My boyfriend and I stayed at Camp Rockaway on a Friday night and we did not enjoy the experience compared to popular opinion from the reviews here. At the night of our stay, the crowd at the camp was made up by mostly kids, which we didn’t expect. They were running around and

Dear Xiaoqing Z,

We appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts regarding your stay at Camp Rockaway.

I'm sorry to hear that some aspects of camp didn't meet your expectations. As a new business we take your comments very seriously and will work on improving this in the future. Our camp is located in the historic Jacob Riis Bathhouse that has been neglected for over thirty years. Together with other businesses we are working towards a full reopening of this art deco masterpiece. We certainly hope that you will give Camp Rockaway another try, and please let us know if you decide to return so we can make your next stay everything you hope it to be. Please feel free to contact me directly. All the best, Sophie sophie@camprockaway.com

Loved staying at Camp Rockaway. The tents were clean and well maintained. The staff was friendly and the stay was super relaxing. The price is a little high for what you’re getting amenities wise, but being that there aren’t any hotels in the area it was well worth it! Highly

This is a great place for everyone, but locals especially, if you need a day or two off from your subway commute, this is the place to go. Took the ferry from Wall St, spent my days reading and writing, waking at sunrise, seeing dolphins swim along the breakers, and hanging with

Hi scotttravels17, Thank you for your wonderful feedback! I'm so happy to hear that you fully decompressed while camping with us and the got to see the wildlife New York has to offer. Not many people believe us when we say that dolphins are just of the shore jumping around. I'm excited you got the full experience. We hope to see you back around the campfire soon - perhaps for the monarch butterfly migration. All the best, Sophie sophie@camprockaway.com
