Staying at Archontiko was a dream way to end our holiday in Greece. The location is perfect in the centre of the action of Fira but in a quiet street. I preferred Fira to Oia as it had a more relaxed vibe and better transport links than Oia. Words cannot describe the amazing view, one of the most breathtaking views I've ever seen. The villa itself was spotlessly clean and we'll appointed but the bed was a little hard, the owners were lovely and cleaned the villa each day to a very high standard. They were also able to organise a porta for our bags and transport to the airport. Would most definitely stay here again, it was great value for money compared to many of the other more expensive places with a similar view. Good to note that you need a good level of mobility to stay here as you'll need to navigate some steep stairs on the street and inside the villa as the bedroom is upstairs.…
We cannot say enough about our experience at this hotel. From start to finish it was absolutely amazing. First we were greeted by the owner at the top of the stairway (top of the street) whom insisted on carrying our luggage for us. This hotel has 3 units only. It was stunning. The bedroom is upstairs with a gorgeous view of the ocean and volcano. In the mornings donkeys would walk by and I would run to the window to see them pass by. There is a semi private rooftop terrace that in my opinion was the nicest on the caldera. Six lounge chairs (just enough to accommodate the hotel guests). The view is completely unobstructed. We watched the sunsets there every night. The location is close to the action of Fira but just far enough away that we had no problems sleeping at night. The owners are very kind and helpful. They called us our shuttles and helped organize where to meet them (the cliffside is pedestrian traffic only). I would recommend this hotel for anyone who wants to stay in the absolute best location, with amazing views and personalize service. I would not recommend staying here if you are loud and like tonsray up late as the owners live in the complex as well and that would be disrespectful. I would stay here again in a heartbeat! …
We booked our stay at Archontiko based on a recommendation from a friend. It was absolutely the right choice as the hotel had an excellent location and the owner and manager were very helpful and accomodating. Our room was beautifully decorated with the most spectacular view of the Caldera. We would definitely recommend this hotel to everyone looking for affordable yet exceptional accomodation in Santorini!
We adored this place, the views from your private balcony were only blocked by occasional tourists stopping to take pictures. From sunrise through late night the panorama was full of classic and surprising images. We requested but never received a welcome email explaining how to find this hidden gem (you can't drive but it's not a bad walk once you park) yet when I mentioned this our host seemed genuinely surprised- apparently everyone else got one. Even this wasn't too disruptive. The famous donkey's of Santorini would run by every so often which only added to the color. Highly recommend this tiny jewel. Our suite was 2 stories and the stairs were more like a ladder so if you have mobility issues you'll want to think twice although if you have mobility issues Santorini is not the place for you.…
