Hotel's Favorite
A solid choice for the outer reaches of Long Island, this is a motel/hotel hybrid with touches of both. Smartly renovated with a creative restaurant and a tasty, but limited breakfast buffet, the Indigo is well situated for visits to the North Fork and the Hamptons.. Greenport is a 30 minute drive; Montauk lighthouse is 45 minutes depending on traffic. If you are looking for east end “atmosphere” and ocean or sound views, this is not the place to stay as there is little scenic about the Indigo or the surroundings although the cherry blossom trees around the pool were in full bloom during our stay. It is sandwiched between a major road and a large shopping outlet. The rooms were quiet and roomy enough for a motel style accommodation. The bathroom was small, but perfect. The staff were are excellent at the front desk and restaurant and bar; welcoming, efficient, and helpful. This is an expensive part of Long Island, but I thought the value for what we paid and got (off season, granted) was also very good.

This is our go to property every summer in NYC. They have great rooms. POOL which is important specially summer time. Their rooms are clean as well - when you enter you can see and smell that it has been cleaned and sanitize. Signs all over the hotel with the mask on and 6ft distance makes us comfortable to check-in in the property. The two ladies on the right checked us in and they are the best! If you book with them in summer time make sure to book the pool view rooms. :)

Came for a birthday overnight for my husband. I booked a last-minute stay for the couples retreat that included 2 massages, an overnight stay and $50 for the restaurant. The book and coordination took some extra time. Long waits to get the reservation finalized, but the manager was nice. When I checked in the staff was nice, but it definitely didn't feel like a retreat or anything super welcoming. In the room 233 there was definitely dust and surfaces that were not cleaned which was worrisome because of COVID. Since it was a romantic stay, I didn't want to have to move or watch housekeeping clean so I cleaned myself. Then when I inquired about breakfast which is what I planned to use the $50 gift certificate on, I was told that there was no breakfast at the restaurant. I could do lunch at 12pm. Why was this not mentioned during my booking?? Okay, now lunch time comes and I'm told that the restaurant doesn't serve lunch until 3pm which is an hour after my checkout. Now I have no clue when I will use the gift certificate. The manage was a bit snippy when stating that I could come back or wait. She mentioned that the certificate is usually used for dinner as if that is a fine print on the certificate. It felt like an excuse to cover up he run around that I received since check-in regarding when I could use it. Oh I even tried to use it the night of check-in for drinks and apps, but there was no bartender in site. No one came over to us as we waited at the bar. Only a group of people laughing and talking. That's when I asked if it was ok to use for lunch. If I am being transparent, we are local so we know that Bistro 72 isn't good. That's why we didn't do dinner her, but wanted to do breakfast (kind of hard to mess up). What a waste? I booked a package for all of the amenities and it fell short. The massage was great, but it definitely was not a deep tissue massage. All in all, this is my 3rd time at the property and probably my last. It sucks because this place had sentimental value to my husband and I. It was our first hotel stay together about 8 years ago.
For what it brands itself to be this hotel deserves a 2 rating. For a random stay for business, this hotel is a 3. It's obviously an okay stay if you're with family or business, but for couples or a staycation, it falls short in so man ways.

We stayed 2 nights for our sons wedding in Southhampton and we were so disappointed with the accommodations based on the rate of over $200/night. Where to begin...
1,Upon arrival there was no signage on the front door of the hotel to indicate that masks were required. There was a poster once in the lobby, Social distancing markers only in the lobby.
2. The rugs in the hallway were positively filthy especially on the first floor by the first elevator. What a horrible introduction to a hotel! We knew we were in trouble.
3. The rooms only had double beds! Hello, this is 2020, buy some Queen beds ! The rooms we had were also very small and the furniture was worn and dated
4. The air conditioning was very noisy and did not work very well . Our room was not cool even though we had it cranking at 65 for the 2 days.
5. The high touch tv remote was not in plastic (as it was at a Marriott we had stayed at in August). There were no plastic or paper cups in the room, only glass with plastic covers on them in the bathroom. There were ice tongs in the room with the ice bucket! YUCK! The only indication that the room was cleaned to a higher level for the PANDEMIC, was a 2-4 line note on the desk. Thankfully I brought my own Clorox Wipes.
6. Hand sanitizer was only available at the elevators and not in the elevator ( Marriott had that) or by the ice or vending machines which are also high touch areas.
7. There was some signage in the hallways indicating the need for a mask except in certain areas. I did have remind 2 groups of guests to mask up in the hallways as they were non compliant. There was also no signage of how to properly wear a mask (Marriott had that too)
8. The room had a microwave stacked on a small refrigerator which gave the room a Motel 6 vibe.
On a positive note, the pool looked clean but we did not use it. The breakfast at the Bistro on site restaurant was very good, and a shout out to servers Michael and Jake for excellent service. Also, the host and hostess in the morning were very friendly and personable.
Overall, extremely under whelmed especially for the price point and the Covid precautions were a little light for a hotel in my opinion.

