Just home after a fabulous week in Santorini, a place I've always wanted to visit, and finally I got there. If, like me, you want to go to Santorini, but have no idea where to stay, you spend days looking at hotels, seeing what you like and then trying to work out where it's located! Hopefully my review will help a bit. El Greco hotel and spa resort, is where I finally chose, and I couldn't have been happier with my choice. The hotel is gorgeous, spacious, spotlessly clean and a perfect location. The Staff really do go above and beyond for their guests. A special mention to the lovely Anna Marie on reception. It was my birthday while I was there, my husband wanted to surprise me with a bouquet of flowers, Anna Marie organised the flowers for him, then a bottle of champagne on ice was delivered to the room courtesy of hotel management and staff. I was really touched with their attention to detail. The location of the hotel was perfect for us, nice and quiet for daytime sunbathing and only a short walk to the bustling beautiful town of Fira. A five minute walk to the supermarket which is at the bottom of the town a further five minutes through little streets brings you to the centre of the town which boasts the most amazing views imaginable. The town has more restaurants and bars than you could ask for! After the most amazing week in Santorini I will definitely be going back and my accommodation choice will most certainly be El Greco Hotel and Spa…
This hotel is actually the sister hotel of the Santorini Palace. We were sting in the Palace but wanted to take advantage of the Spa facilities in the El Greco, so we booked this and they sent us transport. Not only was the excellent spa enjoyed but we spent the afternoon in the hotel enjoying its facilities. The hotel is very impressive with its multiple pools and spotless well maintained buildings and facilities. The staff are helpful and have a sense of humor, particularly in the pool bar. Because the hotel is out of town from Fira it has the ability to spread out and you do get this spacious feeling with plenty of public areas. If we had not stayed in the Palace then we would have been happy to stay here.
While on vacation in Greece, we stayed 3 nights on Santorini at the El Greco Resort. Beautiful hotel located walking distance to the shopping/dining area in Fira, with a tremendous views especially of the sunset. The room was very large and adjacent to one of 4 infinity pools on the site. The bed was 2 twins pushed together to form one large bed, contained 1 sofa for seating, desk area, modern bathroom, TV/mini-fridge and strong WiFi across the property. The onsite restaurant was excellent with tremendous service for all the meals. The breakfast buffet (especially) was filled with many hot and cold options. We didn't get to try out the other amenities (Gym and Spa), but other than a few mosquito bites, the stay was near perfect. Highly recommended!
The good side about the hotel is the location. It is about 10 minutes walking from downtown fira The staff is nice. But i had to ask them 3 times for an iron since the rooms don't have one and i needed it for photo shooting. The room is very basic and kind of gloomy. The breakfast is ok. Not to many options but good for the price. They have a few parking spots but you will find a spot since not too many cars.
We booked this hotel last minute after having our holiday cancelled by Jet2 and it did not disappoint. It looks as clean and beautiful as the photos. We had a really big room right outside the largest and most central pool. The staff at reception were really helpful and knew loads about how to get around the island. Easy walking distance into Thira town and central in the island so it’s no more than 20 minutes by bus/taxi to get to the beaches or sunset in Oia. I would really recommend this place. Only downside was there weren’t enough chairs to sit round the pool but we just ended up using the chairs from our terrace or going to the beach. Breakfast was alright but would also suggest going to the bakeries in town where there were a delicious selection of pastries etc. We will definitely be back!…
