Think this might be what heaven is like. Small but perfectly formed. Huge, domed white rooms like being in a cool, calming cave, gigantic firm beds, large relaxing lounge area, stunning bathroom with a serious jacuzzi bath size of swimming pool and even a little kichen. Your own terrace with loungers and sun umbrella and every room has sea view. Food finest quality, charming staff looking to your every need. Why did we have to leave?! We were planning our return by day 2. A real gem. P.S. Its all steep steps so don't go if you cannot manage that. Staff.... the cocktails let you down - too watery. Sort that and you will be perfect.

This is the most wonderful hotel, the very best Oia has to offer. Look no further - classy, understated, peaceful and beautiful. We spent four magnificent nights here and were so sad to leave. The staff are so lovely and the view is unbeatable. It's a five minute walk from the hustle and bustle of Oia and so much nicer being in this position. Perivolas is out of this world. x

Excellent 5 night stay. A total respite of relaxation and serenity away from the crowds and chaos of Santorini. Location is perfect. Just outside the busy streets of Oia but a simple walk. Rooms are unique and stunning old “cave homes” that have been updated and minimally designed in a gorgeous way - there are only 22 and the level of privacy varies. We had room 11, which was very private. Our room had an indoor hot tub - we were upgraded (I think?) into this and I’d pass next time. It’s fun the first night but mostly just sits there as you’d prefer more the pool area for a real/full hot tub. Food is excellent. Some of our best dishes/meals (despite a couple Michelin stars in Italy) were at the hotel. It’s not overly fancy - it’s simple, clean dishes with strong technique and great flavors. Breakfast is included and well done - we did half our meals in the room and half in one of the nooks near the pool. Value is very good. It’s Santorini (expensive) and one of the best hotels in Santorini (also expensive). Spend what you feel comfortable with but glancing at other reviews, it seems like a lot of people who are splurging for the first time and may have unrealistic expectations. Or just folks who love a chance to complain and try their hardest to take down a 5 star place The people are mixed - the staff is warm and generous but the guests can be variable. On the staff, it is a reserved and professional service style. Don’t expect them to greet you by name and check on you every ten minutes (like Asia, for example). Special recognition to Julia, Achilles, and the two Kostis’s (the boat captain and waiter). The concierges did a wonderful job with restaurant and activity bookings. On the other guests … Acknowledging it is a stunning place, the number of eye-rolling photo sessions for Instagram was disappointing. Often, these folks seemed to very booking 1-2 nights just to say they did and documenting every second… not sure what can be done about this. Lastly, we can’t recommend enough the private boat tour. It’s not cheap but spending 5 hours with a great captain and learning about the history and stories of this gorgeous island and caldera - certainly a highlight. Is it perfect? Of course not - nothing is! The views, the architecture, the grounds, the staff, and the feeling of calm and happiness will be remembered forever. Most importantly, we are already planning a return - not so much to see Santorini again, but more to stay at Perivolas.

Great little 5* boutique hotel on the edge of the Oia main town Complimentary airport transfers made it a breeze getting to the property The pool and view is worth the booking alone. It’s spectacular The rooms are cave like and all white, very comfortable. Bathroom a little on the small size Pleasant breakfast and great staff Only a short walk to all the action which we preferred away from the crowds, the views are just the same into the caldera, you get the added bonus of amazing sunset views from the top of the property Thank you for an amazing honeymoon

I have travelled a lot but this location is the best I have ever experienced. The view is breathtaking and panoramic. Being 5 mins from town makes all the difference as you escape the crowds.. The suite is a cave and gave us plenty of space traveling with our teen daughter. Staff are very attentive, Pool is amazing. Dinner is served in private outdoor enclaves. Food is exquisite!

We stayed for 3 nights at Perivolas. Honestly it was an amazing experience for us. As other reviewers have said it's location is perfect for Oia which is in my opinion by far the best place to be based on the Island. The hotel is so relaxed and quiet, you could easily just spend time there gazing into the distance. The staff are attentive and very helpful and the rooms (caves) are well equipped with everything you might need. I tend to agree that the breakfast is good rather than excellent although I did enjoy the detoxifier drink every day. It is a little pricey but you're in Santorini and if we go back again I would try really hard to be able to afford this again as I'd be scared the other hotels won't be as nice! Tip - definitely walk down the steps to Amoudi Bay, it's stunning and the restaurants are very good. The Katina Taverna does an amazing grilled lobster. If you're going to walk along the cliffs to Fira make sure you wear trainers or walking shoes. It's a great walk but stiff going at times.

Ok, so you have to factor in the context when reviewing Perivolas. It charges big bucks to stay so guests should expect high end service. The pro’s : Location - superb : perfect views of the caldera. Close enough to Oia to walk but not right in the heart so not affected by noise pollution. Staff - couldn’t be nicer or more attentive. Breakfast - I would say good rather than excellent. The con’s : Room - our rooms refrigerator was noisy and rumbled through the night. The drains seemed to rumble randomly through the night too and there was occasionally an odour of drains in the room. The pink throw on bed had seen better days. There was no milk in the fridge and the coffee machine was an old filter coffee maker which needs updating. All in all it’s nice. But the price is too high for the product. If you’re charging the amount they do then it really should be 5stars all round. The room let it down badly.

Hello Robert, thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay at Perivolas. I am sorry to hear your stay with us wasn't as expected. We are sorry the fridge and drains were rumbling, but we have not had this happen before. Had these issues been brought to the attention of our staff at reception, we would have immediately resolved the situation. All our rooms are equipped with filter coffee makers and condensed milk is always available, but we would have happily brought you some fresh milk if that was what you were after.

Spent our honeymoon here for 3 nights. Service was generally good, but when asked to make our jacuzzi warmer (as we were paying $1000 a night), they said they could not as they have many rooms to support. I bought a thermometer which read 34 Celsius which was definitely not warm enough considering the cost of this room. The restaurant was exceptional, but overall, an extravagant price for management that does not seem to care about our experience. We also had some issues with house keeping and a broken jet on our tub which was never fixed (though they did fix the broken drain). I usually feel very embarrassed about complaining in such luxury, And when I finally got the nerve to mention some issues Perivolas was defensive, suggesting my fault at not knowing how to use the tub and spilling of my own toiletres .

Great Accommodations, breath-taking setting, lovely staff and good food. We spent 3 nights at this hotel in our family group and found it very peaceful as it is away from the more crowded areas of Santorini. We also stayed in Imervogli which was very nice also but must say that the views from here was simply magical.

Perivolas is a beautiful escape from the Oia crowds. The service was impeccable and the views unsurpassed. The perfect Santorini get away. We typically spend minimal time in a hotel while traveling, but we never wanted to leave this one. Perfect in every way.
