Beautiful setting in the heart of Oia. Although right in the centre of the town, the relaxing atmosphere makes it feel.like you're a million miles from the hustle and bustle. Wonderful staff who couldn't be more helpful. Will be back!!

We arrived after a long day’s travelling. We had asked the hotel to arrange a transfer from the ferry. We were very glad we did. The hotel’s porter carried our cases up the cobbled street and made our arrival much easier than it would otherwise have been. The transfer fee of €45 was reasonable for five people. The hotel serves food (or snacks as they call them) until I think 3pm. We arrived after this time and asked the receptionist for directions to a supermarket to buy something to eat for our four-year-old child. He kindly gave us directions. When we returned with some bread and cheese, etc. I asked about getting some plates and cutlery. He assured me that they were in every room. I returned to the room to look for them, but could not find them. I returned to Reception to be told the same again - they are in every room. Once again, I returned to Reception to be told the same thing. I queried why I couldn’t find them and was referred to the manager. She told me that cooking is not permitted in my category of room (a superior room). I mentioned that I didn’t want to cook, I just wanted to make a sandwich for a child, as the hotel was unable to provide food in the evening. She offered to change my room the next day for a different category of room with a kitchen so I could cook. I pointed out that I needed to feed the child tonight, not tomorrow, and that I didn’t want to cook, just make a sandwich. I asked again if I could have a plate and some cutlery please. No, it was not possible I was told. I said I’d carry it to the room, I didn’t need to cook, just make a sandwich. Quite impossible I was told again. I’ve travelled a lot on Greece over the years and one of the things I’ve come to love about the country is the sense of hospitality and generosity. I really was astonished to be spoken to the way I was. At breakfast the next day the dining room was full. I could see tables available outside, but a locked double door from the dining room leading out. I asked at Reception if it could be opened. The Receptionist opened one half of the door for me. Being unable to fit through with a tray of food, I had to set it down on the ground, bend down and open the bolts myself. As soon as I went outside, the man attending the buffet rushed after me and bolted the door again. This continued during the meal, and on every day thereafter. I asked the same man if he could refill the empty orange juice. When this didn’t happen I asked him again. And again. Whatever he was doing, he never managed to find the time to bring any juice. Luckily he found plenty of time to keep locking the door. The breakfast on the first day was a little disappointing. Tinned fruit cocktail. No juice, and the dish of eggs was empty. I asked for Greek coffee, but was told that it was not possible. This being despite the fact that a Greek coffee pot was on display in between the coffee machine and the tip box on the self-service buffet. The quality of the breakfast improved over subsequent days. Fresh fruit appeared and an omelette. Even the orange juice dispenser was refilled from a carton. Local cheeses, sliced ham, spinach pie, salad, etc were very welcome. Around the pool on the tables outside Reception were menus for drinks and food. I tried to order from the man attending these tables and was surprised to be directed to Reception to order a drink. It was then brought by the same man from whom it was not possible to order. The drinks offered are good value, especially the wine, which was of excellent quality. The food - pizza, salads, dips, etc. was good and the prices reasonable. The rules about ordering in Reception were a little eccentric. Our Superior category rooms were all beautiful. Very atmospheric. Some of them were reached by long marble staircases. While very pretty, they would be a little startling for the infirm. Ours was beside one of the two Sunset terraces. While I didn’t actually have a view of the sun at the point of sunset, it was very attractive. Another quirky feature of the hotel is the collection of melodramatic signs. One in the bedroom warned not to interfere with the wifi equipment or run the risk of a “global internet outage”. Another warned to ensure to close the lavatory lid when flushing to guard against the spread of Covid. Yet another warned about not using too much electricity or the power plant would fail, plunging the whole island in to darkness, as happened several decades earlier. The hotel offered atmospheric, comfortable accommodation and a great pool at a good location close to the centre of Oia. The rooms were spotlessly clean and we had an enjoyable stay despite the eccentric approach to service.

Better believe it!!!!!! Everything the other reviews say is spot on. A real oasis in the middle of all the mayhem of oia. The staff are brilliant, particular mention to Jean-Marie - so informative and helpful. Organised our sunset boat trip , in our view the best and most relaxed way to see a beautiful sunset away from the crowds…….

