Winter Clove Inn was a perfect meeting spot for us - as half of us were traveling from upstate NY and half from CT. The price was affordable and included delicious meals served by friendly staff. There is SO much to do that we couldn't fit it all in - bowling alley, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, hiking trails, gift shop, even a campfire at night with s'more kits for each guest. The rooms were cozy and each had a private bath. The common areas are comfortable and perfect for gathering. We are looking forward to returning!

Such a sweet place. Did one night meeting up with some family with kids. Great covered porch with rockers, tables etc..good family activities - shuffleboard, badminton, pickleball etc..they had karaoke on the porch at night. Bowling alley building had shakes, rootbeer floats, snacks. Yes the rooms are dated which i was aware of but very clean and comfy bed. If you're looking for totally updated and modern this isn't it but the place has soul, and lots of nice, thoughtful touches..games , books, sporting equipment etc all free of charge. we ended up having to leave early and they refunded me money without me even asking. very nice family vibe. one comment is if you are a picky eater call and ask about menu. dinner options were limited- two main course choices and chicken fingers for kids. we're not picky and food was as good as any low key local restaurant so was fine for us.…

We have enjoyed visiting the Round Top area for years and enjoy the quietness and natural beauty of the area. We had high hopes for the Winter Clove Inn based on experiences at other resorts in the area. Unfortunately, the owners/management failed to inform us there was a very loud retreat at the neighboring conference/church facility just down the hill. There was loud music and crowd cheering starting in the morning and extending past midnight for the entire weekend we were there. There was nowhere quiet to sit and enjoy being outside, and we could also hear the music inside our room. The servers in the dining room were lovely, but service at every meal was slow and food was over salted in our opinion. Our room was okay, but over priced and not as clean as we would have liked. There was a ton of dust under the bed and recliner chair in the room was dirty. When we checked out on Sunday, we were not asked how our stay was, but offered feedback anyway on the noise level. The woman at the front desk was unapologetic and cold, despite us addressing our concerns in a respectful manner. Unfortunately, this was our first and last stay at the Winter Clove Inn.…

Greetings, Thank you for taking the time to write a review and I am concerned to hear that you did not fully enjoy your stay with us. I am sorry for the service you received as it clearly did not meet our standards, and your concerns should have been acknowledged and addressed. Unfortunately, we had no way of knowing how loud the camp down the road would be as that has not been the case with their retreats in the past and it is only used two or three weekends a year. I realize this doesn't change the experience you had but want to make sure you knew there was no intentional deceit in not telling you about the camp retreat. We hope you will continue to visit and vacation in the Round Top as it is a beautiful and peaceful area. Thank you!

Lovely inn and grounds for a small family gathering. We enjoyed excellent meals, friendly service from all staff, a fun game room that included a bowling alley, an indoor pool, and toasty-warm guest rooms. The atmosphere is welcoming and the decor is charmingly old-fashioned. There are some great hikes to scenic waterfalls very near by as well. Clover the cat visited us every time we gathered in the large sitting room in the main house. I would go back again!

Very cozy comfortable INN with a historical past. Family owned for over 200 years Friendly staff and accommodating owners And a delicious cuisine by a culinary institute chef! Whether seeking a relaxing time on a couch reading or playing piano or sports oriented with cross county skiing or hiking trails or swimming and even a gym and bowling on the premises = something for everyone. There is the beautiful landscape to view - and then there is the Covered Bridge / Artist Waterfall as their backyard. Definitely worth a visit - and as we were departing the picturesque snow scenes, another couple and family already scheduling their return trip in the summer.

