I had the most horrible experience in my life at this hotel. The waiters at the dining room refused to serve us. Every table had a name plate with the last name of the guest as they have assigned seating. We were the second guests to enter the dining room for breakfast and noticed that our table was the only table where they didn't place a basket with breakfast pastries. At first, I thought it may have been an oversight by the staff; but soon realized this was deliberate as we sat at the table for twenty-five minutes and none of the 3 waiters on staff came to our table to take our order. We watched mortified as every guest that came in after us was greeted almost immediately by the waiters and their orders taken. The only difference between myself and other guests was the color of my skin, I am black. After realizing that we could sit there for days and not be served; we stood up, went upstairs to our room, packed our things and proceeded to the reception and asked for the hotel manager to advise them of how we had been treated. We were told there was no manager on site, that the person in charged was not in yet, that they would call me when they came in. I received a phone call from the owner about 6 hours later, she apologized a few times, refused to charge for the room. She said she would have a meeting with the staff, as I guess being Racist and Prejudice again black people is ok at that place. Finally, I will say if you are black, consider staying elsewhere.…
My girls and I had a wonderful time. They loved everything about it. To us, the food was really good and our server Nate was beyond exceptional. There was such a comfy feeling about being there and everyone was so friendly. My girls loved the game room...it had a rustic look to it but thats what made it different. We cant wait to see how it looks in the spring/summer. Honestly, between swimming, eating (alot), playing in the snow, bonfire, and Tim's magic show....there was no time to be on electronics and sooo much family time. Thank you to all for making our vacation a memorable one.
We booked this inn as a last minute getaway for spring break. We were very impressed at how clean the place is. Every staff member we met were friendly and helpful. Food was great. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely come back in the future.
My wife, 5 yr old son and 19 mo old daughter and I spent 2 nights at Winter Clove and experienced an atmosphere geared toward Family enjoyment and relaxation. The cozy surroundings also encouraged meeting other families and we ended up enjoying the company of 3 other families and will get together again over the summer.
We had a most wonderful stay at Winter Clove! The inn was lovely and quaint! My granddaughter said she felt like a queen. We tried cross country skiing, went sledding, swimming, played games, and went hiking! We even built a snowman in the woods. We played air hockey, ping pong, and shuffleboard in the game room. And my granddaughter learned what a juke box was! The food was delicious. On Saturday night there was a bon fire and packages to make smores. Sunday morning before we left, we stopped at their sugar house which was just starting up for the season. We made so many memories!
