We arrived late at night to a filthy shower with mold and hair in it. Consequently, we could not shower after driving several hours to reach the hotel. We were promised by front desk staff that we "could take our time in the morning" and as soon as we left the room, we could notify the front desk, and housekeeping would clean the shower. The next morn @ approx. 9:30am, a housekeeper angrily banged on our door, screaming that we needed to vacate the room "IMMEDIATELY!" She insisted that we had no business being there if we wanted the shower cleaned. I asked this obnoxious woman to leave, but she REFUSED, continuing to bang on our door and calling our room to insist that she was "the manager" and that she was instructing us to vacate the room NOW while her staff were on our floor! Keep in mind, that I had prepaid the entire stay, and had been told by the night manager that we were to "take our time" in the morning! My teen was so traumatized by this woman's behavior that he began to weep profusely. There were no eggs or protein on 2 of the mornings we attempted to eat breakfast (and no coffee on another morn), and it took staff more than 20 mins to refill/replace these items. There was flaking paint both inside and surrounding the pool, and I emerged from the pool with paint chips all over my feet and lower legs! I only hope the paint was nontoxic. When I requested a partial refund for the stay, especially given the abusive behavior of "the manager" banging angrily on our door, I was told for a couple weeks that the GM was "out" and not available to help. On another day, approximately 3 weeks later, she did agree to refund between 33-50% of the stay, but the refund was then denied by another hotel employee! After refusing to return my calls for an additional 3 weeks, eventually, the GM offered a 20% refund, which we declined since this is not what the GM had agreed to refund me! Due to the completely dishonest, unethical, and unsafe behavior of the staff at this hotel, we have filed a formal complaint both with Choice Hotels, Priceline, and government authorities. In the meantime, I would urge others not to believe the "vanilla ratings" you see on many review websites. Although I have previously left a review of this hotel, based upon the experience described above, both the Choice Hotel and Priceline websites, quickly removed my truthful but very negative review.…
