I have stayed at this Auberge a few times now over the last 8 years. The accommodation is in a separate building in the grounds of the garden filled with various breeds of birds enclosed in large outdoor cages. All very quaint and French oldie worldly, the beds are comfortable but the facilities could do with a makeover. The Restaurant...

The Auberge de Val au Cesar near Yvetot is a gem of a Hotel. It has lovely comfortable rooms set aside from the Restaurant with a charming garden where you pass peacocks, waterfowl and canaries en route to reception. The restaurant is first rate, reasonably priced and the service feels genuinely friendly. This is great stopover location to break the...

This was our second visit and it proved to be every bit as good as the first! The food is excellent, I had the chicken with brandy , cider and cream. Mouth-wateringly good whilst my husband had the sole stuffed with lobster mousse. The size of the self service cheeseboard has to be seen to be believed. We had the...

We were travelling back to the eurotunnel and this quiet hotel is about 2 hours away.It is set in a very rural setting which is ideal. The welcome was good and we were very pleased with the room.Even better was walking around the grounds, but the very best thing was the outstanding meal. Here is.a cook who enjoys his work and is careful...

Interesting hotel quite off the beaten track but pleasant surroundings and on a very hot day the room was pleasantly cool. The restaurant proved to be confusing as the a la carte menu was not cheap but there was a note offering a 29euro prix fixe menu including four courses I think! This menu was not part of the a...

Thank you for taking time to write us your discontent, this is changing times things: but now it will not be the case because I think that, wherever you live, you are dependent on the distribution of water , electricity, etc ... You called me at 3 am, I already knew since midnight there was more water but I could...

This hotel/restaurant is off the beaten path, but so worth it! It is in the beautiful French countryside outside of Yvetot. It is around farms; nice enough- you can see the cows, but not smell them. The service is excellent and the food is beyond compare. We came as a group of six for two rooms (my parents in one...

Quaint and quirky. Rooms in separate annexe to restaurant. Each individually decorated, each with its own front door. Easy parking. Peacocks in the garden! Lush green garden. Formal looking restaurant but chef manage to rustle up a piece of grilled chicken for our 23 month old grandchild. We did struggle a bit as our French is very basic but staff...

This was the third time we stayed at here. Not because the rooms are state of the art, the perfect Internet connections or the nouvelle cuisine. But it's a very sympathetic place on a beautiful location, with excellent classical French food, like foie gras, riz de veau and rognons de veau and a amazing plateau de fromage. This cuisine is...

Don't know about the competition, but l'Auberge du Val au Cesne comes up No. 1 under hotels in Yvetot, out of two. But why isn't is No. 1 under restaurants? I doubt the the burger joint which is at the top comes anywhere close to this imaginative cuisine, except perhaps in price. So, if you want to have a wonderful...

We enjoyed the room situated at the bottom of the garden and being able to sit outside in the evening. The food was excellent and the breakfast included home made yoghurt and freshly squeezed orange juice. Wi Fi worked well for the Ipad but tended to keep dropping out with the lap top. The garden although nice was very weedy...
