The Looking Glass was perfect for our needs but I can see why others say it needs updating. In a sense, I agree with that. Updating would take it up a notch... it is not a 5-star luxury kind of place. But, in some ways the old school feel is part of its charm. We were here to visit friends... More

My wife and I stayed at The Looking Glass last weekend to attend an event in the area. This is a very nice, older B&B on a quiet street with just a short walk into Rhinebeck. The B&B could use a little updating, but it was very nice and inviting. The host, Cari, was wonderful and very accommodating. We arrived... More

The good: nice innkeeper good breakfast, we'll stocked pantry, good location. The rest: Our room was quite small, very tiny bathroom with the sink in the room. Do not hit your head on the shelf right above sink. Musty curtains, thin layer of dust. Back porch off room nice, but needs an update. Plenty of parking, grounds pretty. No TV In room-----very... Sweet, comfortable, safe, homey: these words sum up this B & B. Nice location on a residential, tree-lined street with parking and close to everything. A very nice host. The breakfast was awesome and the butler's pantry well-stocked - an unusual gesture of hospitality. I recommend!

I am not a Bed and Breakfast person, as it were....I don't seek them out, but in this case, it was the best option. So with that said, I am really glad I picked The Looking Glass. The hosts were thoughtful and gracious; the home was clean and well maintained. The bed was comfortable and the food was homemade and... More

Stayed during the week of the fair. Central location made it easy to walk to local restaurants, stores, and the fairgrounds and onsite (and off street) parking made it easy to get around with the added traffic. Owner was friendly and efficient without being intrusive. Beds were comfortable, breakfast was excellent, we didn't notice any noises at night (from outside... More

The rooms were comfortable and clean and nicely decorated. It really felt like your own home because the family's quarters were separate from the lodging so you could use the livingroom without feeling like you were imposing. The breakfast was delicious with hot scones from the oven, an egg dish, fresh fruit and a pastry. The whole feel of the... More

If you want delicious breakfasts, a gracious host, and a Bed and Breakfast in walking distance to town, The Looking Glass is the place for you. The Looking Glass is clean, comfortable, and its owner, Carrie, is a wonderful cook with great advice about the town. The location couldn't be better - right around the corner from the town's shops... More

We really enjoyed our stay at the Looking Glass B&B; the innkeeper was very welcoming and the B&B is really homely. We stayed in the Cherry Blossom room which had a lovely porch to sit in and a private entrance leading to the garden / carpark. The breakfast was freshly prepared each day with lots of variety and there was... More

Rhinebeck is a charming town for a weekend getaway, and The Looking Glass was an enjoyable place to stay; the house is lovely, and Cari is a personable hostess and willing to share suggestions. Located just a short distance from the center of town, in warmer weather it would be a pleasant walk. While the room was a bit small... More
