You simply could not find a better location for your stay in Santorini than this hotel, located smack in the centre of Thira. Whilst not the fanciest property on the island by any means, the location means you don’t need to leaves our hotel to jostle with the masses to se the sunset and taxis can get as close as anywhere and the walk is an easy 100m from the drop of point. (No hotel on the view side has drop off). The reception team are very friendly and super helpful with tips and info. There are so many restaurants close by. There is a small plunge pool, but no swimming pool, so if that is a must for you look elsewhere. The rooms are very clean and simply furnished and the breakfast is typical continental. I felt very lucky to have found this hotel and for the price, I think you cannot do better.…
Awesome location, comfortable large bed. spectacular views, wonderful stay, spacious room with really large shower. Great breakfast with a variety of meats, cheeses, croissants, and of course Greek yogurt and fresh fruit! Wonderful hospitality and service.
Never met a staff as friendly and genuinely nice, every single person has a smile on their face and is willing to help and cares for your needs. Salim and his amazing fresh breakfast deserves more than 5 stars. The view is breathtaking and the hotel and their many beautiful potted plants are well kept up with. Conclusion impeccable customer service, super clean, amazing view and very well located.
Where do I start.....we had a wonderful time at this hotel, it had everything we needed. This hotel is a hidden gem in a busy and expensive location and the cost of the Kavalari is very reasonable compared to other hotels close by. The views are beautiful which is why the cost of hotels on the cliff edge is high. People flock to see the views but at the Kavalari you get to watch the sunsets and Caldera from the luxury of your own balcony in a quiet crowdless space and photograph them all you like. That’s worth paying for. The staff here are friendly and more than helpful where they can be. We had a superior room (room 11) which is 2 flights down from reception. We had read the web page and wanted a bigger room with a balcony, we got what it said in the booking and what we paid for. Not all rooms have a balcony and these are cheaper but it clearly tells you what you get for your money on the web pages. The rooms are unique as this is a converted fishing captains house, don’t expect square modern hotel rooms, they are not. Most rooms are white washed cave type uneven walls which made it different. Thats what added to the character of this holiday for us, which we liked. The shower was small but had good strong hot water supply and the towels were lovely white & clean and changed daily. The room was spacious and had a big bed which was made daily and bins emptied daily. Fridge in room so you could keep your own drinks cold. Hairdryer in bathroom and tv in bedroom with limited news channels. Breakfast out on the seating landing was a served continental with plenty of nice fresh food : bread, boiled eggs, choc au pain, local cheese tarts, croissants, ham, cheese salami, fresh fruit salad and Greek yogurt tea and coffee everyday again sitting watching that spectacular view! We couldn’t want more. Little jacuzzi was nice to put feet in during the warm days when we got back from walking but it is cold water so we were not brave enough to actually sit in it even though the weather was 23 degrees. Loads of places to sit out in comfort and watch the world go by and sun sets. Hotel sat right on the Main Street to the bars, restaurants and shops, everything is on your door step. Bus station 5 min walk which takes you to all the other towns hourly for around 1.80-2.80 euros each way. The hotel is on a cliff side, do not go if you don’t want to climb stairs, again it’s part of the hotels charm and reflects the whole town which has stairs in all directions every couple of meters. I cannot stress how good this hotel is for the price, other hotels nearby are charging up to £300-£500+ per night for same views. I would definitely recommend booking a superior room upwards.…
The rooms at the Kavalari Hotel are cave-like and bathroom is small. BUT-the view made up for it. We had a great sunset and sunrise view everyday!. Our room was facing the water! Breakfast was very good. Dena and Lorenzo provided excellent service. The hotel is very close to restaurants and shopping centers.
