A long way from anywhere in particular but the restaurant is worth a detour as Michelin would say. On a hot day after a long hot drive it was good to sit in the sun at a table in front of the elegant old building enjoying the garden views and a cold beer. Service was very professional and unhurried, but...

Uphill from Puylaurens-Lapardell, Gincla is a small hamlet some 600 metres above sea level, surrounded by mountains. It's very peaceful and the air is beautifully fresh. Our room overlooked the charming small garden, which features a pond and chairs and tables. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was well-equipped. Although it was on the second floor the steps were...

Another visit to Hostellerie du Grand Duc, this time for lunch - it really is an experience not to be missed! The service, preparation, tableware, atmosphere, presentation and tastes of the food, and wine is fantastic. The attention to detail is to be admired. The whole experience stayed with me the whole day and I did not need anything else...

After a long drive up from the coast this was a welcome sight. The hotel is set in lovely surroundings in a very special village. The welcome was excellent and our room was delightfully French and very comfortable, and clean. The evening meal was a French feast in very beautiful surroundings , the quality of the food was first class...

We stayed at the hotel a full week half-board and the stay was as good as the first time. The food was varied and always excellent: we even had lobster one night as it was mother's day in France that week-end! Our room was spacious and given the location of the hotel in a tiny village off the main roads...

We had a one night stay to celebrate my 70th birthday. We've lived now in the Languedoc for 27 months and a number of conversations have come up with a recommendation to try 'this great place to eat in a remote spot up in the foothills of the Pyrenees'. Having checked it out online and establishing it offered accommodation as...

18 years ago my wife and I stayed here for our 25th wedding anniversary. We went back this year to celebrate my 65th birthday. It was good in 1997 and I can still remember some of the meals we ate. I would say it was even better this time round. Amazingly we stayed in the same room, which, I am...

The room was basic but comfortable. Charming hotel. I wanted to be in the Gincla area, and this hotel is by far the best option nearby. I also had a great dinner at the restaurant in the hotel. Definitely coming back!

We stayed just for 1 night, but we had a very nice experience. The building, the gardens and sorroundings, the internal decoration are very nice. The dinner was very good. We chosed the 35 euros menu, including starter, main course, cheeses and desert. The room, with a nice view over the garden had a very confortable bed and a good...

We didn't stay at the hotel, but had a great Sunday lunch before we hiked up to the nearby Chateaufort of Puilaurens. (not a very long climb) Based on our very positive experience, we plan to go back and stay next summer for our anniversary. We lost the GPS signal as we drove up the windy and narrow road and...
