I came here on the eat stay love February package that included a 50 dollar credit for dinner, free breakfast for 2 and a 100 dollar credit for the spa. The service was amazing. Everyone who helped us knew that we were here for the package and knew what the package entailed. The staff functioned as a unit and were extremely organized. I made reservations for everything we did per staff request and it made our anniversary weekend smooth, relaxing and fun. Dinner was delicious. Steak, lobster, salmon and jumbo shrimp. The atmosphere was romantic with dimmed lights and live music. The restaurant certainly provides a fine dining experience. In comparison to other fine dining restaurants I’ve visited I would say that the service was right on and the price of the meal was considerably cheaper than other fine dining restaurants. With that being said we didn’t have any drinks and we had to wait 15 minutes to be greeted my a server. Before we could even complain the manager apologized to us and provided us with a free jumbo shrimp appetizer on the house and Right after the server greeted us. The fact that we didn’t have to complain really impressed me and showed me that management has high standards for the restaurant. The free breakfast was also delicious. The potatoes and eggs with vegetables made for a filling and tasty morning. On a scale from 1 to 10 I would rate my experience an 8.5. Me and my wife plan on making this an anniversary ritual for years to come!

Was looking for a nice getaway for Christmas for me and my girl which is hard nowadays. Got a good price online for a 2 night stay and decided to take advantage.

With Covid, they closed 2 floors to help maintain social distance and you had to make reservations to use the pool/hot tub area. The gym was closed but didn't care about that. The pool was nice and with there only being a few people at the hotel, I got to use the pool and hot tub a lot.

The room was comfy and had a fridge to keep drinks and snacks . Had a nice view down the hill, had a comfy bed, a nice shower and a TV with a good selection of channels.

The desk clerks did a great job and were very friendly and helpful the whole weekend. The lobby was very festive with the Christmas decor. They did take out dinners to make up for dining room being closed. Though the meal was more than the room, it was very good consisting of juicy beef, salad, locally made bread with garlic butter, brussel sprouts, scalloped potatoes, chocolate cake and mac and cheese. When we got our food, no one was in the overlook of the outside pool and they let us in in the room with the chandelier in it which was very good. The chef came out to see how everything was which was appreciate.

My girlfriend ended our stay with a deep tissue massage she just went on about being one of the best she ever had and made her very relaxed.

It the past, the desk clerk told me the place was always filled so I felt a bit bad for them but it was great to seem to have the place to ourselves. It made for a very relaxing and pleasant stay.

Got a gift certificate for get a free night stay and looking forward to going back

We stayed at Woodcliff for 6 nights, and it was very busy with a conference my husband attended and a couple of weddings. The front desk was very attentive and did their best with the few requests I made. However, only one elevator was working for 5 of the 6 days so the wait was quite long. Also, the lights in the elevator were very dim if they were working at all.
The rooms were large and clean, but if you want maid service you have to call every day to request it. The fitness center was well equipped, and the pool was PERFECT!! I loved the pool and the view from the deck behind it.
The golf course was lovely, as were the hiking trails nearby.
The breakfast that was served daily as part of the conference was very mediocre - powdered eggs, weak coffee, ineffective toaster.
The hotel needs a few updates: Remove the popcorn ceiling, update the carpet, open the gym before 8:00am, and provide daily maid service with one request instead of daily requests.

First time visit: I’m guessing this hotel is past its prime, showing its age. Tile was separating from the wall, corners looked worn, aging upholstery.
We stayed in 2 rooms (adult children next door) and it took 4 calls to get the reservation right as part of a wedding block. I never did get a 100% correct confirmation emailed. None included the ‘daily resort fee,’ the single most dishonest feature of the hotel business (not just this one). I avoid hotels with this BS fee whenever possible. In the Woodcliff’s case, since it wasn’t included in my confirmations, there was no way I would pay it.
We enjoyed a lovely, relaxing morning by the pool - sun for those who wanted it, shade for those who were hot.
There’s quite a bit of artwork with a wide variety of styles. Someone at the front desk told me it’s the owner’s personal collection.
Like a previous guest, the breakfast staff for the most part seemed to be young and inexperienced while dinner’s was more professional.
At a hotel of this caliber daily housekeeping is expected. If it’s not provided, it should be made crystal clear to guests. That was NOT the case. For a 4-night stay, we only received housekeeping once after requesting it ‘too late’. How am I to know it’s too late if i’m not told I must request it?

I wanted to rate this hotel a 2.5 so I rounded up because they gave me a discount in apology for the poor service.

First the service issues:
- No drinking glasses in our room on check in
- We requested housekeeping, day 1 they never came. Went to the front desk to fetch towels and reiterated that we wanted housekeeping
- Day 2, no housekeeping again, another trip to fetch towels

When I mentioned this at checkout they immediately discounted my room 15%, which made me wonder if they never actually provide housekeeping and just hope people don't complain.

The place definitely needs a refurb. Lots of scraped walls, dinged doors. Weeds growing up between bricks in the pool area. Hot tub was broken the entire time and looked to have been out of order for a while. The pool isn't really indoor/outdoor since the connecting door was closed and it also appeared to have been like that for a while.

