We recently stayed at Athina Luxury Suites, Cave suite with outdoor Jacuzzi for my husbands 40th and wedding anniversary. We have had an amazing time.
Service: Amazing! The staff (Aldo, Beatrice, Rosalinda and Kaylee) catered to all our needs! From catering to our breakfast choices, recommendations of vegetarian friendly restaurants, making reservations for us, booking transfers from hotel to Oia and to the airport, they would find the best quotes and offer choices. All done through whats app which was the most convenient and stress free process!
Room: We had an amazing room (17) with an outdoor jacuzzi, amazing views of the sunset and it was super clean! Room service was brilliant, it was super quick at all times!
Location: It was a great location to stay in, easily accessible to the town Center, it’s where you can start the hike to Oia (3.5 hours for us) and it has the best sunset views from your bed / balcony.
Would 100% book again and stay here if we were travelling back to santorini and I usually don’t like going back to same places twice so that we get to see new places but this place definitely!
Food: We were bed and breakfast, the in room breakfast was such a treat and delicious! As we’re the afternoon cocktails & mocktails!

Athina luxury suites are located slap bang in the centre of santorini easy travelling distance to both other ends of the island. It has the most stunning views from all the private balcony’s of the sunset. The hotel itself is beautiful and clean, the food is incredible. The staff are so helpful and friendly they all seem to get on really well as tight knit team ready to assist with anything! Breakfast is served every morning on your own balcony included in the price and the views are breathtaking. The pool with swim up bar is a lovely addition to cool off after exploring or just spend a day chilling in the sun. We had the most incredible trip and couldn’t recommend this hotel any higher!

Well what can i say about this place that has not already been written.
I went for my honeymoon during mid Jan and albeit cold (I was prepared for the cold) I had a wonderful time in Santorini and all thanks to the wonderful stay at Athina.
It is advisable to stay in Fira during winter for the chances of restaurants being open are more in Fira than in Oia.
I stayed in the Petit cave suite and it was just the right amount of space that i needed. It felt luxurious. They bring your breakfast at your selected time to the balcony or to your room( you have to select your breakfast options the night before) and everything feels so damn fresh.. the reception guys are friendly and will have someone appointed to help carry luggage up and down (mind you there are a lot of steps to the property and in Santorini in general) The view looking into the Aegean sea from your balcony is breathtaking. I enjoyed the hot tub 4 out of the 5 days i stayed there. If you are looking for luxury, amazing people and great views then Athina is your place

First thing to note, Fira is not great for a luxury break. Over touristic and over priced, stay in Oia! Sadly this hotel isn’t luxury. You can hear Fira nightlife from your bed. Breakfasts were awful. Any egg dish ordered comes in a bowl swimming in oil, see pics, we then requested our eggs and bacon be served on a plate not a bowl, all that turned up the next morning were eggs on a plate-no bacon at all. Greek yoghurt and honey pre-made for you, far too much honey added. Honey should be left for you to add yourself, see pics. We would request water with breakfast as there isn’t an option to select this in the digital menu and twice water failed to arrive. The last two days we got a printed a4 news paper, didn’t get this every morning which was poor. Rooms were cleaned daily at our request during covid, they took our dirty glasses and never replaced so we didn’t have anything to drink the complimentary water with. Hairs and stains in the bed on night of arrival, see pics. Not enough sunbeds for guests, even if you get one they’re a hard plastic and moulded into a shape meaning you can only lay on your back to sunbathe. Hour wait for lunch at the pool. No balcony is private, it’s where guests walk to get to their rooms. Good location and good views if you like Fira town (we wouldn’t stay in Fira again). Reception staff and the young pool guy were great. But sadly that was it from the team. We wouldn’t stay again.

We felt like we had struck gold finding Athina Luxury Suites, the whole experience was fantastic and we would love to visit again! The place is absolutely beautiful..from the decor to the views. The staff are all very lovely. The breakfast was insane, and being able to have it outside your room looking at the views was breathtaking. It was easy to arrange things via the hotel, we were able to arrange airport transfers, a private meal experience and quad bike rental. The private meal experience was stunning and is something we would recommend! The location is great, right in the middle of plenty of restaurants, bars and shops. The only things to improve would be timing- our breakfast was considerably late (30-40 mins) on two mornings and one day we had plans to go out and this impacted on our plans. The first day we were unable to get sun beds at the pool as they were all taken but we managed to get some after about an hour of waiting. We were there celebrating an anniversary and there was no acknowledgement of that by the staff which was unusual given experiences we have had elsewhere.

We stayed at Athina Luxury Suites for 2 nights in July and were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a Cave Suite with Outdoor Jacuzzi. The room was so unique, seemingly carved into the rock and featuring a lounge, separate bedroom and bathroom with great shower. The windows all faced the sea and the door opened up to the jacuzzi area and outdoor seating area, including sun loungers. Breakfast was served on the balcony each morning with a great selection (the bacon, granola and giant fruit platter were personal favourites of mine). Up the stairs was the large pool with swim up bar, with the mixologist making a great selection of cocktails, all whilst you could sit and look out over the stunning views. The main restaurant was nice but required reservation as was very popular for sunset dining. Only thing to be careful of is do not try and find this hotel yourself once arriving in Thira-arrange with hotel or call them to help you with luggage as it is a lot of steps down to the hotel and you could easily get lost or hurt yourself. The hotel staff will come up and help you with the luggage and make your walk down more enjoyable as you take in the views. Fantastic experience and would highly recommend again!

Our experience with Athina Luxury Suites was great start to finish, the staff are amazingly friendly and helpful, not to mention very accommodating and present whenever needed, our room was very clean and well-maintained, this continued for our entire stay as room service was seamless always provided fresh towels/bathrobes on daily basis. The breakfast was simply breathtaking, fresh food and well prepared, arriving on the requested time at your room.
There is a minor note that getting to the place involves a bit of a walk from the main road, but given all the positives it was barely an inconvenience.

When staying at this hotel you are paying primarily for the view. We stayed in the Royal Suite with outdoor jacuzzi.
The furniture, jacuzzi, and deck were not representative of the pictures online. The jets in the jacuzzi were time limited and only ran for about 5 mins at a time. Although the jets in the jacuzzi were suppose to be available up to 11pm or 12pm, they were cut off by 9.
Breakfast was complimentary but we did not receive the items we ordered, nor did we receive the complimentary spa massage that was to be included with our stay.
Customer service was ok but seemed dismissive.
Despite the 5-star restaurant, food from room service was subpar.
It’s also about 8 flights of stairs to get to the actual hotel, so be aware.
I was extremely disappointed with my stay. The rating is purely for the view the hotel offered. It’s truly breathtaking.

Our stay at Athina was perfect from the moment we arrived. The staff and service was fantastic throughout and they could not do more for you. All wore masks and take the safety of guests very seriously.
The location has panoramic views of the caldera with a beautiful pool area to relax and watch the stunning sunset. The towns restaurants and bars are a few minutes walk away.
I cannot recommend this place enough, one of the most beautiful places I have visited in the world.
Be sure to enjoy a cocktail and chat with the guys at the pool bar!

Overall staff were very good obliging and friendly . The hotel is in a very good location with beautiful views overlooking the Calderra. Breakfast and service was excellent. The luxury suite is very small and overpriced . The bathroom is tiny, bedroom is very average and the sitting area Is very uncomfortable. There are no cushions against the living room wall. The swimming pool beds and chairs are extremely uncomfortable. Would not recommend staying there at current price levels.

We stayed in a cave suite and enjoyed it. As expected, there are no windows in a cave suite except the door. We were on the end, so didn’t have foot traffic passing through our balcony space.