If you like unique lodging, you will love beautiful Aethrio Sunset Village. The entire facility was once a sock factory, although I never would have guessed its history if not for the interesting displays in the breakfast room. The rooms now used as lodging once housed the factory workers. No two rooms are the same, as far as I could tell, and most have at least a small sitting area outside (some of the rooms have large patios). Returning to Aethrio Sunset Village after a day wandering the shops of Oia felt like retreating from the world a bit. Every member of the staff was pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was a delight every morning, with cold cereal, Greek yogurt, bread for toasting along with honey and several jellies/jams, meat and cheese, eggs of one sort or another, and fruit were available every morning. Also a pastry each day, coffee, and two kinds of juice. I'm probably forgetting some options, but my point is there were a lot of choices! Lunch is available, as well, at prices similar to restaurants elsewhere in Oia. I had delicious stuffed vegetables for lunch one day, as good as anything I ate anywhere else during this trip - and I ate a lot of very good food while on Santorini. Nuts and bolts: the rooms, breakfast area, pool, and all common areas were clean, tidy, and fresh-looking every one of the eight days we stayed there. Water pressure in our shower was great. The tap water is not potable, but bottled water is sold at reception. I appreciated the quiet hours each evening. WiFi, a hair dryer, mini-fridge and small kitchen area were available in our room. Room keys are actual keys, not key cards. Because of the topography of the island, I doubt if anyplace in Oia is handicap-accessible. Inclines, cobblestones, and frequent steps could be challenges for anyone who isn't in the best of health or who requires assistance with mobility. 'Sunset Village' is in the name of the place, and it does not disappoint. Two terraces at different heights allow for fantastic views of the sunset. I can't say enough about the staff at Aethrio Sunset Village. During our stay they did everything possible to make our visit wonderful, including offering opinions about restaurants and other outings while on Santorini. If I ever return to Oia I would absolutely, without question, stay at Aethrio Sunset Village again.

Aethrio really is like a village, a number of different dwellings, now rooms, arranged around a central area with a breakfast room and nice pool (though the weather was too cold when we were there to take advantage of the pool). It has a sunset patio high up above all the rooms with great sunset views as one would expect in Oia. It is an oasis of calm away from the crowds in the narrow streets of the town. The staff were very helpful with information, and when we told them we were leaving very early the next morning they put a tray with coffee and rolls in our room for breakfast!

We stayed for 3 nights here, lovely suite with access to private roof terrace. Super friendly staff with lots of local information. Greek Breakfast buffet style. Enjoyed a relaxed simple lunch with wine by the pool to escape one afternoon to escape the crowds in the sunshine for less than 10 euros. Room perfectly serviced daily. Location is perfect for the main village attractions.

This is a small property that is in one of the best locations if you want to be able to walk to many things. It right in the middle of the center of Oia. We had a superior room and it was very roomy, clean and comfortable. We were in unit 8 which had a main entry door and a backdoor that opened right to the sunset terrace. Room service was great, all of the office staff were awesome and the breakfast each morning was really really good. When your booking a room to a place you have never been, it is hard to know if your making the right choice but I will tell you, aside from staying in a cave room, this place is amazing and convenient. If your one that likes to be in the middle of things, This is the place!!

Wonderful little hotel complex. Felt so authentically Greek. Located in a fantastic area with plenty of bas and restaurants around. The breakfast was really good. Staff were lovely, and so friendly. The look and feel of this property made us feel we were in authentic Greece. Of course, Santorini is very busy, but the hotel was quiet. The pool area is lovely, great for my daily length swimming. Definitely would recommend.

This is a nice hotel in a beautiful setting, smack in the middle of gorgeous (and busy) Oia. it is really like a small village and the rooms are authentic Greek. There is terrace high up (many stairs) where you can enjoy beautiful 360 views, a must go for the sunset or early morning. Only problem in this hotel are the bathrooms, they are mediocre at best (we experienced 3 rooms and 3 bathrooms...). They could use a make over. In one water came up from the drain in the bathroom floor every time someone took a shower,,,, This hotel is not for people who have problems with stairs, lots of them!

As soon as we walked in we loved the charm of this quaint hotel. Each room ‘ apartment appeared to have its own terrace / outside areas. The rooms were all spacious, well furnished and immaculately clean. All of the staff we met were smiley, happy to help and very friendly. The hotel is situated right in the heart of Oia. No faults whatsoever from me.
