Arrived at this hotel a week ago and have had nothing but a fantastic time. The hotel has great views out over the sea and the suites are genuinely lovely. Polished concrete and plaster predominate, but it really works. Great terraces with hot tubs. The staff are a real strength of this hotel - they go out of their way to make your stay excellent. A 6 minute walk up the dedicated path takes you over the hill to views of the caldera and the stunning traditional Santorini perspective. The village of Oia is bustling and full of great restaurants, with great food and stunning views. Shops are also varied and fun. The spa in the hotel is a real treat. The staff, headed by Anna and Katrina at the front desk are a real joy. massages by Pavos and Maria were a real highlight whilst Helen, Sarah and Mike provided equally excellent and recommendable services to my wife in her treatments. We would really recommend including the spa in any visit to this very special hotel. Sorry to be leaving but looking forward to coming back

Hotel's Favorite
There are more than a hundred hotels you could book from, however there is ONE which is a real true gem 💎 and I could not be happier with my choice of hotel accommodation. From the very first email exchanged with Santo Maris team, I felt the exceptional service and customer dedication. My thanks goes to Corina Voulgari, Despoina and Denisa, who were very patient and attentive in ensuring I receive all the details I required before starting my trip. This hotel is absolutely beautiful, from pool front view Suite to Honeymoon suites, Exclusive suites. We stayed in a Pool front suite, which includes outdoor jaccuzzi and a pool. One thing to know is that this hotel has several pools and as you walk up to your own suite, we had a pool surrounded by 3 suites. All Suites had their own privacy space as the structure of the building is surrounded with beautifully designed rock walls. There is a main guest infinity pool with an amazing sunset view. A bar by the pool and the Alios Ilios restaurant with amazing view on the Aegean sea. My special thanks to Mr George notre Maitre d’hôtel who was absolutely fantastic in every possible ways, paying attention to guests preference and attending to your needs. He has an eye for details and is very much knowledgeable about F&B overall and this is a real peace of mind knowing you are staying at a place where the staff are well trained to offer a five star experience. Even though I did not have the time to spend at the Spa, I can tell you it is truly a beautiful. I could go on and write a book on things I have liked at this property but I won’t have the space or anymore adjectif to describe how AMAZING Santo Maris Luxury & Spa is. Thank you all for having made our stay at yours one of the best. We shall see you again!

We stayed here on the last night of our honeymoon and unfortunately it didn’t live up to expectations. For the price and the 5* We expected a lot more. Compared to other hotels we stayed at on the trip the staff were not up to the same calibre. We stayed at the nearby canaves oia epitome and the level of service there was on another level. The pools and the sunset views are great, but small things like not having a working fridge, having to pay for EUR 1.50 for 300ml of water around the pool and the lack of water pressure in the showers was annoying. I would of happily told the staff the above on checkout but it’s the first hotel I’ve stayed at that on checkout didn’t even bother to ask how the stay was. I suggest their management go stay at the canaves down the road and see how 5* service should be done. It’s a shame the breakfast was buffet and they didn’t run a shuttle service anywhere either.

If you are thinking of escaping reality for a few days this is your place. Out of all the places I have been in the world I have never been anywhere so beautiful. The hotel is set in a perfect location in Oia. Customer service is second to none and the spa is excellence at its finest. Antigoni the manager, Nikos the general manager, savvas, the spa manager and Elena my massage therapist (who has magic hands) are all amazing and welcoming people. I highly recommend this stay. You won’t regret it.

Me and my mother had a lovely time at the hotel. The staff were very attentive and the pool suite room was great. Only problem to be improved was the hot food at breakfast… Even when fresh plates of ‘hot’ food were brought to the buffet hot plates, the items were cold. Cold fried eggs, omelettes, cold sausages, cold bacon - which was pretty disgusting. The only way to get hot eggs was to ask for them to be made specially as boiled eggs brought to the table. Please please turn up the temperate on the buffet hot plates so that the hot food can stay hot at breakfast!!

Spa Rating = 5 My daughter and I had spa treatments on the 2nd day of our trip. She had a facial and I had a massage. Both were outstanding. The spa itself is well-appointed. It appeared that there was an indoor poor but it was drained (I assume because of COVID). All in all, two thumbs up.

