SHI is a good choice. Excellent location - a block off of the main street on the water (get a harbor view room - it is well worth it) so everything in the small town of SH is very easily accessible via walking yet it is quiet. In an area with exhorbitant prices, even in the off season, this is an extremely good value for the money and is a really good choice. Positives + Room is extremely clean. + Beds / linens are comfortable for good sleep. + Excellent location. + Harbor view and balcony is very restful. + Free parking + Staff is pleasant and helpful, especially the housekeeping people (hard working and usually not appreciated - be sure to tip them well as they deserve it) + Frig in room is empty so you can put your own stuff in it + Counter space with mirror, good lighting, and outlets outside of bathroom so two people can get ready Negatives -- Only 1 luggage rack - this is a big miss for so many hotels. Need two luggage racks! Had to use the long narrow built in counter to put suitcases on. -- Bathroom is tiny. Cannot get in or out of tub unless door is closed. Cannot use toilet unless door is closed. Lighting is dark. -- Breakfast is narrow in scope -- packaged fatty caloric muffins and pastries, stale bread and even more stale bagels, packaged packets of butter and jam, yogurt, small boxes of cereal, milk coffee tea and juice. Nothing healthy and no protein. -- no gym. Sag Harbor Fitness is $30 a day - 4 minute walk away.…
The Sag Harbor Inn is a comfortable, affordable choice if you're visiting Sag Harbor and vicinity. Our room was clean and spacious, though lacking some amenities that are found in pricier hotels. The continental breakfast was adequate but you can do much better at one of the restaurants that open early. If you're staying there in the fall or winter or early spring, go for a harbor view room instead of the pool view (the pool is outside the building so it's covered with a tarp). The staff is friendly and helpful. There's no exercise room at the hotel but you can get a pass to a club in town (currently, it will cost you $30/day). WiFi is free and if you've got heavy luggage there's an elevator (though no bell hops).
Such a cute town! Lots of shops and restaurants and friendly people. The drive going into town from Medford, NY was a nice smooth ride through winding roads once we got off 27. Parking in Sag Harbor was easy since we got there around 10:00 am. There was a parking lot at the end of the street that had 2 hour paid parking. It filled up pretty quickly though so go early. We left Sag Harbor around noon and headed to the Montauk Lighthouse.
What a lovely hidden gem. What I like about the hotel the most is it’s location to Main Street and to local beaches. You can walk to numerous restaurants and the hotel provides a beach pass. While the hotel doesn’t have a restaurant, it does offer free continental breakfast. Rooms come with a frig as well. I actually like the fact it doesn’t have a restaurant as you can enjoy true privacy as the only guests that will be at the hotel will be those staying there. And it doesn’t feel too busy. It’s like you still have your only little slice of heaven. I stayed here as I was In town for a charity event and it was a great experience. The front desk staff from the gentlemen (I think was the manager) to all the lovely ladies that work in reception were very friendly and welcoming! I definitely plan to return and I have already recommend this hotel to others. Great hidden gem. Thanks for a great stay!…
Location is great with just a short walk to town. Exceptionally clean and very friendly professional staff. Free continental breakfast is a nice amenity. Rooms are large, with one sink inside the bathroom and one outside the bathroom. Excellent water pressure when taking a shower. Extra large parking spaces so you don't have to worry about your car getting scratched. Great outdoor patio area to congregate with other guests. Overall, an excellent hotel experience and will make this a regular stay a few times a year.
Such a nice place to stay!! The location is great, very close to Main Street. The view of the harbor is beautiful and calming. The staff is as so incredibly kind and helpful!! We stayed for a week, and enjoyed it very much!! We loved our stay, and we’re going back next month!
The staff was absolutely wonderful, the location can't be beat, they were so accommodating and went out of their way to make sure we were happy! Nice to see and have that old fashioned customer service that seems to be a lost art these days! Also, prior to our arrival they were great in helping us choose a room was easily accessible for my mom who has trouble walking long distances!
I stayed here for 3 nights in May 2021 with 3 college friends. We were welcomed warmly upon arrival. Our rooms were 2nd floor harbor view with 2 double beds. The balconies were very nice and overlooked the harbor. We appreciated the two sinks in the room - one inside the bathroom and one outside so my friend and I could both get ready at the same time. The room was decent sized and clean. The beds were comfortable. We loved being able to walk everywhere, but the location of the hotel is quiet. Some people in other reviews complained about noise - we did not hear anything from other rooms and I think the hotel was full when we were there. Coffee was delicious every morning and we appreciated the grab and go yogurts, juice, and bars for breakfast. Staff was super friendly - every time we came back they asked where we had been and if we had fun. John nicely filled our water bottles each morning with water from the kitchen. The hotel is not fancy, but it was good and clean and the price and location were great. If I ever come back to Sag Harbor, I would definitely stay there again. …
Its a cute location with some rooms overlooking the water. Surprisingly rooms on the second floor are more expensive. The beds are out dated. It is in walking distance of the village. The walls were very thin and you could hear people talking. They serve coffee, tea and hot coco all day. Breakfast is complimentary with Chopin yogurt, Hidden Valley Granola bars, fruit cups and sweet pastry's.
Unfriendly, even rude staff: Zero interest in guests, not vested in the hospitality experience. They are purely functional. “Breakfast” consists of Keurig coffee pods, pre-packaged “gas station” style, sealed Danish pastries, high fructose pre packaged fruit cups: and that’s it. They will probably use the “Covid” excuse, but in reality, the hotel owners cut costs wherever they can; hence no coffee makers in the rooms; no laundry bags: no cups. Room itself is very very basic: Cape Cod/low end Hamptons meets 1970’s Home Depot. Cheapness personified : bed linens are polyester, with foam pillows. Deck furniture is dated. Outside deck is shared with another room. Zero privacy. Plumbing is dreadful - every flush, every shower, every tap turning is heard. Thin walls, floors are wooden: so the sound of footsteps, snoring, coughing; echoes. First impressions on entering the property, indeed look good: quickly soured by the unfriendly attitude of front desk staff (as mentioned in multiple postings), and the cheapness of the decor in rooms, which is certainly not reflected in the rarefied room rate. Avoid this property. …
