I just spent a weekend at the Ransome Inn, and I couldn't be more pleased. When I booked the room, I told Dan that I was traveling with my dog, so he suggested the room over the garage. It is one big room (I'm guessing about 700 square feet) with a sofa bed and 2 love seats, a murphy bed,... More

We frequent this B&B each time we visit our son and family in Rocky Point and have never been disappointed! Congrats to the owners Dan and Barb for making my husband a believer in the B&B concept of lodging! We travel frequently and in 44 years of marriage he totally refused to stay in a B&B. There are very few... More

Arriving a few days prior to the closing of our house we decided to stay at the Ransome Inn. We stayed at the Carriage House which is separate from the main building. It was private, homey and extremely clean. We couldn't have been more pleased. The owners, Barbara and Dan were so nice & so accommodating. They offered suggestions as... More

My husband and I and our dog Murphy recently spent time at The Ransome Inn. Barbara and Dan made us feel right at home. We stayed in The Carriage House and it felt like the next best thing to home. It was quite comfortable and spacious and was very convenient to all we had to do. Having just moved out... More

We we were over charged for my son $75 a night and it did not state a extra person charge on the web site. He did not even sleep in a bed or a extra room, he slept on the couch. The coffee pot was broken and there was no coffee in the room anyway, nor were there usable utentsils,... More

I'm sorry that LouisBlessed was unhappy with our B&B. We strive to make all our guests experiences a pleasant one.The rate we charged her was exactly what was on our website www.ransomeinn.net which includes an extra charge $25 per night not $75 for overnight additional guests. I guess the adage that "you can't please everyone no matter how hard you... More

Ransome Inn is a great place to stay. The rooms are spacious and nicely decorated. Barbara our hostess prepares a wonderfully tasteful breakfast. So if you are going to the North Shore on Long Island call the Ransome Inn first.

My husband was having minor surgery at a hospital in Port Jefferson, and I wanted to stay nearby at a place appealing and comfortable enough that it would brighten his spirits. The Ransome Inn would be lovely in any circumstance, but even in February [and a month later, when we returned for second part of the procedure], it was delightful.... More

On the spur of the moment we decided to get away for the weekend and took a chance on this bed and breakfast. What a wonderful experience it turned out to be. The owners were great hosts and very friendly. Because it's pet friendly, our dog, Dexter Morgan, also had a great time playing with the owners' four lovely dogs.... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Ransome Inn Circa 1868, this cedar-clapboard covered, side-gables house began as a simple Cape Cod with a central-front entry-way with windows placed symmetrically on either side. Over the years, a front porch was added as were dormers on both the front and back. Recently a two story addition on the west side of the house gave an extra room to each floor.
