My husband didn't check the negative reviews and booked this for the availability. We usually stay in 4 and 5 star properties. We were met my Manolis who runs the adjacent hotel, he was wonderful. The owner Eugenia is another story. It was our wedding anniversary, and he led us to a dark room #107, that had 2 single beds, it was an ugly room with a very old bathroom. Eugenia the owner was going to move us to another room, but when I saw a loft room available, I said we would take it. She didn't say that the room that she offered was newly renovated, Anyway, the shower overflowed and I noticed the showerhead looked moldy. She had her husband fix the shower so it wouldn't overflow, but the shower had debris in it and the room wasn't cleaned. My hair which sheds was all over the place, the sink wasn't wiped, etc. Manolis had to come and sweep and mop and clean the shower. Even when the room is clean, it's not up to standard since there is one cleaner for the property, and she's inexperienced. When I went to complain to Eugenia, she said "If I were a man, I wouldn't marry you." She also asked how clean my house is and mocked me for complaining that I wanted a clean room. She also shook her finger at me that I should have taken #103 when she offered it. She made personal attacks that were uncalled for. How low is that? The toilet looks like it's never cleaned properly, and I question if she changed the sheets since. The loft floor wasn't swept or cleaned since our feet would be dirty. On our last night the extra roll of toilet paper was removed and the two bars of soap in the shower were gone. The utensils in the room are unwashed and whatever is in the tray look old and stale. Eugenia leaves early so whenever we needed something we had to ask Manolis or his mom Margarita who share the office. Please be mindful and read the reviews on Booking.com. The owner responds the nasty way she spoke to me and doesn't care how she treats her guests who aren't happy. This woman shouldn't be in the hospitality business and has low standards of cleanliness. Unfortunately this this was all that was available on those dates in that area.

My husband and I stayed here for our first wedding anniversary after getting married in santorini last year. This is the WORST place we have ever stayed... the rooms weren't cleaned properly, we used the same 2 dirty glasses for a week and they refused to give us clean ones. There was bags of rubbish left on our balcony, there was no coffee or tea in our room, no breakfast provided so we had to walk up the road every morning for a coffee. No hotel bar or music or anything around the pool area. They also wouldn't let us borrow an iron or help us with our luggage. The staff were rude and lazy! The morning we left one of the members of staff (an elderly lady- i assume the owner) was shouting at myself and my husband in front of all of her other hotel guests because we refused to pay £24 euros for some flowers the hotel had provided of their own accord. She turned to me and said 'and you are married to him?' I found it extremely personal and unprofessional and was shocked by the way she treated us as customers. We have been fortunate enough to stay at many places around the world and NEVER have we stayed somewhere so poor. Would NOT recommend!!!

It is located outside of Fira and very close. There is space to park and maybe has the best view you can find around. The rooms are mostly renovated and clean and offer unbelievable views. It has a pool which is mostly not busy and offers breakfast that is a joke. Around it the hotels are upscale with super expensive prices but not better views. Pretty much its just what you need on a budget in an amazing location. People who run the hotel are family and they try to assist no matter what. They are friendly and helpful and welcome. Just try this place and you ll never regret it. We were put in a 2 story room very nice and updated with the views below. Santorini is all about the views so here you get real value for your money. I would stay again. Across the street you ll find bakery to eat and little bit further supermarkets. You ll need a car to go around and visit different places but its the best location hands down.

Our family of four just stayed here for a week and loved the amazing view, pool area, and simple quietness of this family run hotel. Escaping the crowds of Fira was so nice, and it's really easy to get back to Fira, the beaches, or anywhere else on the island from here. Bakery across the street rocks if you need to supplement breakfast. The other guests that stay here seem to leave on tours for the whole day, so we always had the pool to ourselves, maybe one or two other couples or individuals. Really awesome for the price - compare to the rest of the island and you can't beat it!!

We reserved the 2 rooms 2 months before our arrival. We arrived at the hotel and we were told that they can put all 4 of us, (2 couples), in 1 room, on the loft, 4 single beds. They had a large group of Chinese tourists and gave one of our rooms away. We found rooms at an other hotel in Thira.

