No this is not a luxury private island resort but it is the perfect barefoot Robinson Crusoe kind of place! Even it is close to Stone Town it feels really remote and you can reconnect to nature, you can see lots of bats, hermit crabs and dikdiks. Lovely staff and outstanding locally grown food. They offer kayaks and snorkelling gear...

Spent a few days here as the last days holiday for my honeymoon. Such a quiet, pretty island where there are no distractions. Short boat transfers to Stone Island can be made and lazy afternoons in the sun before retiring for dinner. The food was exceptional with the local fisherman providing dinner every night. Will most definitely come back. Staff...

After having explored Zanzibar Island we have visited Chapwani Island for two days and with no hesitation I would recommend this resort for anyone who is looking for some quiet time amidst untouched nature. Easily accessible by a 15 minute boat ride from Stone Town the property offers a small number of bungalows overlooking the ocean. We have stayed at...

After one week of safari and a climb to the summit of Kilimanjaro, we needed to relax! We chose Chapwani Island because of a recommendation from our traveling agent, Tanzania Tours, Denmark - and it was truly an unbelievable experience! The island is isolated away from the noise and stress of busy Stone Town, all you can hear is a...

Fantastic stay at Chapwani island. Friendly staff members who are helpful. Great swimming and kayaking experiences. We had the out of world experience of seeing beautiful star fish at snake island during low tide. The food served was absolutely amazing and full with flavour. Very clean and comfortable rooms. Very private which was lovely. Thank you!

What a great island! really quiet and nice to relax, read, walking, swimming and doing nothing. Only a few houses and a restaurant. Nice for children who love nature. We had a nice dinner on the beach.

Our daughter and husband were so impressed with the website and we didn't doubt that the $190.00 U.S. per night PER PERSON would be worth it.  Turns out we were terribly wrong. Four of us were booked for three nights but didn't stay even one.  Something has obviously happened to this property since those photos were taken. The location is...

This is the place to go for peace and quiet. The rooms on the beach are lovely and the staff is excellent. Food is very good, they even come to your deck to take afternoon orders for lunch. It is a very private beach but the water and sand and swimming are phenomenal

We would like to thank the Chapwani Island team for making our stay in the island a truly memorable, wonderful time. We got engaged there and it was simply PERFECT, we couldn't even imaging anything more beautiful and romantic. Extraordinary food, possiblity of kayaking, and seeing little antilopes and...bats:) Idyllic, beautiful place:) Definitely worth visiting!

The location of the hotel on a remote island plays a vital role on the overall experience. You can explore the beautiful beaches and the inland of the island; with the provided Kayaks the sandbanks nearby can be visited at low tide. The quality of dinner varied a bit, breakfast however was great. We refrained from swimming in the saltwater...
