This campground is perfect, it is very convenient to the town of Phonecia and just a short drive to some attractions. The campground is clean and the scenery is just amazing. I would recommend a campsite right along the river. The owner George is very nice and helpful, his house is located in the campground but he is not overbearing...

We stayed fourth of july weekend the place was packed. The owners are nice and accommodating. The campground is nicely located in a small town on the creek. The veiw was spectacular we loved our site (#4). The bathrooms/showers where a mess and the owners are only half the blame because the people who where there obviously have no respect...

Myself and a bunch if friends have been coming here for the better part of a decade the owners are very nice and so are the views on site yes the sites are small and yes during memorial day weekend labor day and 4th of July the camp is full of younger kids drinking and partying but isn't that what...

We also had a bad experience here. Basically the owners were very unthoughtful and unwelcoming. We told them by both phone and e-mail that we would be arriving late, yet they made no effort to inform us how to check in and find our site. The office was locked and there was no sign or info, and their house onsite...

We spent two nights here with our pop-up. Our location was beautiful, right on the bank of the Esopus. George was very pleasant from check-in to checkout. Location is great for walking into town for shopping, eating, etc. Bring a roll of toilet paper - it seems some campers like to use it as kindling - and it keeps disappearing.

We were just winging it when we went to the Catskills and came across this campground on a busy weekend after checking out some others. The owner is the nicest and most helpful guy ever. We got a spot right on the water, one of the last in the place. The spots are close together and small but the view...

Went there for a weekend with friends. I'm new to camping and I must say the sites were very very close to each other. But all sites had a Firepit and picnic table. We were next to the creek and walked out on it. But the sites are so close you do hear everything. PROS. The male showers were nice...

You should know what you're getting into: Black Bear Campground is not a traditional camping site, it's more of a place to drink and be merry in the woods. Each campsite is very close to its neighbors and there is no quiet hour -- if you are a light sleeper you should definitely bring ear plugs or headphones. The facilities...

This isn't what I call camping; it's more like sleeping in a frat house parking lot. The entire campsite is quite small, about the size of a very large backyard. You're no more than 10 feet from other tents, and we could see street lights from the shopping strip just yards away through the trees; it's right in town, not...

We stopped there with no reservations in the middle of July, and were surprised that about 2/3 of the sites were available. The owner told us that he was fully booked the next day, which was a Friday. We chose a site on the shore of Esopus Creek (mountain stream) which covered the ambiant noise of the town. This was...
