellent meals at the restaurant and enjoyed the pool. My only disappointment was the very small gym… It was our first stay and we’ll be back!

Baron's Cove is a well appointed boutique hotel with lovely marina views and just a 10 minute walk into town. We stayed in one of the harbor view loft rooms with plenty of space, nice views and a spacious balcony. The property itself is compact and charming. Everything was very walkable. Also ate in their lovely dining room and had a great seafood dinner as they are dock to dine. A great find if you are staying in Sag Harbor.