This "resort" was far from what is advertised. We originally thought that we had been swindled by the numerous 5 star reviews that previous guests had left. However, after spending two nights there, we realized that for the type of guests who enjoy this in-desperate-need-of-an-update-inn, apparently it was 5 stars for them. The check-in process was not at all informative. We had to ask what time the meals were served and then to our surprise we were told that breakfast was only between 8-9, lunch from 12:30-1:30, and dinner from 6-7. My husband and I don't even eat dinner that early on the average weeknight, nevermind on a vacation... When we entered the dining room for our early bird dinner - which looks more like a nursing home cafeteria than a restaurant - we were taken back when we saw that many guests had worn hoodies and sweatpants to dinner. Not exactly the romantic inn we had imagined from the pictures. You are only given two options for dinner and we cook more flavorful dishes at home. Again, I would say that they are catering to those with a very bland palate. I had to ask for a wine and beer list and then saw that the only wine available by the glass was Barefoot. That was the moment I realized that there was no hope saving this dinner. We declined the wine and spent the rest of dinner sipping on water instead. We decided that we would be going out to dinner somewhere else the following night as we could not bear to sit through another dinner there. Disappointing when you pay for an all inclusive - but we had a much more enjoyable dinner at a local restaurant. The next morning, I made the mistake of saying that they couldn't possibly mess up breakfast, but alas, when I ordered two soft boiled eggs, I got basically raw eggs that I had to return. I stuck with scrambled eggs moving forward. All in all this weekend-away was not what we expected. Children run rampant and you can hear the constant running while in your room given there is no insulation. The toilet seat was a cheap plastic one that never opened right. The hot water handle in the shower became so hot it hurt to touch it and the shower did not drain well. They only give you a small packet of "conditioning shampoo" so bring your own toiletries. It seems that they cater to multi-generational families who have likely been going there every year since the 1970s and expect the same food and amenities from 40 years ago. For those looking for a nice mountain getaway - stay somewhere else. …

We had the best Thanksgiving at this charming, rustic Inn. As soon as we walked in and were welcomed by Alyssa, we felt immediately welcomed and like family. The all inclusive meals are delicious and the Thanksgiving meal did not disappoint. Shout out to our waitresses Dina and Jesse! We were never bored, as there is a heated indoor pool, bowling alley, pool table, ping-pong table, jukebox!!, Hiking trails and a nine hole golf course. Plenty to do! When you walk into the hotel to the right, it feels like you’re sitting in your living room. It’s a nice gathering place for all of us adults who started as strangers became fast friends by the end of the trip,. met families who have been coming for years some ,four times a year even met a family from Texas. The staff is so friendly, with the exception of the bowling attendant who acted like she hated every minute of being there. NOT a people person. We had such a great time we already booked Thanksgiving for next year! I would mention to bring your own tissues, there’s none in the rooms and maybe your own shampoo because it’s just a little packet. Also, for reference when booking, especially for the elderly, all room start on the second floor and go up. No rooms on the ground level.…

Authentic large country inn, well-kept, family friendly atmosphere. Excellent home-cooked meals included, indoor pool, bowling alley, game room (with jukebox!), small tavern (star bartender) in the main house with a library of books and cross-country skis to borrow. Campfire and s'mores at night. Numerous hiking trails accessible from the property. Definitely the place to stay if you want to ski Hunter or Windham and seek overnight lodging with historic beauty, numerous onsite amenities and a great vibe.

We visited on a very cold, long weekend in January with our 3 grown daughters, their spouses and 1 grandchild (toddler). The rooms containing 2 queen beds were all spacious, clean and comfortable. The homecooked meals were delicious and the portions were wonderful ( even our 27 -30 year -old males, who consume huge portions, were satisfied!) We enjoyed hikes on the beautiful trails and swimming in the clean, indoor pool. The retro Game Room was a blast! We loved Marie's friendly service, while we bowled, played pool, ping pong, and shuffleboard. Refreshments were readily available and reasonably priced. There was even a Little Tikes play kitchen and assorted toys that delighted our granddaughter! On Saturday night the Pub was extra fun featuring "Bowtie Tim" telling stories, crafting wonder cocktails and performing a Magic Show. We all really had a wonderful time together and look forward to returning to the Inn in the near future! Thank you all.…
