Great stay! I went with my partner for our anniversary and we thoroughly enjoyed our time here. The weather was cold & rain, but we still had so much fun using the saunas and heated pool. The beach view was amazing and the room, albeit small, was very stylish, clean and comfortable. Spa-like shower, dreamy bed. The hotel decor all over was great, and we spent some time playing games in front of the fire in the hotel lobby. We went to Margie's twice, once for dinner and once for lunch. Dinner was especially great. Everyone was so kind and we will most definitely be returning!
We were attending a party so we stayed overnight. The rooms are too small and no closet. We waited too long for Valet parking we when we got there. We left the next morning and valet was not available until 11AM so we were walked 2 blocks to get our car. Had to call the front desk to lift the gate so we could drive out. Our car doors were not locked overnight. Hotel is close to the beach. Pool and rooftop bar were very nice. Margie’s, the hotel restaurant was a good experience.
Cannot say enough great things!!! From the complimentary champagne at check in to the aesthetic of the hotel everything is perfection. Liz the spa director and Emily the front desk manager both have exceptional customer service and made sure my stay was relaxing and enjoyable! I will definitely be back!
My family is from Rockaway. My sister's b-day was in Feb (she moved out of Rockaway and now lives in BK) , so I wanted to give her a gift so she can relax. She is always thinking about and looking out for others, she often forgets herself. I booked a room with a king size bed for her to relax for a few days (4 days) at The Rockaway Hotel. I had no clue this hotel was in Rockaway. I was searching for a hotel that is near but also had a spa, this is when I stumbled upon The Rockaway Hotel. Without my knowledge and as a complimentary add on, The Rockaway hotel upgraded the room with a king size bed to a 1 bedroom apartment (kitchen, living room, bathroom, washer, dryer, microwave, refrigerator, etc)! They allowed me to go to the room before my sis got there and decorate with balloons, cake, food, etc. The staff were great!! She had a credit for a spa treatment nut wasn't able to use it during her stay (the spa was booked), so the manager of the spa extended the credit so my sis can go another time! My sis enjoyed her stay and the entire environment. The Rockaway has a spa, roller skating rink, restaurant, event space, pool, sauna, etc. And of course the bonus is it is right next to the beach (that is a bonus of living in Rockaway. We (my sis and I) totally recommend The Rockaway hotel! …
On the coldest night of the year, a dozen friends traveled from as far as Providence, RI and as near as Brooklyn for a winter retreat at the Rockaway Hotel. Our stay was brief (one night), but the effects were lasting. We took advantage of all the spa had to offer and enjoyed time together lounging in the lobby by the fireplace and reconnecting around the table at Margie's over dinner and brunch. An unexpected delight was our morning yoga session with Narisara Vanichanan in The Rooftop space, with breathtaking views of both city and sea. We had an unforgettable getaway and look forward to returning. Special thanks to Margo Comis and all of the staff members who helped make our stay so memorable.
The rooms are small but beautifully decorated and clean. The bed in the standard room was a big, comfy king bed and I got a great nights sleep. Due to the compactness of the room, there are clothing hooks and underbed drawers instead of a dresser, but it works! The room almost has the feel of a cabin on a cruise ship, all space is utilized efficiently. (The only thing I wish they could have included is a mini fridge.) The common areas are beautiful and there’s a welcoming lobby with ample seating. There are restaurants and a bar on the premises but there’s also a great casual restaurant (Happy Jacks), a neighborhood pub (Healy’s), a deli and a frozen yogurt shop directly across the street. I was there in February, but in warmer weather there’s a small rooftop pool and the ocean beach is a block away. The staff was welcoming and helpful. I was really impressed with what a nice experience I had! It should be noted that there’s a $45 per night resort fee on top of the room rate, but when I was checking out I mentioned to the clerk that I didn’t use any amenities because I was only in town for a funeral, he immediately waived the resort fee. He said it was hotel policy to waive it for cases of bereavement and told me to tell my friends about the policy for future reference. I definitely recommend The Rockaway Hotel; it has more of a feel like smaller hotels I’ve stayed at in Ireland rather than big American chain hotels, but I view that as a plus.…
Such a conveniently located and beautiful hotel. Its location just a block from the beach is just perfect for a weekend stay in one of our favorite NYC hidden gems. There is art everywhere (good art, not hotel decorative art), there are several very nice restaurants and a rooftop bar, as well as a very welcoming cafe with good coffee and pastries, on the property. The pool area is beautiful and the lobby is well outfitted with lovely coffee table books and couches to lounge on. Staff was attentive and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay. Will surely be back as soon as possible!
We stayed 2 perfect nights at the Rockaway Hotel! We were in the area for a Holiday party and coupled it with The Big Band Holiday event the hotel was hosting. I have to say the Dinner and Band/event were the highlight of our trip! They mean it when they say you are In Good Company. The food was beyond any expectation, service was incredible, music and ambiance were all perfect. We will definitely be back!
Had a unique and fun party at the hotel rooftop that was curated by the wonderful staff at the Rockaway Hotel for my 50th birthday. I chose this location because my dining experience at their restaurant Margie’s was phenomenal. I can’t say enough about how accommodating and professional the entire staff was. Will be going back soon to enjoy their spa services. 11/10 experience, ambiance, service and quality of their food and beverages.
First time at this hotel and WOW! What a beautiful place. The upstairs (indoor) rooftop is where the birthday party was. The space is huge and absolutely beautiful. The food was SO good, the drinks amazing. They set up drink stations for us at the bar and the super awesome bartenders walked us through making a few different cocktails. The bartenders were so sweet and friendly and we all were so impressed with the service. Such a cool idea for a birthday party! Can’t wait to go back and see the outdoor rooftop space when it gets warmer. And also can’t wait to eat at the restaurant downstairs that everyone was raving about.
