The place is beautiful and the staff is incredible! Would highly recommend. The food is fabulous and the everyone was soon nice. I came for a yoga retreat and it was so amazing. The pool feels great and the hiking trails were pretty cool.

I traveled from San Francisco to Menla by myself to go on my first retreat, a class called the Sacred Feminine with Isa Gucciardi and Bob Thurman. It was so very special, I don't really know where to begin. The land itself is beautiful beyond words. Deer munching on tree leaves right in front of you on your way to class. It was SO incredibly green, lush and teeming with life. Always something beautiful to witness every step you take. The staff were helpful, the spa is next level - amazing thangkas everywhere, I had a much needed massage that left me feeling blissful, nurtured and pain free. There were lots of other services available that I wish I would have had the time to part in. Isa and Bob are amazing teachers - they made complex and dense subject material easy to understand. Plenty of opportunities to ask questions and chat with them as well. The group of people that work there and were attending classes were very kind with open hearts - that was also a huge part of why I felt so happy there. I met some really amazing people. I will definitely be back!

I recently visited Menla for a workshop and weekend away. It was my first time there and I was really impressed with the beauty and serenity of the place. Not only that, the food was healthy and delicious and my room was very comfortable and clean. I wish I had more time to enjoy the spa, but the one massage I received was great. I was surprised to find 1 & 2 star reviews of Menla on this site and after reading several of them wonder if this is a negative campaign that is not related to the actual experience of the venue.

This place is amazing, the people are super, the location is inspirational, the activities are great. The food is whole some and good. If you would like to expose your self to new ideas this place is great. It is not a place of luxury. The spa is great but primarily focused on health and not a Mandirin Oriental experience.

Loved Menla and all the experiences they offer from on property hikes rated moderate to extremely difficult, with bubbling brook and waterfalls on property. I attended morning yoga with different instructors who were excellent and fully over indulged with the veggie buffet (no meat on site) with gluten free and vegan options. Many fresh greens from the organic on site garden. Delicious! No wine but you may bring your own. The spaces are indulgent with amazing views and low key Tibetan art and lovely carved Buddhas. You can attend programs or sit out and think or plan or write or hike on your own. The fine fall weather and lovely foliage were the perfect backdrop for a solitary restorative weekend where I could participate or not in programming. While the spa is NYC-priceworthy, it is lovely and services top notch. All in all a truly natural welcome respite from concrete jungle. Oh, NO CELL SERVICE makes it even better! Wifi though throughout buildings...
