The property was located in a beautiful area, the rooms were clean and decorated nicely. The hosts couldn't have more accommodating and friendly which was so nice given that we were 10 people plus 2 dogs. Would definitely stay there again:)

I just travelled by ferry from New England and stayed at the Orient Inn- a short drive from the ferry landing. My sister came in from Long Island so it was a nice halfway meeting point. We enjoyed two nights during the week at the Inn and had a lovely time. Joan and Howard are very accommodating and experienced hosts. The atmosphere was low key, casual and relaxing. The Inn is an old farmhouse with a big wrap around porch with rockers and tables for breakfast.. Our room was very nice, clean, quiet with a/c and full bath. The breakfast was amazing, Joan emailed our selections the night before. All covid precautions were in place. We met friends in Greenport for shopping and dinner, took the ferries to Shelter Island and Sag Harbor and drove to the state park in the evening. The North Fork is a very special place, we enjoyed the short getaway.

I was celebrating a special birthday, and decided that a couple days on the North Fork were just the change of scene my husband and I needed. The Orient Inn looked spacious, quiet and well-tended online, and it was even better in person. Beautiful plantings, various seating areas on the big porch and in the yard, and a patio for breakfast or evening drinks (BYO).Our room (Room 2) had two comfy armchairs, a heavenly bed and plenty of space. Breakfasts were delicious, thanks to Joan's care, culinary training and a garden full of herbs. We also appreciated Joan's strict attention to Covid guidelines, keeping the inn at only half-full and making sure all guests agreed to wear masks in the public areas. We'll be back!

Just an amazing location with amazing guests that make you feel so at home. Went to Greenport and enjoyed the peacefulness of the surrounding area and parks. Our best meal by far was our breakfast prepared by Joan. Both Howard and Joan have perfected the B&B experience with beautiful comfortable rooms and amenities. You truly feel like you have been thrown back in time to a simpler time. Hope to be able to enjoy for many many years to come!

Excellent home away from home. Very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast offered would have been enough for the whole day. This is a great period residence built in 1906 and retains all of its original character.
