The resort is located less than a minutes walk from a beautiful beach in a small village. You get to experience the best of both worlds at Kiganja- a serene and spotlessly clean resort with delicious breakfast pastries; and authentic Zanzibari village life. The rooms were thoughtfully designed and very comfortable. Georgia and her family were the best hosts and company. Warm, friendly, helpful and ecologically sensitive. A shout out to Abdullah at the restaurant too. We are so glad we chose Kiganja
Small cozy hotel. Made me fell like at home. Very good breakfast and dinner changing every day. Rooms are cleaned several times per day, so it is a superclean hotel. Good WiFi, AC in every room. Owners are very nice and friendly. Ocean across the street. Nice pool. Best place to relax.

10/10 . Really amazing relaxing place . The owner Giorgia is very hands on and takes great pride to make sure everyone one is happy and checks up on guests at breakfast and dinner aswell as throughout the day . Breakfast is very good , with a semi buffet with hot items to order . Enjoyed the pastries baked in house . Rooms very well thought out with everything you need ( fridge , kettle , hairdryer ) with a nice balcony / terrace to chill out on . Amazing water pressure and temperature Control! Nice local toiletries . Complimentary bikes available aswell as games etc . Food in restaurant good . Very good value 15usd set dinner ( 3 courses and water ) or a la carte also well priced . Lots of places to eat also walking distance 3-30 mins . Situated next to the local village with a small shop for water etc ( 5 min walk ) . Beach 3 minutes walk . You can hear the sea from your balcony . Location was good for me as I do enjoy walking on the beach to places , but don’t expect things at your doorstep . WiFi very good . Pool area very relaxing . Very comfortable sunloungers ( not always the case in zanzi ! )Staff super polite . Can’t really fault it for the price point and what giorgia delivers , a true retreat . Look foward to returning . …
This is one of the hotel/villa that can meet the European standards. The breakfast is superb and staff are friendly. Rooms are very clean and pool is nice. Wifi is everywhere, its not too cheap in terms of foods/drinks. Overall great stay.
Kiganja is located near a beautiful beach. The hotels and rooms are very nice and welcoming. The hotel is small and quite. The owner Georgia is wonderful, very nice and helpful with good advice. The main downside is the location, although at the beach it is far from restaurants, shops and main attractions though that may be for all places in Zanzibar or at least this part of the island.
Hotel is generally very nice. The atmosphere is amazing. The staff is friendly and helpful, mainly owner and also waiter. What can I highly recommend is food. The breakfast is wide. You can drink whatever you want. The owner comes from Italy so breakfast and lunch is reflected on amazinng italian cuising and also local. The room is appropriately equipped. We had really breathtaking view on swimming pool. No worries, no command, no bad reviews, because it was nice staying there. I can recommend you great taxi driver he is called Dulla, who took us everywhere for cheaper price +255776917660. Contact him if you want!
Really nice stay at this quiet little hotel. The friendly owners, Georgia and Daniel, are warm and welcoming. The property is stylish and comfortable with plenty of lounge chairs and shade umbrellas for everyone. We enjoyed the generous and fresh breakfasts, as well as a couple of nice dinners at the hotel. The staff is friendly and helpful. Very interesting to be in a local working village. The beach is just steps away and very beautiful. If you're looking for a place to relax, this hotel is a great place to do it. We recommend Kiganja Retreat!
We stayed at the hotel in December - its a lovely place and excellent location. I decided to write a review because of how helpful the owners were... The airline changed my flights which meant that instead of arriving at 09.30 in the morning, I arrived at 3 in the morning... Georgia (the owner) waited up for me and didnt charge me for what was effectively an extra night's stay... thanks to Georgia and all the staff!
