Stayed at the River Cottage, Aug 2020. I always start reviews with the good things, but honestly there aren't any. SO... It was VERY hard to contact these people on the phone. Even when making the booking it required 4 calls before anyone answered. The husband answered the initial booking call and told me that his wife runs the business and that she would call me back - which never occurred. Because this was a trip to take my daughter to University, and when we made the booking, schedules from the University were changing due to Covid - I asked about their flexibility to modify the reservation, specifically to leave early. I was told "no problem, we can be very flexible with that" - back to this later... When my wife called to inquire about cleaning procedures in light of Covid-19, again it required several calls before anyone answered. When our plans changed and we added a night on the front end of the reservation, they got that wrong - how hard is it to mess up "please add one night at the beginning of the reservation", it was incorrectly put on the calendar - but was successfully corrected - again after several phone calls. But, they were more than happy to add that night. HOWEVER, a few days later when plans changed again and my wife needed to leave a day early, (yes, we are aware of the formal leave early policy and that it does not allow checking out early - but see above...) she received a BS response - they stated that they would check on it and call back - never happened. And they stated that "if only you had booked directly with us" - umm, your website is not direct enough?? When my wife did indeed check out, before the check out time, a day early she received a brusk "what" from the husband, to which she replied that she was checking out, and then received only another brusk "ok" in response. No inquiries about how she liked it... So, we were billed for that final night that was not used, regardless of the reassurances I received when I placed the booking. A bit about the property, This was the River Cottage. The back yard is much smaller than as presented on the photos and is very small indeed. The house itself is very dark inside with very low ceilings. The air quality was musty and my daughter was not feeling well for a week after she left due to allergies. We most certainly would not stay with this establishment again and do not recommend to others.

We loved our week stay at the Edward Harris House Inn. The house is beautiful and elegantly decorated. The breakfasts were extraordinary! Manny is an incredible chef! We especially enjoyed the Puff Chan, the Cuban omelet, the pear crisp, the French toast, and fresh berries! Manny, Susan, and Coryn were very kind and helpful. We felt so at home! Can’t wait to return! Susan Downs and Chanda Kuhn

I chose this B&B as it looked more of a boutique style hotel. But the exterior & interior surpassed any preconceptions I had. It really is a wonderfully quirky home with the most delightful furnishings. The owner Susan makes you feel really welcome. And the facilities & breakfast are terrific. A short walk to the end of the street and there's plenty of bars and restaurants. Definitely head & shoulders better than staying in a faceless chain hotel.

We booked our vaca last minute, so most of the Airbnbs were gone, which led me to find the Edward Harris House Inn - and I'm so glad it ended up this way! We absolutely loved it. The architecture and decor match the historic Eastman Museum charm, the room was very spacious, free parking was great, and the breakfast was absolutely delicious. Still thinking about the croissant french toast. Our hosts were SO nice and accommodating, always friendly and welcoming and they even let us grab keys early so we could explore the area without having to interrupt the day to go back and check in. The neighborhood is very quiet, the bed very comfy, everything super clean, and all amenities (even snacks!) are there. Will love visiting again!

We arrived late, around 1130pm after booking room #2 online (King bed with sitting area) but were surprised to see we were placed in room #3 (full bed, no sitting area). However, we were still billed for room #2 ($10/night difference), and when I caught the error and called to ask about getting the difference refunded, I was told that our rooms were changed as the person in our booked room just happened to want to stay an extra night. I am not sure why they couldn't have honored our room reservation for the much nicer room and made the person making last minute plans move instead? Breakfast was good and the staff was very friendly.
