Our stay at the RIT was okay. Room seemed very clean; but thought it was a bit strange to have 2 double beds instead of queen beds. Layout was a bit strange too with the microwave sitting on top of the...
The hotel is undergoing construction. It seems like it will be nice when completed but right now did not exude much confidence to take an elevator that had walls of poster board. The front staff were friendly and...
the ladies at the breakfast buffet make you feel like you're eating at their homes with their families.
When it came time to depart the hotel, he warmed up the hotel van, helped me step inside, and when we arrived at the Rochester airport, he went inside to get an attendant to bring out a wheelchair for me.
Had a one night stay after a long drive. Peter's hospitality was awesome. The house is full of interesting historical artifacts and Peter's enthusiasm in sharing them was better then any museum. The rooms are comfortable and some have private baths which is a nice plus. Great value for the money.
My girlfriend and I were looking for a place to stay in Rochester, when we have found Peter's place. This B&B is run by Peter himself, who is extremely nice and cares deeply about the comfort of his guests. The room we got was clean, tidy and unique, in that the furniture is antique, yet in great condition, as if it was bought recently. The bed was comfortable and we were provided with everything we needed. Breakfast was tasty and was served at the hour we requested. We found it more than satisfactory and went out with our bellies full :) Similarly to the rest of the house, every piece of furniture and appliance is well kept, and in working condition, which makes the entire experience of visiting the place unique and interesting. This is a great bonus for those of you who like antiques but don't care for just any old dust covered antique you usually find in stores. Along with Peter's willingness to explain and demonstrate, the place is worth a visit even if it weren't for the B&B. So in conclusion, if you are looking for a good place to stay the night in Rochester, you should definitely check this place out.…
My wife and I are Australians. We spent 5 and a half weeks holidaying in USA /Canada. We travelled from Chicago to Boston, overland by Amtrak..and by bus for the last leg. We had stopovers at Buffalo (2 nights), Rochester and Springfield Mass. Our B.&B.host in Rochester met us at the station and took us to our B.&B. by a route which showed us some highlights of the city. Peter's Vintage B.&B. is a beautiful, traditional, American two storey building in an area of similar residential buildings and gardens. Our room was comfortable and very appealing. The room and the building are packed with treasures of Americana. We found Peter to be the perfect host. After we had unpacked and got our bearings, he dropped us to the Strong National Museum of Play which was packed with grandparents, parents and childen enjoying a unique experience of fun and adventure.. Later we went to another of Rochester's attraction, the Eastman house. In the evening, we enjoyed a pizza with Peter and were shown some of his magnificent collection of very old Americana ...e.g. a washing machine (still working) that is over 100 years old. He is a great host and was happy to talk to us and answer questions about life in Rochester. Highlight of a superb breakfast before we left was bread. made by Peter from his own recipe. We chose to do Chicago to Boston overland, rather than by air, so that we could meet up with , talk to and stay with "ordinary " Americans In Rochester, we were priveleged to be hosted by an "extraordinary " American…