On the plus side, the room was clean and the bed was comfortable.

I don't have a complaint really. The hotel is lovely yet areas are dated. It needs some upgrading here and there. Our bed was very comfy, pillows soft. Tv large but we couldn't get netflix. The wifi was poor. We did try to call down to the front desk with a question and after 15 minutes of trying we finally went to the desk. When I told her we couldn't reach them her response was "ok". Nothing more. We were never told that the outdoor pool was NOT open. We also had to make reservations for the indoor pool, (totally understandable) but it could only be 1 hour at a time. That was a bummer. In order to sit outside in lounge chairs we had to get them from one side of the gated outdoor pool, carry them through the indoor pool back to the other side of the gated outdoor pool. A bit much! We were instructed by the front desk person to do it this way. I want to add that three weeks ago I stayed at a Fairfield inn in henrietta NY and I swear the room was just as nice and the staff there was stellar. So to pay double was a HUGE disappointment to us. My total was 417.00 for two nights. I just checked my bill and I've been billed 467.00 so clearly they have pulled extra for whatever reason. I will keep an eye on it and hope that the difference will be removed. I won't stay here again. It was a nice room, but I can pay much less for a nice room anywhere else.

Dear Kim L, Thank you for taking time to review us. We really appreciate the feedback and it helps us guide in areas we need to improve. We understand the frustration with the pool reservation process . As part of our COVID-19 protocols, the pool reservation process allows us to maintain social distancing as well as sanitize the area. Depending on the daily demand, when possible we are happy to offer multiple time slots. Again thank you for your feedback it is truly valued.

Despite the increase in room rates, the Woodcliff remains a quality accommodation option in the Rochester area. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, the bedding top quality and the restaurant, lounge and exercise facilities all excellent.

With the popularity of the Woodcliff for weddings, guests should be aware that the front-facing rooms in the wing of the hotel nearest the wedding reception tent can be very loud during evening receptions. It would be difficult to get to sleep before 11:30PM, sometimes even later, if a guest has a room in that location.

The Woodcliff Spa has always been excellent and has enhanced every stay. However, perhaps due to staffing challenges, the Spa has greatly reduced its services since the pandemic and is no longer as special to visit as it once was. It once was commonplace for the Spa to have a number of seasonal Spa specials but that no longer appears to be the case. It is unfortunate as the Spa often made a Woodcliff visit "extraordinary" as the hotel's phone line introduction still states.

This used to be a favorite of mine, but has seen my last visit. The price used to be competitive with surrounding hotels, but since the takeover from the new management company and “renovations” price has gone up without adding any value to the stay. Resort fee is a joke, especially when services are not offered. Housekeeping is by request only and must be scheduled in advance. Even we scheduled, they didn’t show up. For the prices charged, this needs to be addressed. “Short staffing” seems to be more of an excuse now as area hotels don’t seem to have the same issues. The restaurant is serviceable, but lacks any sort of finesse or consistency. Andy and Christi are gems.

Lastly, this is the first visit where I really felt staff was unfriendly and not helpful. Arriving back from dinner at around 10pm, no one is watching the front desk and need to wait until someone comes out the door. Day front desk staff borders on rude, but mostly disinterested. Housekeeping staff will pass you in the hallway and will ignore you even when greeted with a “good morning”.

There has certainly been a shift and I’m sad to say not for the better

We booked a package with three rounds of golf and three nights at the Woodcliff Hotel. From the first moment we were treated like VIPs. The bellman was very personable and will no doubt be successful in his career in hotel management. Thomas at the front desk was very helpful and changed our room so we could enjoy a sunset view. The hotel is beautiful. Our room was spacious and clean with lots of desk space, good lighting, large refrigerator and Keurig coffee maker. The bathroom was also perfect, a large counter, excellent lighting and a huge shower with good water pressure. The hotel has a very nice restaurant. We tried it the first night and decided right then to eat there each night of our stay. Very friendly and professional wait staff, excellent menu and beverage choices. There was live music in the bar Friday and Saturday night. Our package even included breakfast with a choice of buffet or a la carte. The hotel has a spa that we didn't have time to try, and is a popular destination for weddings. There is even a nine-hole golf course on property. The hotel is dog friendly, we saw a few cute dogs during our stay. Next time we are in this area we will definitely come back to the Woodcliff Hotel.

On 9/9/22 (yes that long ago) I reserved 2 rooms for the PGA tournament. I secured the paperwork which included confirmation numbers, etc.; in reliance bought PGA tickets, booked airline for multiple family members to come in, etc. On 4/26/23 less than a month before our trip, Mallory called to tell me the hotel was cancelling our reservation. They got a contract with CBS and want to keep that business (and our rooms). It did not matter that we had a reservation and that it was for any 2-room block, they just cancelled it. THIS HOTEL IS TO BE AVOIDED; you cannot rely on a reservation even with booking, confirmation, etc.

Not much difference "Executive-level guest rooms feature enhanced amenities and bedding, iHome radio, bathrobes, complimentary bottled water and free breakfast." It's when you get to the suite level that there is a big difference in size, layout, and extras.
