Lovely hotel in a great location. Very close to good restaurants and such in Riverhead, but also easy to hop on the road and head north or south to either the wineries and Greenport or the Hamptons. The rooms were spacious and renovated, and the staff was very nice. We went during COVID and everyone wore their masks properly and were conscientious of hygiene.
Only downside is that tiny gym. Luckily we were in there alone, but even if it weren't a pandemic I can only imagine what an experience it would be at full capacity (4 people). I would prefer not to exercise 6 inches from a stranger in a dark closet with no ventilation. That being said, didn't come for the gym and I appreciated that it was even open for use since most hotels had closed their gyms.

This was our first time staying at the Preston House and Hotel and it was INCREDIBLE. We worked with Alberto and Leigh on several aspects of our wedding weekend and were beyond happy with their hospitality. Not only did they go out of their way to help us with additional items we needed in our room to help us get ready for our big day, but they were constantly checking on us to make sure we were happy and had an amazing stay each day. Our suite had Prosecco waiting for us on ice when we arrived (such a nice wedding week touch), the beds were super comfy and allowed for a great nights sleep for the bride and groom. The bathroom and soaker tub was incredible and we very much enjoyed the space and finishes. Everything was very upscale. We were there for 4 nights and had zero complaints. We have stayed at a lots of hotels, as we travel often all over the world and this was a favorite just based on the accommodations, staff, and attention to detail. The hotel really doesn’t miss a beat with anything, and the food at the restaurant was great, as we hosted a coursed dinner there for family and friends on our last night. The staff, the stay, we give it all five stars and would be thrilled to stay again. Thank you so much again for everything! Alberto especially, you are the REAL MVP!

I was in town for a 50th Birthday party and most hotels were booked. The only room available was at the Preston House and it was the corner king suite. It was a little pricey but given the area and comparison to other hotels it seemed like the best deal. By comparison the only other option was the Budget and that was 300 for a standard room, the Preston was about 700 for the suite (900 square feet). So I felt it was well worth the extra, even without staying there before, but the reviews were good so I went for it. Let me say I'm so happy I did, the hotel is very nice, easy quick check-in room was ready, staff was so welcoming & nice. They offered turn down of my sofa beds since I had add'l guests. The room itself was so spacious, modern and clean. Beautifully decorated comfortable bed, the temperature was great, bathroom was huge and great water pressure. We didn't eat in the restaurant, but it looked nice, we did have a drink at the bar and the bartender Noah was so friendly and recommended an excellent drink, the Ruby Foo, it was so good! Parking was free and easily found a spot. In the morning there is complimentary continental breakfast and they offered us a Latte or cappuccino and the Cappuccino was one of the best I've had. Food was also fresh and many options. I would highly recommend this hotel if in town. I hope to have the need to stay there again in the future!!

The Preston House & Hotel is a beautiful find in Riverhead. The building and rooms are immaculate and decorated with a very modern and industrial vibe. The lobby area is welcoming and friendly as well as the little outdoor seating area. The room itself was large, with lots of amenities, including a music speaker. My favorite part of my stay aside from the gorgeous rooms was the staff. The hospitality service went above and beyond and was probably the best I've ever experienced. They are simply outstanding. The front desk staff was beyond accommodating and helpful, from putting a microwave in our room to offering local travel advice. I took one star off due to the food at the restaurant. We did not experience a great meal, but the drinks and service did make up for it. I would definitely recommend the Preston House if you want a smaller, boutique style hotel in Riverhead.

If you're staying in Riverhead, odds are the location had chosen you rather than you choosing the location. But regardless of the reason you wound up here, you should stay at the Preston House and Hotel. As opposed to the the Hyatt Place across the street, the Preston House and Hotel has a boutique and elevated feel.
The staff could not be any nicer and attentive to our needs. The breakfast in the morning is delicious and mostly home-cooked though best to supplement with some truly North Fork cuisine. The rooms are new, modern, and spacious. Pro tip: to enjoy a blackout shade experience use hangers as pictured to prevent light from coming in the morning.
We also found the restaurant to be very nice food and convenient.
This hotel is appropriately rated as 4 stars. A five star experience for us.

We were in Riverhead for a wedding and made a reservation here. One week before the wedding, we inquired about booking an extra room for one more guest. Lee at the front desk suggested that we upgrade to a suite, with a pullout sofa for that guest. She gave us this upgrade at no extra cost.
Our room was great; clean, modern, a large fat scree TV in the bedroom and one in the living room. The bathroom was large as was the walk-in shower. The beds were comfortable and the towels, linens, etc were top quality.
While in the lobby having coffee, I heard several interactions between the front desk person/ manager Lee, and guests. She was professional, polite, courteous, and went out of her way to make sure you were accommodated in every way. I would defihtiwly stay here again, and Lee deserves a raise!

We had a wonderful stay at The Preston House. Our room was large and well appointed. The views were mainly of the parking lot. Parking was included as was breakfast. There is a small cardio room in the basement for working out. You can also use the Hyatt’s facilities across the street (including gym and pools).
The location was so-so. Not a lot going on in the immediate area. This could also be due to COVID.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

Staff was exceptional. Very friendly and professional. Nice free buffet breakfast. Staff very accommodating in addition to the hot fresh coffee they offered/provided cappuccinos also. We had dinner at the restaurant also. It was delicious. Only drawback is the hotel is very small, no real amenities. You do have free access to the gym and pool at the Hyatt across the street.

We were attending a Valentines dinner at the Aquarium and didn't want to drive back home. We chose The Preston House over the Hyatt even though Hyatt was giving a discount if you had reservations at the Aquarium. What a GREAT choice. The people are so friendly and professional. The room was exactly how it was shown on the website (when does THAT ever happen). Susan and the manager Alberto are awesome !! We didn't eat at the restaurant but did have cocktails at the bar. Very pleasant atmosphere. We're planning on going back and this time staying more than one night.