Pros Breathtaking view, but all hotels in the area has the same view. It’s not a specialty of this hotel. Located in a quiet part of Fira Cons : The check-in time was 2:00 PM and we got there at 1:30. They said our rooms will be ready only 2:30 because the previous guest did not check out on time. There is no place to wait near the front desk, we had to leave the luggage with them and go out. They provide free wi-fi, but wi-fi doesn’t work. We complained many times, but the response we got was “Yes, it’s a problem”. The staff struggles to speak English and could not answer our questions. Breakfast was terrible. I asked for warm milk for cereal and they opened a can of condensed milk, added hot water in and gave it to me. On the second day, we were given milk that had gone bad. There was no hair dryer in the room. Service staff are not helpful at all. We booked a tour with them, they gave us no instructions on where to go/how to get there. There was no coffee in the room.

We booked Bed and Breakfast Self Catering ROOM ARRANGEMENTS - I e-mailed ahead to choose a room, which i had confirmation of ...eventually! But when we arrived they tried to put us in the main building which i objected to. A phone call was made and we were put in room no 113.I wanted 112 (both under the swimming pool) but left it at that.We were next to the store room and the stairs (not good!) IN THE ROOM - We had nothing to cook on(Self Catering?). All we had in the Kitchen area was 3 plates, 3 forks, 3 Spoons. 3 Knives,3 tiny cups and saucers.( we got 2 large mugs from the dining room)a kettle, cloth and washing up liquid. Not even a toaster. There was a dressing table and stool 2 chairs, a low table and a bed. No table to sit at to eat food. DINING ROOM -We paid for Bed and Breakfast which was served 8-10am so next morning we headed to the dining room. There was 3 slices of cheese a few coissants and bread slices, jam, cereal and 3 slices of tinned peaches! I asked for a cup of tea and was pointed in the direction to green and orange tea eventually i got Ceylon tea kept behind the counter! getting milk was a problem we were offered condensed milk and hot milk! i had cereal and was again offered hot milk ( i do understand they do have hot milk for tea in Greece but surely they have come across English clients who have had cold milk!)but husband didnt want anything on offer untill they offered him a boiled egg and an egg cup. So he took a slice of bread but the egg was hard boilled.Surfice it to say went to the bakery over the road or bought food in. AROUND THE POOL -Whilst we were there there were one or two other guests staying a week otherwise most of the guests were staying just one night, they were arriving in the evening and leaving early in the morning so there was a lot of noise at these times with luggage being moved about! Some of the guests that hung around in the daytime were quite noisy too and we had to ask them to be quiet on more than one occasion. We complained to the management and they shrugged their shoulders an said that this would be happning all season, guests were staying one night only! CLEANLINESS - Great! The pool area and the room was kept immaculate. ROOMS, In the main building would have noise from the main road. Rooms under the swimming pool, have noise above from people walking around. Rooms 114,115,116 are on the lower level and may be better. LOCAL AREA - Hire a car,we did! Roads can be a bit hairy but we found the locals quite patient and there are car parks around, some are payable. Its quite a walk into Fira and the road is a busy and dusty one! I wouldnt recommend this place, spend a bit more and stay in Fira or Oia. The view is beautiful but it is from anywhere, if only a short walk away!

My husband and I stayed at the Butterfly Caldera Villas in June of 2014 (not 2016 as mentioned in the description). We arrived in Santorini via plane after the sun had set. The staff arranged a transfer to the hotel and helped us take our bags to our room. Staff were not bothered at all either when we had to call them down at mid-night to fix a blown fuse in our room (our fault, not the hotels). In the morning we were greeted with the most breath-taking view of the caldera. Breakfast was available for an additional charge, however we never woke early enough to enjoy it. After realizing how beautiful the breakfast area was, we regretted not getting up a bit earlier. Our room was quiet enough as it was away from the main hotel and down several flights of stairs. There was a kitchenette to prepare small meals for evenings we chose to stay in, and with an unencumbered view of the caldera, we didn't have to deal with the crowds in Fira or Oia to enjoy the beautiful sunset. The room and bathroom was clean and there was a small table for two to enjoy a meal at. The only downfall being so far away from the main hotel was poor wi-fi connection. The villa is located a fair walk outside of Fira, and you do have to pass by a garbage dump, but aside from that it's an easy walk. Staff can help arrange car or atv rental if you'd rather not walk, however we enjoyed the walk into town. The terrain is flat until you get to Fira. On the day that we sailed out, staff allowed us to store our bags free of charge and arranged for a transfer to the port of Athina. We would most certainly stay here again if given the opportunity.
