Rural motels are often small, dark and damp, which made The Village Motel in Richfield Springs a pleasant surprise. The room was large and airy, there was no musty smell, and the bathroom fixtures and tiling were well above the norm for such places. At just under $100 U.S. it was a bit more expensive than most others, but it... More

In the week before Labor Day everything around Cooperstown was about $200. This classic motel was a pleasant 20 minute drive away. The room was spotless. Windows on each side made for a pleasant cross breeze. The room had enough space for 2 queen beds, two chairs and hanging space plus desk with flat screen TV. The bathroom was clean... More

This is a low-end motel, built in the 1950's. However, the rooms have been refurbished, including what appears to be new faucets in the bathroom, new mattresses, a flat screen tv, wifi, a microwave, and refrigerator. The towels and tissue are still low end, the air conditioner very loud, and no coffee maker. Still, the cost is the lowest in... More

The room was cheaper than others in the area, and now we know why. The room smelled musty, the water came out brown when the shower was first turned on, very small soaps, cheap shampoo packets, no hair dryer. There was a very nice mini fridge and microwave and a wide variety of TV channels, if that's what you're looking... More

This MOTEL is well situated on the main road between a diner and a gas station with a Stewarts. We had the room nearest the street and it was still very quiet. The room smelled a bit musty when we first got there but it was fine once you let it air out a bit. The appointments are adequate--there is... More

Booked through Expedia in spite of the quoted $20.50 in taxes. Asked about the tax rate at check-in and was told tax on the room was $9.00. Front desk claimed additional amount was an Expedia fee. Further contact with Expedia revealed that they only post the rates and taxes quoted by the hotel, so they are charging Expedia users $11.50... More

My sons and I stayed at the Village Inn overnight on a trip to Cooperstown. We stayed there on the weekend, when rooms in the area are in more demand, but this place was pricey for what we got. However, checking online, this was one of the least expensive, so it's a market driven economy in the region. Our rooms... More

The title says it all! The hotel was very clean. The owners were very nice and accommodating. The only downfall is that the beds are a little too firm for our liking. We would definitely stay again as this is the best choice for the Richfield Springs New York area.

This is an older, family-run hotel that we found because we rolled into Cooperstown too late to pay $300/night for a hotel - they were all sold out! We were grateful to find a clean, quiet, budget place to rest for the night. The bathroom was bigger than my NYC kitchen! I didn't find this place particularly charming, nor did... More

A simple 1950s-style motel. Rooms spare but clean. Bathrooms tiny but tub in all rooms. Free wi-fi access in every room; cell phones work outside of rooms if not in them. Every room has mini-fridge. The husband-wife couple who owns the motel are very nice, friendly but not intrusive. Six of us have stayed there in 4 rooms for many... More
