It was my first time there, and I loved it ! It is super quiet and peaceful. The campground has it's own private beach on Lake Champlain. The beach is really cleaned, the water was hot and there wasn't any algues. Our site was cleaned, and had a lot of shades. It was perfect for a tent. Despite the fact... More

Drove in, pot-holes and all, in the road leading in. Just a quick visit for a swim in Lake Champlain. The beach requires some serious raking and clean-up from all the branches and driftwood. The sand is naturally black and brown from the iron-ore deposits. This I remember from my last visit over 20 years ago. The water is clear,... More

We were four girlfriends looking for a weekend out of the city and we got please with the view and the simplicity of this campground! Amazing sunset on the lac and very peaceful surrounding. Spend the whole day in the sand and in the water. Right next to our campsite where we would go to get more drinks or food.... More

This campground is superb! Many visitors frequent this site and most are exceptional visitors. Families and friends come for the same times and one can see they all have a good time. The sites are clean for your new set up and that is a plus. The beach is nearby and there is water access for boats, canoes, swimming, etc.... More

I rolled in a little late and was lucky to find a sight on the water which meant I had a few mosquitoes around me, but not that bad. I was up pretty early and happened on the sunrise which was amazing. There are some campsites that face this, and if I was planning a trip here, I would try... More

This used to be my very favorite camping place. We skipped going there last year and returned this year, only to be incredibly disappointed. As others have indicated, nearly all of the fire pits are broken and many are crumbly apart. The bathhouses need maintenance. In the one closest to us, a couple of the toilets weren't flushing properly during... More

Maybe the State Park has major funding issues, and if so it's very sad, because the site is pretty exceptional on Lake Champlain. Yes, there are marshes and mosquitoes, yes some sites are incredibly small and others lack privacy, but the lake is wonderful and the environment is great. The problem is maintenance which is really minimal. Some of the... More

If you are lucky enough to get a site ON the lake you will be VERY happy. If not.......bring a lot of bug repellent ! The interior of this campsite is very swampy and. unless you own a thermocell I would NOT recommend it. However it is quite the antithesis if you can get a spot out of there !... More

This is a state park run facility so it's very clean. The campground is also very woodsy so most of the sites are private. However most of the inner sites are smaller and surrounded by swampy areas but bugs didn't seem to be too bad when we stayed. The best sites are in the back on the river bank and... More

The land is beautiful! However, it is very buggy. I camp a lot and never complain about the bugs but this was excessive. We stayed there so we could hike some of the high peaks. It was a convenient area to stay for this. Close to the mountain. Also a lot of amenities nearby.
