Overall the park is nice and the lake is pretty clean except for some seaweed toward shore. **Be very wary of the cabins!! Last summer Cabin 6 was infested with carpenter ants and this year (8/19/16) Cabin 1 has roaches! I will never stay in a cabin again!! The bathrooms are pretty clean except for spiders but it's camping so... More

Nice Place... roads are in rough shape so difficult at times for my kids to ride their bikes. Also the beach is nothing special, mostly little rocks and a lot of sea weed, but it does the trick. The sites are very large, but there is not much privacy. Each loop has a bathhouse and they are very clean. The... More

Militant police department. Trees in site not trimmed thus unable to back in new 40 foot MH. When I removed 3 branch tips (2-3 foot in length) police showed up for a 45 minute lecture. Next day another's police visit for having a portable hammock rope tied around tree. Third day, sitting at campfire with wife and friend having a... More

Arrived on a Tuesday in late July at this park centrally located in the Finger Lakes. We were surprised to find ourselves on an extra large and private site without neighbours until Friday. Our visit to nearby Watkins Glen and Taughannock parks found these parks were very crowded without close lake access. This state park has a remarkable military history... More

I would rate this place overall a great place....but.....the last 2 times we went there which was in june and just last week here in july...we had a heck of a time. I am suggesting before you hang up from making reservations you find out all the information. how many people, cars , tents , campers on each site....they seem... More

Had a terrible start to our trip. After driving 9 hours to get there had trouble checking in. Staff not very helpful. Park not dog friendly at all. Trail maps hard to follow and not kept up. We did some geocaching and that was fun, some great challenging finds. Grandkids loved that. I would not go back. I would try... More

Nice state park the sites are big restrooms/showers are well kept along with the rest of the park, the museum is a nice place to visit. Only thing to remember is 1power post for 2sites so depending on which site you have the power might be on the opposite side as your hook up, make sure you have an extension... More

This is a beautiful campground with wonderful views from the beach. The beach is not too far of a walk from most of the campsites. Some of the things that were a drawback: When you pull into your campsite- there is one electric outlet for both campsites. That means if you're on the left of it, you have to run... More

We were camping in one of the circles in 2014 , on the edge of a thick wild area. At night, a small fire going and my shi-tzu on my lap, it got very dark and the fire died down. I could not see much, but I looked a bit to my right and there is a large raccoon approaching... More

It's huge with lots of roads just running everywhere. Check it out on maps. Other than the NAVY/USAF museum, which was closed, it was very basic. Seemed clean and gad a playground. The camping area seemed a bit too wide open for my liking, but the cabins looked very nice. Would be nice to sit on the pier at night,... More
