My girlfriend and I just returned from a last minute romantic getaway to the Catskills and had the pleasure of staying at Dorothy's bnb. The house had so much character and Dorothy made us feel right at home. The beds were super comfortable, the resident dogs were lovable and the morning breakfast was delightful. You can't go wrong staying here.
We had a lovely stay at the DeWitt Oak Hill for Labor Day weekend 2019. This was our first trip to the Catskills and this was a great way to experience it. Our favorite part of our stay at the inn were the daily 3 course breakfasts provided by Dorothee...extremely delicious and homemade. We were also happily surprised that they did clean our room daily similar to a hotel. The location's a bit out there so there's a lot of driving but to be expected...Hudson NY is about a 30 min drive away and we went there for dinner, bars, etc.
So glad we took the trip out of NYC and stayed here for a night. The house was amazing, just fabulous decor and loved all the antiques - very interesting and uber stylish and authentic. Owners were very welcoming and their dogs too, so nice to chat with them and they served a fabulous breakfast which you ate with other guests. Close to the walking trails of the Catskills and in a very attractive part of New York state. Thank you so much for a lovely stay, very memorable and so lovely to escape the madness of NYC for the night.
My wife and I could not reccomend the Dewitt enough. It is in a beautiful setting and Dorothy & Diane were wonderful hosts. The breakfasts we received each morning were worth the trip by themselves, and the rooms and space itself were also beautiful. Also, they made our little golden doodle puppy feel right at home. We will definitely be back.
This is the first online review of anything I’ve ever written, but it felt obligatory because of the wonderful time my boyfriend and I had at the DeWitt Oak Hill. Being from NYC, we were in need of a tranquil escape, and the DeWitt Oak Hill provided just that. The B&B is charming (and quite eclectic in decor), quiet, and located just far enough from the summer traffic in Hunter or Hudson. Our room (#48) was cozy, and it overlooked Catskill Creek, so we went to bed and awoke to the sound of birds and water running over rocks. Admittedly, we were a little nervous about the social, breakfast component of a B&B, but our hosts, Dorothee and Diane, became the main reason why we would recommend a stay at the DeWitt Oak Hill. Both hosts were kind, accommodating, and very knowledgeable about the surrounding towns and cities; we instantly felt at home. On top of that, the two meals they prepared were delicious, featuring local ingredients and obviously made care and thought. We left dreaming up reasons why would visit again. Highly recommended!…
