Main pool in the centre, up the steps is another pool, the snack bar and restaurant. This pool we found to be very peaceful and the pool up the steps much livelier.

El Greco Resort garners high marks for its exceptional service, with staff members frequently lauded for their dedication to making guests' stays memorable. The rooms, celebrated for their cleanliness and comfort, sometimes draw criticism when facing the road. The lively atmosphere of the resort, with rooms that open directly outside, contributes to a vibrant and welcoming experience. While the hotel's amenities, including multiple pools and proximity to Fira, are popular, guests occasionally remark on the chilly pool temperatures and the cost of extras. The hotel's cleanliness and location are consistently praised, though some find the pricing to be on the higher side.

Location is just a 10 minute easy walk to Fira and about 15 minutes in the other direction to a smaller village with some restaurants. There is a bus stop both in Fira and in this village. There is also a brew pub nearby.

Resort is very clean and staff are friendly. It is family friendly.

Breakfast was good but can get crowded…there are actually two breakfast restaurants so try the quieter one in the back of the resort if you want fewer crowds.

Sun beds were taken by breakfast with towels being placed as early as 7 am.

The WiFi is awful and even after they came into our room and fixed the router, it was still weak. Without that fix it was so spotty that it was worthless.

There are many large groups here and fortunately there are numerous pools so you can explore to find one to meet your needs,

The larger room is worth the upgrade…we had lots of room as a couple along with a private balcony overlooking the pool. We recommend a second level to enjoy the balcony instead of a patio right by the pool. The second floor also offered a large back deck which was a bonus sunny area.

You can arrange many tours from the resort and the front desk is knowledgeable.

Spent a wonderful 3 nights at this hotel and loved everything about it other than no in-room coffee maker. We had a lovely junior suite (a complimentary upgrade from our booked superior) with a huge patio facing the caldera with a stunning view of the nightly sunset. The hotel is within a short walk of Fira, which is much more frenzied. The 5 pools were good sized, very clean with comfortable sunbeds. Breakfasts were good, as were our lunches at the poolside bar and our one buffet dinner. Staff couldn’t be nicer and helpful, particularly those at reception and in the restaurants. The hotel arranged our transfer from the airport, a caldera cruise as well as a transfer to their sister property in Perivolos. We also learned they could have arranged an ATV rental at a far cheaper rate than what we paid in town and that would have included a hotel dropoff/pickup. The room was nicely appointed with quilts in the closet, and the shower was amazing. The doors with shutters and shuttered windows opened multiple ways. The property is nicely landscaped with lots of great decor. If I returned to Santorini I would definitely stay here again!

The location of this hotel was just right, which means 15 minutes from the airport (but next to no aircraft noise as other side of island) and a 10 minutes walk into the main town of Fira.
The hotel was clean, and I mean clean ! The chambermaids were all extremely polite and did a wonderful job each day. The pool areas were swept each evening, and sometimes during the day if leaves falling. The pools were lovely and clear and no pools of sunscreen floating on them from the many sunbathers.
The room was just right with air conditioning when needed, which was not often considering the heat as the walls were nice and thick and kept the heat out. The facilities in the room were good and all worked as they should.
The breakfast food was OK, but could do with a little more selection/cereals, but the fruit was plentiful and fresh and the restaurant clean/tidy and good choice of drinks.
We were half board, but would return as bed and breakfast. The evening meals were fine(for inclusive buffet), and al-a-carte had more selection. When the town has SOOOOO many restaurants I can see why there were not many at dinner as they had gone into the town, which we ended up doing for the last 3 nights and so glad we did because of the choice.
We will return to the hotel without a doubt, but this time B&B.
Note: when we went there was a lack of sunbeds, as other people have mentioned, but we investigated this and this was due to COVID still, but if you asked for another sunbed they brought one out to you and slowly the lack of them was diminished. Ask and you shall receive :-)

Located on the outskirts of Fira, the location was perfect for us but may not suit everyone. As is standard the reception area is spotless as are the grounds and pool areas. Rooms are simply furnished, a sofa would be a good addition and the balcony furniture was in need of replacing. Rusty furniture doesn’t make you want to use it. Also be aware of the tap / basin in the bathroom, turn it on gently otherwise you get covered in water. Rooms are cleaned daily and this can take place at any time during the day. We did find that if we were cleaned early we wouldn’t get towels until late afternoon. If you want to relax by the pool you need to get your towels on a bed before 0900 as there aren’t enough beds for the size of the hotel. Breakfast offers a decent selection but would be better if the hours were extended. If you want a relaxing experience aim for 0800-0830 as any later and the restaurant is full and you will wait for a table, cutlery and food! Check out day is where they really let themselves down, they do not offer room extensions or a courtesy room even when the hotel isn’t full which unfortunately leaves the wrong final experience.

Stayed in this hotel in June. We arrived late and we met George on reception who was so friendly and helpful. As we were both celebrating special birthdays we got an upgrade which was lovely and we were very grateful. On arrival to the room there were two little cakes and a bottle of sparkling wine which was such a nice surprise. There are two restaurants in the hotel and our room was near the small restaurant so we had breakfast there each morning which was buffet style and plenty of choice for everyone. We had food twice in the bar in the hotel and it was very tasty. Big shout out to Julie who works in the bar. She is a very efficient, friendly person with a great sense of humour. She made us laugh every time we saw her and she is a credit to this hotel. Also a special mention of Alexandra (dark hair) who was working for breakfast most mornings and she was there in the restaurant the night we dined there. The waiter I think his name was Dionigis was great aswell. He recommended food and wine for us and he is also very efficient and friendly. The food in the restaurant was amazing we dined from the A La Carte Menu. The housekeeping staff do an amazing job and our rooms were cleaned every day with fresh towels and we even had out towels turned into beautiful swans which were lovely. The hotel is a short walk into Fira where you can get buses to any part of the island for only 1.60 euro each way an amazing service. If you walk across the road from the hotel the view is just amazing and we watched the sunset here many nights. There are 6 or 7 pools in this hotel and if you were lucky enough to be up early enough to get a sunbed it is very relaxing by the pool. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Santorini you won't be disappointed.