Whenever we do long weekend escapes in the summer or fall, this is one of our choice hotels and locations due to its proximity to North Fork wine country. A little disappointed this trip. First was that I called a few days before and spoke with the hotel directly and asked for a pool view room. The hotel confirmed that my room will be assigned one at arrival. We checked in and had a view of the parking lot. The room was not the same room we had before and was a smaller room this time. We had asked as well for the upgrade to the ground floor rooms with the small terrace for 100 more and until I asked, that was the only time we were told it was not available . I would assumed this would have been on our reservation. Otherwise, the room was clean, good amenities as usual, the front desk staff was friendly , courteous at each interaction especially check out. Dinner at the restaurant was great, but breakfast was a terrible experience for us not to consider dinner as we had originally planned. Over-all, was an OK stay this time around and great sleep quality.

Hotel Indigo was definitely what was advertised on their site. I was headed out to The Hamptons and decided to book a hotel that was at least a half hour away and booked for only a night. Booking a room was very easy.
Checking in was good and a breeze. Front office staff was very nice and informative.
The lobby was very clean, spacious and quiet. There are only 2 floors and I got the upper floor which was great. My room was right off the elevator so didn't have to walk very far. The room was exactly what was pictured on their site as well and I loved every inch of it. The floor seemed quiet.
I got a room that looked out into garden/lounge/lunch area. The beds were really comfortable and bathroom was a nice size for 2 people. They had a microwave, keurig and a fridge which was very cool. I would definitely stay here again.
It is also in very close proximity to the Tanger Outlet Mall, if you love to shop :-) Parking is free (self parking) and a car in those parts is recommended.
The hotel does have a restaurant and comes equipped with a full bar. The wait staff was very nice, attentive and friendly enough. I think it was called Bistro72 or The 72 Bistro :-) The food was really good. Prepared and brought out to you pretty hot. They also have happy hour where the drinks are half priced. Closes at 11pm
There is a complimentary breakfast which starts at 7am
USB ports at bedside/night table
Staff wore their masks. There were sanitizers by the elevators, although the one on my floor seemed to have ran out.
I would def stay here again!!

We stayed at hotel indigo as part of a wedding block. Not only was our room ready early, but it was clean and cool in the middle of summer. Check in was super easy, the front desk manager Milissa was extremely accommodating and she made sure we had refreshments and enough towels. The rooms are absolutely stunning and the beds were comfortable. (I took notes for my home bathroom redesign.) The restaurant, Bistro 72, is very elegant, the vibes are upscale NYC lounge! Overall, Hotel Indigo gets a solid 10/10 from me. I will be coming back!!

Hotel Indigo is a great property if you will use the beautiful outdoor area, including the pool and restaurant.
The rooms are clean. As mentioned in previous reviews, on the small side. The toilet needs to be upgraded to a higher toilet, but the shower is modern and fine. The bed is very comfortable, and the linens are good quality. They offered free continental Breakfast and it was very good, and Covid safe. You can eat it outdoors too.
Very easy to travel to all the vineyards, farms and Orient Point. We also took a day trip to Montauk it was lovely not having an extra long ride.
Make sure you reserve a NO SMOKING room if you don’t want the room to smell of cigarette or pot smoke. Also if you won’t take advantage of the pool, just chose the less expensive room in a hotel chain in Riverhead. The pool sets Hotel Indigo apart.

Courteous, caring and professional staff made this weekend stay for a wedding a decent experience. But man do the rooms need to be updated! Not enough outlets; no USB ports; no interactive TVs; horrible, harsh lighting; very limited patio rooms (which could've provided more natural light); the weakest water pressure in a hotel ever (seriously, not exaggerating); and even a bathroom sink outlet that forces you to plug in with the cord toward the backsplash so a hair dryer or other big hand-held appliance plug can't fit. Paying around 375 a night to not be by the ocean was ridiculous as it doesn't come anywhere close to what a "boutique" hotel experience should be. The best part of the stay was the rehearsal dinner - great experience outside under a tent. Great service and really good food in a secluded grass area in the back.

This was, by far, the largest gap I’ve ever had between expectations of the visit and the actual experience.
This hotel tries hard to create a pleasant experience for guests but seriously falls short. The hotel rooms are decent but the common areas and hallways are dated.
The air conditioner was not working reliably. I figured out, after a while, that opening and closing the door will cause it to turn back on for about 2 minutes so I had to do this a dozen times to keep the room cool. I complained to the front desk. They said they would send maintenance but they never showed up.
The Wifi works on-and-off. It was a vacation but I had my laptop because I had to get a couple hours of work done. I could not even connect to the company VPN.
Bistro 72 food was a hit or miss. The waiters are nice but young and inexperienced. Service is almost always slow. Bartender was a nice guy.
Front desk was informed and helpful.
The biggest disappointment was pool access. The main reason I stayed at this hotel was because of the outdoor pool (after much online searching and research). I was looking forward to getting away from COVID confinement and getting some sun and a good swim. I was there for 3 days and 2 nights; the pools chairs were always taken even at 9 AM. There was never a good time to sit by the pool. The hotel limits the number of people in the pool but it always felt too close for comfort. I left the hotel without a single dip in the pool. Not the hotel’s fault really but they could have added more sun chairs in and around the pool area.
Will not stay at this Indigo again.
