It was a late Sunday evening and we were all hungry & tired. Without many choices along the way, we decided to stop at the Village Motel in Richfield Springs. A lovely woman came within a minute after ringing the bell, and made sure we found the right accommodation for the evening. She also was very helpful directing us to which eateries were open at that hour on a Sunday, mind you. The room was quaint, in a 1960's kind of way, but very clean and freshly painted. The bathroom fixtures and heating/cooling systems were up to date. The bed was comfortable, the satellite dish TV worked well, and there were even complimentary bottles of water for us in the fridge. All in all, I'd give this facility a 5-star rating considering the cost of the room, and availability. It's nice to know this place is there when I choose to take US 20 instead of the NY Thruway when traveling West to East through New York State, which I usually prefer to do.

Our room was clean and pleasant! The refrigerator, in the room, and ice machine, in the office, was convenient. There are two chairs outside the room door which was pleasant to sit outside. There is a park across the street, and there happened to be band playing. This motel is a great value and is only 15 miles from Cooperstown. The customer service was outstanding. We will stay here again.

Just spent two nights there. I was immediately impressed with the cleanliness of property and room. Motel is obviously old but very well maintained. Upgrades are apparent, particularly in the bathroom. Owners very friendly and wanted to make sure I would be comfortable. I usually have trouble getting a good nights sleep in hotel beds. Not here. Slept very well each night. Price wise it was a definite bargain and will be my go to motel the next time I’m passing through.

Stayed here on our way to Cooperstown. We were a little worried, because we never stay at motels or motor lodges anymore. But this place was very clean and the rooms were very nice. Everything was great and the staff was great too. Definitely recommend

A wonderful clean and comfortable hotel. The staff is very friendly and helpful. This is the second time we have stayed here. The price is right and the rooms are clean. We will be back anytime we are in the area. It's so quite and peaceful at night.

I was surprised to find a wall mounted HD TV and free high speed wifi in this small motel and I'm quite happy that I did. The place seems to be family owned and the owners were happy to provide me with the wifi password and checked in with me to make sure it was going at a comfortable speed. I got around 25 mpbs anywhere in the room. Beds were clean, shower had great pressure and the water could get really hot if thats what you wanted. I'd definitely stay again.

Suited our purposes very well for visit to Cooperstown and area. The park across the street from the motel was good for a bonus free concert one evening. Although the air conditioner was a bit noisy this didn't bother me very much and did not detract from my enjoyment.

Not sure what other reviewers expected from this place, perhaps expectations were too high. We found the room–and bathroom–very clean. Motels of this vintage usually have small bathrooms so space is at a premium, but you don't feel cramped. The bed was comfortable if not luxurious. It's an old motel so things like air conditioning are there but as add-ons; a typical motel from the 1950s with renovated bathrooms and a decent flat-screen TV. The owners are attentive to guests. Water pressure was excellent and hot water was plentiful. We stayed one night and left rested.
Cooperstown is 14 miles away and an easy drive through beautiful countryside.

When I read the above review, I was skeptical whether I would enjoy my stay at The Village Motel. But when I reached there, it was great! The rooms were nice and clean, and I found the owner to be a very nice man. I am thankful to myself for staying at this motel after reading the other review about it, and I hope this review will encourage others to stay at this great motel.

In the week before Labor Day everything around Cooperstown was about $200. This classic motel was a pleasant 20 minute drive away. The room was spotless. Windows on each side made for a pleasant cross breeze. The room had enough space for 2 queen beds, two chairs and hanging space plus desk with flat screen TV. The bathroom was clean and had plenty of towels and basic toiletries. Good internet. Very quiet at night. The gas station next door sells all you need for breakfast and there is a Chinese take away just down the street. Not exactly a steal at $100 but for a night or two it was just fine.