Dear guest, We wish to thank you for sharing your experience during your visit in our Anassa Spa in this review. It is wonderful to know that both you and your daughter found your treatments outstanding! Regretfully, due to the government protocols concerning Covid-19, our indoor heated pool remained closed as you correctly mention in your comments. We hope that we will be able to welcome you once more in the future! Best Wishes Santo Maris Team

I visit it mostly out of curiosity and I was surprised positively!!! This a very subjective and limited review based on what I looked at. It has a lot of pools and some have also a great view. I will definitely book the next visit to Santorini. Amazing view of the sunset from the main pool or the alley :)

A luxury spa resort on the edge of the town of Oia. This certainly ticked a lot of boxes. The staff at the restaurant and the bar by the pool were all always so warm and polite, they did make you feel very welcomed. The room was large and spacious and full of amentities. A nespresso machine in the little kitchen area, beautiful sets of cups, lovely walk-in shower and generally great big bathroom. And to top it all, my own private outdoor jacuzzi. I also tried the spa package while I was here and it was thoroughly enjoyable and most relaxing. Breakfast was buffet style. Not many places do buffet style breakfasts since covid. You are required to wear a mask in the buffet area, and they provided gloves for you to use if you wanted when handling the common utensils when choosing you food. I did not bother with the gloves, as the evidence now suggest transmission is mainly by respiratory droplets and not by fomites. The range of options was excellent, with selections of hot food, cold cuts, cereals, fruits, baked goods, yoghurts. Most anything you want for breakfast is here. Now the not so good part. As mentioned, it is on the fringes of Oia, and slightly downhill from it, so it’s a 10min uphill walk each time you want to get into town. It should be manageable for most people, but I guess there might be people with medical conditions where this is an issue. I’m not sure what happens in that case, maybe the hotel drives you into town. There was a welcome card on the table from the manager which I’m guessing os meant to feels personalised, but is probably standard for everyone. One of the sentences was something along the lines of “hopefully you blissful experience with us has already started”. Ironically, for me it was the opposite. Most of my stay had been perfect, except for right at the start. So I arrived early at the hotel, at 11am, and I was aware I shouldn’t be expecting a room at that time, after all check out time is 11am and the housekeeping team will need to make up the room. So I was perfectly happy for them to just store my luggage and for me to come back later for the room. I was told very helpfully that I could go enjoy myself at the bar by the main pool and someone would come and get me as soon as the room was ready. So off I went to the pool. Now, I’m not much of a sit by the pool type of person, so after 45 min, I decided I would just go into the town and did a bit of looking around. I returned around 2pm as I was too hot and just wanted to rest. I was hoping that I perhaps could have a room by now, but was very firmly though politely told by the front desk that check-in time was not until 3pm and I should really not expect to have a room before then. I think if I was told “I’m very sorry, but your room is still not ready”, I might have grudgingly accepted it, but to feel like I was being told off didn’t feel nice. This was a luxury resort at a premium price and part of that price was for you to feel special, and I definitely did not feel that way. As I went off to spend another hour by the pool, seeing other visitors who have arrived way after me being shown to their rooms while I still had to wait, it made me feel like I was less important as a customer than everyone else. You knew I was on site at 11am, could housekeeping not be alerted to prioritise my room, or was I indeed less welcome? Certainly it would not have taken more than 3 hours to service the room, nice as it was. You managed to get others room ready before 3pm, why not mine (I was eventually informed at a quarter pass 3 by a very friendly bellhop, that whenever I was ready I could go to my room. Whever I was ready was an hour ago) As I stated, the rest of the stay was actually very good, but having a sour note right at the start really rather spoilt the experience. Something for the management to think about, if you want to make all guests feel special.

Dear Melvin Once more, thank you for taking the time to share your recent experience with us. As we have already responded to you through Expedia, we are thrilled to read your remarkable review and we are so happy that we managed to create such unique memories of your vacation with us. Thank you very much for your great comments regarding the team; We are indeed very proud of our people, and it is an honor for us to read such an accomplishment for them. Thank you also for your comments referring to your suite and the amenities included as well as for your kind comment on our breakfast buffet and our Anassa Spa. As far as it concerns your comment on the time that you checked in your suite, allow us to mention that our team always tries to make every guest to feel special and unique. We do understand your frustration on this matter, although we strongly believe that there must have been a misunderstanding. We are always very careful that all our guests check into their suite as directly as possible. This, unfortunately, during the high season is not easy to achieve as there is a lot of demand while at the same time we have to comply with the covid restrictions that are in place and pass through the whole process of cleaning and disinfection before the new guests arrive in their suite. All in all, we would like to thank you for your great comments, and we wish to have the chance to welcome you again to Santo Maris and offer you yet another memorable experience. Best Wishes, Santo Maris team