El Greco definitely feels like a newer place for the island. We booked it through an expedia travel package but I really couldn’t find more than aerial Google Earth shots of it. First, everyone here will say go into the heart of Fira or go to Oia for the sunset. This place has an amazing sunset view and you don’t have to fight anyone over it! The sun sets over Therassia, so you don’t see the sun touch the water but the unimpeded panorama view is still awesome!

Cautions: Living quarters are a little tight, showers only, small fridge and only about 2 channels are in English (CNN and i24 News). The water is “Not Suitable for Drinking”, so definitely load up your fridge with bottled water (~0.20 € for 1.5L) from the Supermarket, 2 blocks away. You get one room key and it’s used to activate the electricity of the room, so nothing will be on if you’re not physically in the room with the key (otherwise the room would have to be unlocked).

Pros: On the main street, so walking into the heart of Fira is short and easy. Long unimpeded view of the caldera and its islands across the street where you can also watch gorgeous sunsets. Friendly hotel staff, AC, good sized shower and bathroom, 2 full pools and 1 smaller one but there's a pool on each level, a restobar 20 ft from the center pool. Every pool has the infinity effect (water is flush with the edge of the pool around it). Wifi is pretty solid and easy to log into.

Definitely away from the crowds and the noise. Be careful crossing the street, since it is on a main artery and half the drivers are tourists

The hotel is beautiful, maintained exceptionally well, very clean, and staff were all extremely welcoming and helpful. I loved the location as it's only a few minutes away from the main area and nice to walk to everything. Quiet area with a beautiful view just across the street. Supermarket was a 5 minute walk.
The breakfast buffet was plentiful with a nice variety of hot and cold items, fruits, pastries, etc. Staff was vigilant ensuring all were using provided disposal gloves before serving themselves and wearing masks inside unless when eating.
I enjoyed my 4 nights at the hotel and would return to this hotel if I have an opportunity to come back to Santorini.
Thank you all at El Greco Resort. Keep up the great work.

The hotel is perfectly placed being a short walk (5/10min) into the center. The room was a decent size & well cleaned on a daily basis, although small insects/bugs made a trail from our terrace into the room every day in spite of the wonderful cleaner spaying anti-ant/bug spray every day. We booked half board which was a mistake as my wife being a foodie was not impressed with the buffet type meal we had on our first night so we ate out every night, breakfast was ok, eggs, bacon, fruit & toast. The complex is nice & well maintained, the staff all very pleasent. What lets the place down & the reason we would never return is yes the SUNBEDS saga, we obtained a poolside bed once on our weeks stay, this was obtained by me getting two directly outside our room by placing towels at 4am & these were the only two left !!! needless to say we were out of the hotel most days. I did take a spare sunbed with no padding & place it outside our room on a couple of occasions (see phot). The hotel prices are not cheap but comparable with Santorini.
Sounds like we were not impressed with the hotel but it was fine & good staff its just that we have stayied in much better places for the price.

We’re currently staying at El Greco. It’s such a beautiful hotel and the staff are welcoming and friendly. Everywhere looks so fresh and clean. The bedroom is comfortable and the bathroom is really different, like a little cave with what looks like a volcanic rock for a sink, really impressive. The bar area is great for drinks and snacks: breakfast gets very busy, but eventually you’ll find a table. There’s a lot of choice and the food looks so fresh.
My one criticism is the lack of sun loungers. I’m currently listening to a few people moaning because there’s no loungers for them. Not a good experience for them. Also you have to get up really early and put towels on the sun loungers: or you don’t stand any chance of getting one. You need to be down before 7am, not good if you fancy a lie in!
But apart from that it’s a lovely place and Thira is only a 10 minute walk away. There’s so many shops, bars and restaurants, it’s amazing. The views are amazing too it’s fantastic fantastic sunsets.

Clean, well laid out hotel, clean rooms, 4 pools. Restaurant good, beers about 8 euro, wine 5 euro per glass. Breakfast buffet has good selection, 8-10.30am. Friendly, helpful staff. Not many children in hotel, more adult based.

Walking into Fira centre is 10 minutes, the roads are busy with cars, buses, bikes, people. Fira has many bars, restaurants, you will pay more for a restaurant with a view, it’s cheaper if you go in a street or two, beers are 7-10 euro each, dinner will be 20-40 euro each

Travel to other towns is easy, the local bus station is 10 minutes walk from hotel. Easily signed to the destination. Buses are 1.60 euro one way for most journeys. There is a timetable but the buses don’t always stick to that. They only take cash. If you get a taxi, it’s approx. 25 euro one way (to airport from Fira)

Small supermarket just up from hotel (closed Sunday) bottled water is only 36 cents / litre, in the hotel you will pay more, and it’s not recommended to drink the tap water

Would would need to take a car, cab or ATV to get to a beach, the good news is there are many great beaches with amenities particularly at the south side of the island and several are a very short drive away:)

Yes the hotel can accommodate this. However as an alternative by the pool bar there are toilet and shower facilities and in the main reception there are toilets and baggage store so you could store luggage, spend the day at leisure, have a shower, go for a meal and just collect your luggage before you leave.
