The Cider Mill Inn is a romantic country retreat in the heart of the Hudson Valley that was once a working dairy farm and apple orchard. Our 1865 beautifully restored Victorian farmhouse offers a tranquil setting where the rest of the world will seem far away while you're exploring the grounds, relaxing in an Adirondack chair overlooking Pochuck Creek, or soaking your cares away in the garden hot tub or pool. Escape to our elegant guest rooms replete with private baths, spa robes, Cable television, Wi-Fi, down comforters and luxurious sheets.
This B&B was on a list provided by a food tour company for an event I attended in Beacon. (I have since alerted the company of my experience.) When I arrived, the first thing I noticed was that the front yard could use some tidying up. Some of the container plants had seen better days. The owner was quite chatty, which normally would not be an issue except that I had been driving for a while and wanted to get settled in and use the restroom! I did appreciate his flexibility in serving my breakfast the next day a bit early so I could get to my tour on time, since I had a 45-minute drive. The baked goods and fruit were a good start to breakfast. The egg frittata was hot and tasty, if a bit salty. The sausage link looked and tasted like a Hot Dog. And tater tots?! Is that now considered a gourmet breakfast? The second morning breakfast entree was disappointing. So much butter on the eggs that they tasted greasy, overly done bacon, overly sweet French toast. Good scone, at least. I was thankful for the fridge with water and Diet Coke. My biggest concerns were the extension cord and outlet situations (see pictures) and the extensive mineral buildup on the shower head. One, a potential fire hazard, and the other just gross.…

Just back from our stay here and happy to report the place is as good as others say. Great location, VERY friendly inn keeper and lovely, seasoned rooms. The building was erected in 1865. If you like history, this place is your thing. Historical, BUT with all the modern appointments that made our stay comfortable and pleasant. Proprietor Bob is a friendly man with all the right stuff to be a host. The property and rooms are immaculate, everything works and there are some nice amenities including a huge swimming pool, 24/7 coffee and tea, microwave and fridge upstairs and AC in every room, plus ceiling fans and Wifi. Lovely decor too and the little things like scented towels and delightful shower cosmetics. plus hot, hot water, good water pressure in the shower, and thick terry robes in each room make this a cozy sport to hang your hat after a busy day out exploring the environs. Breakfast was fresh, hot and delicious and Bob was flexible with creating offerings based on our preferences. We did not leave for 90 minutes after check out because we spent the time chatting with Bob, he is that personable. We have spent much time at B&Bs here and in Europe. this place gets five stars!…

Bob the owner made sure we had everything we needed and served beautiful, delicious breakfasts during our two-night stay with our friends. Loved the staircase up to the 2nd flr where our room was private, cozy and filled with sunshine. The parlor on the 1st flr was special and spent both evenings relaxing, chatting and sipping beverages.

We just spent two nights at the Cider Mill Inn near Warwick NY. The owner, Bob was helpful in getting us all the directions we needed for a hike on the Appalachian Trail and restaurants for dinner. He even called his daughter who lived out of town to get the answer to a question for us. Don’t be put off by the appearance of the outside of the house. Once inside everything is clean and cozy. The breakfasts were top notch with lots of extra touches. Coffee and tea and biscottis available 24/7. A pleasant sitting room and everything set up for a glass of wine after visiting local winery An up to date tv and easy to use remote in the room Would definitely recommend this low key relaxing place.

Charming room (steep stairway!) and very friendly but not intrusive host Bob Lipinski. Excellent breakfast of fresh baked scones, poached pear, mini frittatas, bacon and roasted potatoes. Only drawback was a tiny bathroom worthy of a French hotel, but otherwise a very pleasant experience.

Cider Mill Inn was all we wanted/needed and some. Bob allowed us to check in earlier than the posted check in time (we had a red eye flight from West coast and knew we would be exhausted upon arrival and made pre-arrangements for this) once at inn we were provided with local information by Bob and found some of the best pizza at Franks Pizza in nearby Warwick, NY. The breakfasts were fantastic, very elegant and tasty. We would stay here again.

My husband and I recently stayed here and really enjoyed the night. The host Bob was gracious and friendly. He greeted us when we arrived and gave us information about the area. He recommended restaurants and answered any questions that we had. We stayed in the Gala Suite which was very nice and extremely spacious. The bathroom had a Jacuzzi tub which was in great condition. The decor is a little outdated but added to the charm of the stay.

We ended up pulling up to this run down "haunted house" and I was afraid to get out of the car. The owner "greeted" me at the door which he would not open, or barely, saying, well you're too early we need time to get your room ready, go hike the trail or go to a cider mill or orchard then promptly shut the door. Incredibly rude. Did I mention his rotten teeth? We then scrolled back through reviews and realized the true ones were the bad reviews! We lost our money and booked the holiday inn nearby instead. Truly awful that they are passing their run down House off as a charming B and B. Ugh! run away fast from this one!

My girlfriend and I were looking for a nice bed and breakfast to stay at after spending the day at the warwick winery. We found this place via Orbitz and it seemed to have decent reviews compared to other hotels in the area but what a mistake. They have a strict policy regarding check in time being between 3pm and 6pm, so we arrived at 3pm only to find the door locked and no one to answer as we knocked on the door several times. We tried calling the phone number provided but got a voicemail mailbox that was full. We called for about an hour as we sat on the front steps hoping someone would answer or open the door for us. Finally we got in touch with the owner Bob who advises his daughter would let us in. Minutes later we heard the door unlock, never were we greeted by anyone just heard the door unlock. Went to open the door and it was magically unlocked. This should of been our second red flag but we decided to continue on. We went up to the room put our bags down and my gf saw a large bug on the floor. No big deal I killed it then went to turn the air conditioner down and there were atleast a dozen more bugs! It was disgusting. We packed our bags and ran out! Tried calling the owner but again was unable to get in contact with him. Finally called orbitz who after several hours were able to get in touch with the owner he refused to give us our money back and said that we used the room and we lied about the bugs. Attached r the pics of some of the bugs. STAY AWAY! Not to mention the pool was green and looked disgusting along with the rest of the property that was dirty and unkept. …

As expected for a B&B in a house built in the 1880’s...authentic, a little dusty-musty, needed some yard work and a deep cleaning. But expecting that makes the visit more charming and less annoying. Kind of like going to visit a great-aunt's house. Host, Bob was doing all the work himself, and probably could have used an extra hand. Yet, he saw after all our needs, and proved to be a hospitable and friendly host. Kudos for yummy breakfasts...needed a nap after! We completely forgot about the hot tub, so don't know if it was useable, but the swimming pool water was green. Cortland room was quaint with a teeny bathroom (but glad to have private one). Bed and pillows were reasonably comfortable, but not heavenly.
