I took my eleven year old son camping at Camp Rockaway and we loved it. We took the ferry from Wall Street/Pier Eleven and the free shuttle that dropped us right at the campsite. The views from the ferry ride were great. The wall tents are sturdy and we felt safe and secure

This place is a gem! It's a full on glamping campsite at Jacob Riis Park near Rockaway beach. Took the ferry to get there and a free shuttle- so easy. The tent feels like a little hotel room. There's also a campfire at night and games so you can do s'mores and cook food over the

Hi chargallan, Thank you for your kind words, and for choosing to camp with us! It's so nice to hear that you enjoyed our unique outdoor showers. They are a custom design that the owner of Camp Rockaway made - teak wood, aluminium and partially solar they are a great way to wash the saltines of before diving into our lush beds after a day at the beach. We hope to see you back around the campfire soon.

Have you ever wanted to sleep under the stars, by the beach? This experience cannot be beat (especially so close to Manhattan). My cousin and I heard about this "glamping" site last summer and have wanted to try it ever since. Last Thursday night we finally did and LOVED it!

Hi Arianne, Thank you for your awesome feedback, and for choosing to camp with us! Glad to hear you got to fully unwind on the ferry ride over before camping with us. I'm so happy to hear that you enjoyed the tent furnishings and everything else. Rockaway is such a unique place in New York that brings a calm to the otherwise hectic city. This place was so much fun: sun, surf, hammocks swing on the deck of your own private platform safari- tent. The New York skyline on one side and the beach on the other- it feels like you’re on a tropical island. I loved roasting marshmallows around the fire pit and going to
